I contacted the business online and received a text AND voicemail an hour or so later. When I called back and spoke to Steve, he and I had such a great conversation about computers. He gave me his address and I took the laptop to him. Imagine my surprise to receive a video by text only 20 minutes later, telling me his diagnosis! The hard drive was kaput. He said he could install a new one for me and we discussed some options about buying one. As it turned out, I recalled that I had purchased an extended warranty which would cover a replacement. So he thanked me for my business and said I could pick it up anytime. He gave me the student discount because the laptop actually belongs to my grandson, who is in 5th grade. :D And at $62.50 I am exceptionally happy. I'm telling you, if I ever need any help with all the laptops in our family (which I maintain) I will definitely go to PPCS again!!

She and I checked with some other local repair places, and got [phone] estimates of $99 and up, and $80 and up..."depending". She also tried the campus techies, and was told "We aren't licensed to work on Lenovo" (I was not aware a special license is needed to pull a broken plug out of a Lenovo laptop! I wonder who monitors that?! ) Today she took it to DNS Technology Group, a few blocks from campus. Fixed it in a few minutes, 25 bucks! And super-nice people, according to my daughter. So props and a 5 star rec for these guys (but be aware they have somewhat limited hours)

How many businesses these days do you know of that actually combine integrity and skill to deliver what they say they will - and at a reasonable cost? If you read the About section on their website, it mentions personal relationships with customers. That's no sales pitch - it's true. I've only had sporadic computer issues over the years and, amazingly, every time I've spoken with him, it's like talking to a friend. He knows his customers! Couple that with the fact that Sam broke away from the corporate world to bring his skills directly to the public and he's definitely earned my loyalty.

I found the basic price for service at $99 to be more than reasonable, though I was told that it would take about two weeks for my computer to be diagnosed. The day after that, my computer was ready for pickup, good as new. Overall, very happy with the experience.
