Florence saved the day! Went back for my second/final fitting for my wedding dress today and she really saved my life! I was super sad to have this fitting today because we were just informed last week by our venue that our 8/9/20 wedding was cancelled due to COVID. Oh well, at least I now have the perfect dress for our 1/17/21 wedding! :) Florence was able to bustle the dress in a much less complicated way than we'd originally anticipated. She changed the bustle route after the first fitting to do what was best for the dress - to hide the bustles with the lace fabric and make sure the top dress laid appropriately over the slip dress (2 separate dresses in this case lol) when bustled. She's crazy skilled because even though the top dress is lace and sheer, you really gotta stare at it a minute to find the little bustle loops! Since we changed the bustle to something less complicated, she offered me a little refund today for the price difference in the two bustle types. I really appreciated that. Where to even start... Florence is an amazing woman. Her ability to help her customers goes beyond anything I ever experienced. I bought my wedding dress online and when it arrived it was too small, so I immediately went into panic my wedding was 5 weeks away and the dress wouldn't even go up my hips. UPDATE 2: This woman flagged my prior review for deletion so I'm posting it again without the content that allegedly violated yelp's policy. Just another testament to this woman's character. UPDATE: First of all, Florence harassed her client, ROBERTA, with non-stop text messages and phone calls after I had left the initial review. She requested that she contact me to remove the review over and over again. Florence requested that the bride bring the dress in so she could point out the alterations. Who has time for that? The wedding is over and the dress was a failure. Why should she return to that shop to be accosted by a delusional, irrational woman? My friend ultimately blocked Florence's number, as the texts and calls came fast and furiously and at all hours of the night. Secondly, Florence's response is littered with lies. SUNDAY was NOT the final fitting day, as the wedding was MONDAY in another city. Sunday was the day that the dress was to be ready, obviously. I was picking the dress up because the bride was busy doing other last minute wedding errands. The client's name was ROBERTA; however, the owner couldn't even get that right. I don't know why the response came 6 months later, and sounds like she was intoxicated at the time it was written, but I wouldn't have bothered to leave a false review. I have better things to do than conjure nonsense about a so-called seamstress in another state. AVOID THIS WOMAN AT ALL COST. Initial review: LATE and did not perform all the alterations. Not a happy bride or friend of the bride. My best friend brought her wedding dress to Florence on a Monday and was advised it would be ready by Friday (worst case Sunday 1:00 p.m.), as the wedding was on Monday in Arrowhead. She paid $80 to have the sides taken in and to add straps to the dress. On Saturday, Florence left a voice mail and guaranteed that the dress would be done by 3:00 p.m., which was very upsetting due to the fact that we HAD to be in Arrowhead on Sunday. She had also been advised that if she was unable to complete the alterations that alternative arrangements could have been made - Florence insisted she would be done in time. I had arrived at Tanaechi at 2:59 p.m. and she indicated that the dress was not ready and needed another 30 minutes. I returned at 3:39 p.m. she STILL was not done with the dress and said that it also needed a hook and eye and asked if I wanted to wait to which I responded, "YES, it needs to be perfect!!" Such an astounding question left me bewildered...who wouldn't want their wedding dress to be perfect?! I waited until she completed the alterations at 4:15 p.m., at which time she did not apologize for her tardiness or the inconvenience it caused us. When my friend put the dress on the day of her wedding, she realized that the sides had never been taken in and she was swimming in it. There was no support in the dress. I feel like Florence had probably not even started the alterations until I arrived to pick up the dress the first time and took advantage of the fact that I was picking it up and was not aware of the discussed alterations. We were both really upset with the outcome and the unnecessary drama. A wedding dress should be completed timely and to perfection and if you are expecting both, do not take your dress here. read more

Worst experience ever not only the a dress that looks like a cheap Halloween custom but when we showed for the fitting she send us back because she said it wasn't ready after over a month of working on the dress , I made it clear since the first appointment that we need the dress before the 17yh because we We're going to go out of town on the 18th we reschedule our trip schedule because she will only see us on Saturday the 18th even when she is the one that didn't have the dress on the schedule fitting appointment, the date when we went to pick the dress and we told her we didn't like it and did not look like what we order at all , she offer to fix it but this cheap ass dress is not fixable, and If someone make a such a medicocre Job in a month what can she do in a couple hours . I waste $200.00 dollars and now my daughter has no prom dress . She refund us 64.00 dollars seriously after she ruin our trip and her prom she won't event give us the money back , I understand the dress won't be the same than the original picture but this dress looks like a cheap Chinese dress from eBay . I've been waiting a year to write this. Found this place is November. Florence sketched something for me for my wedding dress, and the sketch was beautiful. I decided to go with her work. She charged me more than 50% that first day. Weird, but ok. The following months were a disaster. She would cancel appointments just an hour beforehand, and usually cancelation of appointments would happen after I tried to confirm with her. Out of the 10 appointments or so I had with her in a course of almost a year half of them were canceled. She's highly unprofessional with her appointments and communication. I didn't get to even physically touch or look at my fabric before she went ahead and put together a dress. She gave me a yellow looking ivory fabric, and it wasn't even close to the design i gave her. I hated it. Next appointment she tells me she noticed I didn't like it, so she'll make it again. She showed me two quarter sized fabric samples (like why so small). I was with my girlfriend