a cup of coffee and a muffin

Cute coffee shop with a huge selection. I didn't want my typical choice so one of the workers made a recommendation and I'm glad I went with it. Their baked goods are fresh and tasty. Prices are decent as well.

Green Apple Lime Rickey
Jimmy H.

I've only recently started going to Marylou's but it's quickly monopolized my coffee purchases. Personally I recommend the Lime Rickey. There's plenty of flavors to choose; from green apple to raspberry. Be careful to health nuts because there IS a can of red bull in there and it does overpower a lot of the other flavors but it gives it a kick that picks me up any day of the week. The coffee is fragrant and it hits you as soon as you walk in the store. The service is always top knotch. Overall when it comes to coffee in the area. Marylous can't be beat!

I struggled a bit to decide what to order but they were patient the entire time and gave their recommendations. The place itself is cozy as well. Plenty of seating, couches, and the walls are decorated with nice art and photos. Felt very clean being in there and it wasn't too loud so I'm sure it'd be a nice spot to get some work done. I will say that my BLT took a while to come but I didn't really mind once I actually ate it. I don't know what it was about it but man it was a good BLT. I assume that it took awhile because they were making everything right on the spot so the sandwich was super fresh and crunchy. Came with a pickle and chips too! I got the hazelnut coffee with it and it was delicious. Not too sweet, not too bitter and the price for that big of a size is so worth. Will definitely be back!!

This place specializes in flavored iced coffee drinks (and I highly recommend adding the caramel). The casual cup is indeed a casual counter-serve locale. They certainly are casual with their rather long wait times. I was very surprised to see that they had gluten free bread and muffins. A big thank you to the casual cup for fueling our morning!

Don't let the small size fool you - it's well worth skipping the starbucks down the street and paying this local spot a visit. I've seen a few people on Yelp complaining about parking, but I've never had an issue. It's a busy intersection, but there's a number of street spots and I think most people don't know about the massive free lot behind the shops across the street, head over there if all the street parking is taken. The coffee itself is top tier. They have a lot of creative signature lattes, I've tried both the Tiramisu and Peanut Butter lattes and loved them equally. I don't usually order that kind of thing because I'm not a fan of overly sweet drinks, but these are perfectly balanced. One of my friends is a bit of a coffee connoisseur and also highly recommends the Yuenyeung Latte. We also recently tried some of their food options, and were really surprised at how good the bagels are here. The double cheese bacon sandwich is a must try, and all of the Croffles (croissant waffles) they serve on the weekend are soooo decadent and soooo tasty. Really happy to have this place right in my own neighborhood. I hear they're adding a larger Hingham location soon too; their success is so well deserved. Definitely slowly becoming a local favorite of mine!

The cafe itself is clean, bright, and has a nice modern aesthetic. The staff were friendly, and I can definitely see why people enjoy spending time here. The iced Americano was the highlight of my visit. At $5, it was smooth, refreshing, and priced fairly. I would gladly order it again. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed with the Mango Sticky Rice Matcha Latte. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't particularly good either. The matcha flavor was there, but the drink just felt average. At over $10.50 for a large, I expected something that really stood out. Instead, it felt like a pretty standard matcha latte with a premium price tag. Price was the biggest downside. My Americano and matcha came to almost $17, which is hard to justify for a coffee shop in Braintree. If the specialty matchas were closer to the $6 to $7 range, I think they would offer much better value. Parking was also a bit of a pain. There is parking behind the building, but depending on when you visit, finding a spot can take a little patience. Overall, I enjoyed the Americano and liked the atmosphere, but the specialty matcha did not live up to the price. I would come back for a coffee, but I would probably skip the matcha next time.

I've never felt compelled to leave a yelp review in my life until I went to coffee break on…read moresaturday morning. I come here whenever I'm in the area and am usually met with super friendly service and the coffee is always amazing but omg there was something in the air the day I went. It was super busy and they were clearly backed up and short staffed. Being in coffee service myself, I totally understand being pissed off and hate-working when busy, but I would never reflect that attitude onto my customers and always make a point to be nice no matter how much i'm dying inside. After waiting a few minutes for my order to be taken (again, i don't mind this i totally get it) i was stared at by the old lady when she was ready to take my order (No "hi how are you" or "sorry for the wait"). Just stared at. I ordered my drink and all she served me was attitude. monotone "yup" "okay" "cash or card". No thank you for the tip. Then i'm waiting for my drink and they were just behind the counter complaining the whole time for everyone to hear. I got my drinks and as the white girl hands it to me she goes "Have a WONDERFUL day!" in the most phoney cheery voice. I was like okay girl you too!! Like your whole staff just gave me a sour attitude and then you hit me with some fake niceness. I'm a 20 year old girl too passive to not smile and thank them for their horrible service. Coffee was gas as always but i just left appalled at how miserable the staff was.

They have tons of flavored coffees that aren't sweetened, the flavors are in the beans. I tried their monthly special Dough Boy flavor which had a marshmallow cookie flavor that was delicious. No indoor seating, which was a bummer, but there are some outdoor seats set up!
