I must've taken a wrong turn leaving Detroit, because suddenly I was in Canada. If you're going to…read moreaccidentally cross an international border, landing next to a poutinery isn't the worst. Frenchy's sits in a shopping center anchored by a Shoppers Drug Mart and a "Gaming Center" (aka casino). Walking up to the counter, I immediately noticed the lineup of meat choices and toppings. It's the kind of menu that makes you pause for a second, not because it's complicated, but because everything looks like a good idea. All sorts of protein options from Chicken to "Montreal Smoked Meat". I got the Gyro. Ordering was quick, and the food came out fast and fresh. The gravy was the standout. This wasn't that fast‑food slop. It was beefy, rich, the kind of gravy that actually tastes like something. Combined with the cheese curds and toppings, it made for a proper Canadian comfort‑food moment. And the portions? Massive. The kind of serving that makes you wonder if you accidentally ordered for two. Frenchy's is definitely playing in the "feed the masses" category, and they're doing it well. I took half my order back across the border for later. Bottom line: If you find yourself wandering into Windsor, intentionally or not, Frenchy's is a worthy stop for that authentic Pountne cuisine.

Really hot fresh fries with tasty gravy and real cheese curds. Can't ask for any more than that…read more Will return in the future to try their Montreal smoked meat on the poutine.

I had supper this evening at Grill 55…read more I felt like something snacky so ordered wings with medium sauce. I swapped the blue cheese dipping sauce for ranch sauce. The wings were okay. They had a special on Steamwhistle beer. Buy a litre of beer for $10 and you keep the bottle (surprisingly my server didn't make it known to me ... I saw some guy order it). I like Steamwhistle so how could I not?!

Honestly not bad for a restaurant attached to a hotel. I wouldn't have expected much - and don't…read moreget me wrong, it's nothing earth shattering - but I was pleasantly surprised. I've eaten here 4-5 times now on business trips while staying at the Holiday Inn (which was also nice, see my review). Not sure about the weekend staff, but the bartender-slash-servers during the week are great. Very helpful in selecting a local brew or appetizer, and they can hustle when the place gets busy. The draft lineup is small but crafty and decent. Liquor drinks and shots are all metered, which is sad but understandable. For food, I've had the wings, the veggie stir fry, and the steak tips salad. The wings have been my favorite, with the jerk sauce. The other two dishes were both pretty respectable though. And they offer complimentary homemade bread pre-order meal! Nice touch. It's hard for me to comment on prices, being an American who's been shocked by every price I've seen in Windsor (wtf lcbo??), but it seems to be in the ballpark of what you'd expect for a hotel restaurant.
