A little background: Two-weeks prior I cleaned out the trap on a clogged sink and here it was again not draining. So I decided this plumbing job was best done by a professional. After calling DTP I had one of my master bath sinks unclogged by Rock Hillman, a Master Plumber. Rock is a great guy and was a genuine pleasure having him in my house. The job, by the way, was no simple task. After doing the obvious, running the drain auger, the sink was still stopped up. But now the powder room sink also was filling with water and black drain chunks (yuck!). To compound the problem, the way the plumbing was run by the home builder two sinks shared one line so when Rock tried running the auger it simply ended up going into the other sink's drain. (Cheap builder!) Ordinarily the plumber would just access a clean-out drain and free the clog. Simple. Except there was no clean-out and to make matters worse, no access to the vent in the attic or upstairs bath room. (Cheap builder!) This is where experience pays off though. Rock estimated exactly where the pipe was located, in the wall (conveniently behind the bathroom mirror) and then opened up a small ten-inch hole to put the drain auger down. Two-minutes later, both drains were draining great. After sealing the drain with a removable patch so the pipe can be accessed in the future and another five-minutes, the mirror was back up and the job was done. Bottom line is if you want plumbing done right call Doug Turner.

The technician was able to help stop the leak. He even inspected all of my bathrooms after mentioned the history of water damage. He went to check my sink and and helped with my sink leaking as well. Overtime the caulking of the sink detiorated so we had him remount the kitchen sink. He also help correct the water line from which our water filter was incorrectly back washing. Secretary answered, asked a few questions, went away and came back and gave me a labor quote of $350/hr for the first 2 hrs, then $150/hr after that. So, I contacted TDT, and Vic called me back, asked extensive questions, and suggested that it wasn't a pipe leak, but that the water was coming from outside, and that he didn't want to come out and do work and find that it wasn't the plumbing and then still charge me. Sure enough, a couple of simple tests I did confirmed it. Now you know why I said it's a strange review. I am currently having a nightmarish leak that we noticed at first as ceiling stains that grew over…read morea 3 day period. Called DYZ and 4 other companies that said they were working on Labor day. DYZ is the only company that picked my call. The others never responded to my messages. DYZ is a highly professional group. They had a busy day so the Customer service rep set me up for an appointment day after labor day (today) and promised to call if a tech became available on labor day. By 2PM I got the call. Janis, the technician that came to find the source of the leak, was extremely knowledgable and businesslike. He inspected the walls above and around the leak, the Attic and AC unit and was so knowledgable he assured us that the water stain patterns suggest we don't have a leaky pipe. Rather we have a crack somewhere in the bathroom that is letting water in. Then he correctly suggested someone was having luxe showers that lasted more than 20mins thus giving the water sufficient volume to puddle and create a source for the "leak." I knew he was onto something because this character exists in my home. He talked about the perils of our fiberglass shower bin as a potential culprit and he was right. He cut the ceiling by following the track of water stains and found the epicenter not long after. Bad news is we have to replace the shower bin. Good news is thanks to Janis, we have an accurate assessment. If we had a leaky pipe I won't hesitate to give them the contract. Janis is an experienced "water tracker." I definitely will call them if I ever had a plumbing problem. They know what they are doing and are courteous. They explain each problem and recommendation to you - the whys. They are simply very good.

Project: Water Heater Installation…read more Alex was professional, arrived on time, extremely experienced and polite. He was scheduled for a repair on various items relating to gas. After the diagnosis, he made a few recommendations ... not an upsale but a requirement due to the age of the unit. Ultimately, a new water heater was installed plus other items. The project was completed in a timely manner. They cleaned up nice and hauled away everything. After a few months, the inspector reported the water heater was manufactured in 2005 and hence, out of warranty. I contacted Alex and he responded. It turned out the inspector made an error which resulted with incorrect information. The unit was manufactured in 2025. This goes to show you Alex will not ghost you after the work was installed and invoice was fully paid. He will help you with whatever you need after the work has been done and paid for. That says a lot about the business and its integrity. Character counts! I highly recommend Alex! You be glad you did!

The…read moreold tank had sprung a major leak and was dripping water all over garage floor (& then into buckets we'd placed beneath the tank). What a mess! The first heater the young plumbers, Devin & Ontario, installed wouldn't keep a lit pilot light. The honest business owner, Donald, drove out to my house to have a look, confirmed that the first new water heater was defective, and told the guys to do it all over again. So Devin & Ontario carefully removed their first install and installed another new water heater. They left their work area squeaky-clean and installed the new on/off gas & water valves as I'd specifically requested. They started at 10AM that morning and finished everything by 3:00 PM. Best of all, they did not add a single charge onto the quote Donald gave us, despite doing twice the labor. I love my new fancy huge water heater! Great job, Modern Plumbing!