at the time, and we choose the less yellow one together. Come next appointment, I was supposed to see a new dress, but all I see is the same yellow dress with the slight change I asked for. She tries to pass it as a completely new dress. I course do not like it, but deal with it because I'm not confrontational and was already so stressed out. In my head, I didn't want to work with her anymore and I hated the dress. I came by one day sobbing about it, that i wouldn't ask her to make me another one, i was just sad that it's not the dress i wanted. She was mean and accused me of just crying to get my way by saying to me, "you know, if I don't like something I can't just go crying to my landlord or something to get my way." Rude. I couldn't even express my feelings to this woman. She finally decides to make me another dress with actual non yellow looking fabric. Because I really had had it with her, and hated every interaction i had with her, i just accepted it, told her to skip all the beading and just give me a plain dress. From this point, it still took her 2 months to finish the dress. She promised the dress was would done 3 times before I got it. The appointment before our last, I walked up to her store and she looks me square in the eye and says "did we have an appointment?" I say yes, it's on my calendar. She proceeds to tell me she didn't write it down. I never ever felt like she respected me. She charged me an arm and a leg for an ugly, plain dress. She might be a good seamstress, I don't know. I never got to see or experience a good, professional seamstress. I experienced a headache, over charge, unprofessionalism. And now I have a dress that's is not worth the price I paid for it. I suspect now that she'll see this review and harass me, as she did to other customers who wrote a bad review. When she does, I will be sure to update my review, and take screen shots of any texts and post them here. Be careful of this woman, she's not a girl's girl. read more

I was in need of a dress for my son's wedding. I went on February 1st & was guaranteed to have it by 4/27. I went back a week later to see the fabric. There was only one fabric to choose from. I was not given a selection to choose from. I said OK and she told me I would be ready for my first fitting the first week of March. The first week of March went by, the second week of March went by the third week of March went by and I never heard from her. I started to panic and went out and bought another dress. I had already put a 50% deposit down. When I went to speak to her she said oh you should be ready by next week I said you told me I would be fitted the first week of March it's already the first week of April. Why have you not contacted me?Long story short I lost money going here. She said she had already started my dress. She showed me two 4x4 inch squares & had the nerve to complain that she had already bought the material. I'm pretty sure that my deposit more than paid for the material!! Florence recieved her deposit one October 8 2019 FINAL PAYMENT sent January 7th 2020 the wedding was in February and Florence failed not only the bride BUT the bridal party as well. Florence shouldn't blame her inconsistancy, life problems, poor communication and horrible FINAL DESIGNS on the bride. I was very disappointed for my friend because she's an amazing woman, she take care of others every day BUT FLORENCE failed to take care of her on one of the most important days in life. Florence saved the day! I went to Tanaechi's for my daughter's prom dress. Florence , the owner took her Prom dress last minute. I was very stressed out and she was very calming. I went to many other shops and no one else could alter the dress. The dress had a thin toole under the dress and a band at the bottom of the dress. She was able to keep the tool and band and kept the dress original and it was perfect 1 week before the prom date. She was a life saver, sweet, honest, finished earlier than expected and knows her stuff. We went back for a second/final fitting for the dress, it was perfect. Loved the work she did! This is being as honest as possible for anybody who is considering doing business with this woman ..DONT !!! I contemplated on leaving a review but I would hate for anybody to experience what I had to when I went to her to have my wedding dress made as well as my bridesmaids and daughters dress. She is dishonest, unprofessional , and pretty much a scammer if you ask me. She always reschedule never remember dates ghosted me for months because she claimed her mom was sick then told me she had to focus on other projects instead of mines I was so patient with Florence and she screwed me over..LONG STORY SHORT she charged me up front for everything and try to provide me with dresses I didn't ask for. The week of my wedding she didn't have not 1 of the 9 dresses completed so I had to go in a different direction for my bridesmaids and daughter to ask her to just focus on completing my dress by Friday the day before my wedding. I was able to wear my dress down the aisle although it was not what I asked or pay for the dress wasn't terrible .. but what I went through was. I trusted Florence for first dress that was made for me, however second dress I didn't. Every time I contacted her regarding my dress after it was fully paid, she had not even started the dress. I asked her for my money back because the pageant I took part in ended up not taking place. She said no I could not have my money back, and my dress still was not made. She then told me to go find someone that will pay me $500 so they can have a $500 credit with her. I had multiple phone calls with her where I just asked for my money back and she always had an excuse, or a hesitant answer. I get it we all need to pay bills, but keep it professional. I then contacted her and stated "I would like my money back". She thought I was being rude and disrespectful. She blocked both my mom and I on Facebook, which is very petty. My mother is almost 50 years old, how old are you? My mother did not do anything to Florence but try to make amends with her, and get my money back. Florence discredited me and said I was not worth anything, and the first dress she had made me was not worth me wearing. She was yelling at me on the phone. I then tried again to contact her and she started discussing her personal business with me, as well as clients personal business, and said I was putting words in her mouth regarding how bad she talked about me. Florence also said, I only treated you the way I treated you because you know a client of mine. She then contacted me letting me know she finished my dress, after everything occurred.
