They do not seem that organized from the get. Everyone running around but no real hostess station to sign in at or check in. The lady that was being hostess was a bit absent minded. Forgot she didn't give us our menus. My dinning partner and I finally ordered from what seemed to be our waitress. Busy yes took a little bit to get the food out. I had decided on the steak sandwich no onions. Not a huge fan of them in general. It came out I had high hopes as I was craving steak. Highly disappointed. I asked for Medium. There is no hint of pink in that meat and it is so damn thin it would have been cooked about a minute on each side. The steak had no flavor on top of being over cooked the bread had the flavor and I can see they used the onions as a crutch for flavor in this dish. The steak fries were your average frozen steak fries. Fried and barely salted. Which I had to ask another table for their salt as our table didn't have one and the waitress didn't want to come back to the no mans land section where they drop people off to forget about. I tried to use ketchup and salt and pepper to jazz up my sandwich but it failed. I still can't believe all the people and no one can get a refill. Not for my dates ice tea or my coke. If you have time to kill and want to throw $50 down the drain for less than fair service and bland food this would be the place to go. read more

Terrible. Two parties were waiting in line for a table at the hosts station. It was pretty busy but it was very obvious as we're in a line. Then a Mexican woman and her kids came through the door. It was obvious they had just arrived. She didn't ask who was there first. She had a conversation with this Mexican family in Spanish (yes I understand fluently) and told them it'd be a second as they set up the table. The staff are never really impressive and it's really hard to get anything refilled every time we go. They take your order and never come back. This was my first time coming to Marvin's... Had an excellent Sunday brunch this morning! I had the chilequilles with red sauce. It came with two eggs cooked any style. I chose over easy cuz that's how I roll. The chillequilles came with a decent amount of avocado maybe about half an avocado, it had some nicely diced red onion, some tasty Queso fresco (fresh Mexican style cheese), and a few spoonfuls of sour cream. My wife had the Chile rellino omelet. Which was HUGE!!! It came with perfectly cooked country potatoes and a side of toast! She could not finish it!LMAO! Both dishes were cooked to perfection, and had the most wonderful flavors! The place was packed, and yet we were able to be seated in less than 10 minutes... The coffee was just your average run of the mill greasy spoon diner coffee. It was a bit on the watery side. But was still good and not bitter. We came on Saturday at 9:30 a.m., there was ample of parking at the lot shared with other businesses. No wait to get in or get seated. The place could use an upgrade. Customer service was efficient and friendly. Spanish and English is spoken here. Plenty of options on their menu. We ordered coffee, pork chops and chilaquiles. It took about 10 minutes to get our food. Pork chops were served with choice of eggs and choice of potatoes (hash browns or country potatoes). Pork chops were very juicy and tasty. Chilaquiles were served with carne asada (choice of cooking level), choice of eggs, and a side of tasty spicy salsa. The dish was delicious, but chilaquiles were cold. Sadly, this place is going down hill! I use to really like Marvin's but the past few times I've been here they've gotten my order wrong. I'm not customizing my order, ordering straight off the menu and it's wrong. This morning I ordered a bacon, avocado, and sour cream omelet with cheddar cheese and instead of giving me bacon they gave me chunks of beeflike how do you honestly mix up bacon with beef?? I have been going to this restaurant probably for a minimum of 20 years! although it's gone through two different owners. The owners now have definitely stuck to the original menu from the original restaurant that started over 30 years ago in Petaluma. They have delicious Mochas and it is always the first thing I order and not to be missed is their famous zucchini sticks and you must try the horseradish dipping sauce! OMGEEEE too dang good! I always order extra sauce. it's something I have to order every time I walk in the door. They have all the good old fashioned breakfasts. I always get the Chile Relleno omelette and I pour that Green Tabasco sauce all over it, it's spicy fantastic! They also have really fluffy homemade biscuits you can get butter or honey or both they go perfectly with any of your breakfast entrées! The service is usually very good and they're always very sweet and efficient. They can get a little busy in the middle afternoon on the weekends. Marvin's is my usual go-to breakfast spot. Especially when I'm in the mood for chilaquiles! I recommend chilaquiles rojos con chorizo (red chilaquiles with chorizo). They're flavorful and have a great portion size too. I also recommend the Mexican Eggs Benedict. You need to ask for a side of the spicy salsa roja to add to your meal! The staff is always very friendly and never seems to be in a bad mood. They get really busy so the wait for Marvin's can be pretty long, especially Sunday morning so be prepared to wait. They are able to accommodate large groups, we came here for Fathers Day with a group of about 15. We weren't the only group in their back room. They slip checks here which is nice too. My husband had their Steak Chilaquiles and I had the Huevos Rancheros, they food was good and good portion size for the price. My negatives for this restaurant are they said over the phone that they had gluten free pancakes but do not, their ONLY gluten free options are the items that are naturally gluten free. I didn't see the regular part of the restaurant but the back room looks forgotten. They could work on the decor more and organize it a little better back there. I did walk around the outside with my son and noticed the outdoor seating looked really nice. I'd suggest asking to be seated out side if you choose this restaurant. Good breakfast place. The highlight of the show was the French Toast, pretty good. Everything was cooked just right (not burnt) except for the slice of bacon on the side. It was basically a shank at that point, but the staff politely replaced it was a proper cooked one. The breakfast sandwich was good stuffed with avocado as well. The bread was some kind of sourdough slathered in butter that made it good along with some kind of berry syrup as a jam, yum. The omelet's proportions were off and could use a bit more vegetables inside, not impressed. My big let down was the hashbrowns, most people screw this one up though.
