Took some pants to shorten. Sloppy and terrible job. They're not straight, uneven, and sloppy. This person does not care what she's doing. And very expensive on top of that. read more

She sucks. Took 4 days to shorten length of pants and when I came back on the 5th day she said it still wasn't ready. She magically only spoke Spanish to me even though our negotiations were in English. Doesn't communicate. Isn't organized. Waste of money. Waste of time. read more

I am a business professional. I saw this shop and gave it a try since I work nearby. The lady speaks only Spanish, but I can get by. She is amazing. I have been coming here for at least 5 years. She has hemmed jeans and slacks, fixed holes in my jeans, she has tailored mens and women's suits for me, she has taken a size 10 leather skirt and made it an 8 with perfection, she has made curtains for me. I take all my clothing needs to her. If you need her to tailor something like a suit, there is a back door you can go in and try the item on and have her mark it while you are wearing it. I am always super specific with what I want done and it has always come back the way I have requested. She is on time, reliable and super reasonable. Highly recommend this location for any type of clothing needs or alterations you may have. read more

I came to this place knowing nothing about if they do a good job or not. Based on the reviews it was a 50-50 but I spoke with two of my friends and they recommended this place so I took a risk. There's a man and a lady that work there they were very polite and nice. I took in my clothes Tuesday and the next day it was ready. I am completely satisfied and I would continue to use this store for any alterations. read more

I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get clothes altered, wonderful service and the owners were very friendly and helpful. I already recommended a friend here and will surely be coming back. read more

I thought having them sew a 2.5" patch on a hat would be a slam dunk. I went to pick up my hat today and there was gaps between parts of the logo and the hat. I wanted it tight with no gaps. I do t speak Spanish and they don't speak English, I kept pointing it out and she kept saying something I couldn't understand. Apparently a language barrier but with them being a sewing shop, they did a horrible job. Maybe they are great in other aspects, but hats aren't one of them. read more

I needed a bridesmaid dress hemmed 4 inches short and another location wanted to charge me $65. I thought that was ridiculous so I decided to try this place after passing by it a few times. Mary charged me $35 to hem my dress and she had it ready in 2 days. The dress length was perfect and her stitching was clean. I'll definitely return if I need any other alterations done. read more

Warning!!! Do yourself a favor and stay away! Completely ruined my daughter's dress!! Dishonest owners, very unprofessional and inexperienced. Dropped off my daughter's prom dress to have it hemmed and was quoted $12 at time of drop off. When I returned to pick it up they had the audacity of giving me a new price of $27. It was a simple job to do and it was hemmed completely uneven. The dress was not salvageable and I had to purchase a new one. read more

Mary's Alterations - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Pomona, California

Completely ruined my dress and overcharged!!!! All I asked was to have a coat/cover up shortened to a certain length of my dress. She asked we leave the dress do she can do the length properly. Well at least that's what I was assuming because the language barrier was HUGE. Perhaps she did not understand me. In fact I know she did not understand. The dress is ruined and I totally will not be able to wear it for my son's baptism tomorrow. Lesson learned. Little hole in the wall businesses are a DO NOT ATTEMPT. Unless they speak English or at least speak your native tongue. But in my opinion if you're going to have a business in America you should be able to speak English. Or at least speak English that you will be using on daily basis for your business. read more

One of the best tailors in Pomona. If you need your pants/jeans adjusted or a ripped shirt/blouse fixed, definitely come here. The man will determine the proper adjustments. The woman will perform the alterations. They are Spanish speaking. The "changing room" is a corner with a curtain. I recommend parking on the street/across the street. No need to ring the doorbell, just walk in. Pants/jeans alterations is $5. Fixing a ripped shirt is $3. They are extremely fast in the alterations. Expect a one day completion/pick up. I would highly recommend their service. read more

This place is amazing! The staff is always friendly, and the quality of service is amazing! I recommend this place to anyone thinking of getting clothes altered...i trust them! read more

Man, this is a bad one. You have to measure your own clothing, they won't do it for you. You can't even open the door to the building. If you want pants hemmed you have to go to your car, measure the length yourself, put the pins in, then take the clothing back, give it to the people who work there, then they tell you when to pick it up. Also, they will hack the s$!t out of your clothes claiming that this is quality work. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

Very Disappointed with this hole in the wall alterations. I called at 5:00pm and asked if they can hem up my daughters choir dress which belongs to school and I said all I want is hem up it's not ours can you do it at last min, the lady said bring it in with daughter to see Job and measure, she totally over charged me $30.00 dollars and said be back in one hour I come back and the first thing I noticed was she cut the dress which I told her not to and all she said is sorry, I'm like wtf did you do now I have to pay for this dress, my fault coming to a hole in the wall dirty unorganized shop that don't speak English read more

Great quick service, very polite and friendly will definetly come again for alterations.

Sweet lady working. Hems and tapering are affordable and done well. Don't expect a chain stitch hem for denim heads or anything like that, but my dress pants turned out to be just the right length! read more

Small lil place on Park Ave. Great service. Got my skirt resized and it came out perfect. Picked up the next day. Reasonable price

Came in to get a floor length lace dress altered. The woman was so nice and helpful, she even let me borrow heels when I forgot to bring mine in so she could hem at the right length. I was so happy with the results, my dress fit perfectly! Cash only. read more

This place saved my life! I order a dress with David bridal and it didn't zip up from my the back on the very top. I came to this place to have them add material, but I was so scared it was going to be a disaster! Once I picked it up, I was amazed of how good it looked. My dress look like it was not touched! She had it on time for the wedding just in such short time notice! Thank you so much. I loved it! I'm not kidding people this lady is great! Great affordable prize something Davids bridal couldn't do! read more

Great shop! It's a bit of a hole in the wall but I brought my bridesmaids dress here last year and they did a wonderful job tailoring it. Very affordable as well! read more

Way too expensive for a simple alternation. I was being charged about $14 for some jeggings that are about 2 inch too long and for two pairs it would of came to $27. Not worth it at all. The jeans didn't even cost that much together. read more

I have gone twice to get similar work done - each time it is a different price I am quoted almost according to her whim. She wrote one charge on the paper and then changed it when i was not looking. She upped the price from $7 to $12, randomly when I said I needed it same day. what was I expecting - professional attitude?? read more

Very reasonable prices and great workmanship! The woman working here is very kind. I would trust her with any alteration. If you need a quick turnaround (same day) it will cost slightly more, you just need to indicate that up front. read more
