Went in to rent a weedeater for a small project. Please note I have never rented anything from this establishment. Called ahead to confirm a weedeater to be checked out. Gentleman put me on hold for 20 mins and then proceeded to tell me that there is one available. I arrived and go to the rental desk-waited 5 mins and no one was around. Walk to the front of the store to have another associate call in help. Now I'm at the rental desk with an employee. He now tells me that there are NO weed eaters or weed trimmers available. I settle on a hedge trimmer. He goes back and realizes that there is a weed trimmer. It takes over an hour to leave Marvin's. After he found the missing weedeater, my name and phone number wasn't registering for the system meaning they couldn't check it out to me. I asked for more fuel and string for it and only provided me with extra fuel. I paid for 24 hr rental. I get off work and drop it back off within the 24 hour threshold. Wait in line at the rental desk while one employee assists other customers. I came to drop off the machine, fuel can and to get my $50 security deposit back. They can't sign into the system to get my security deposit back. I've been standing for 50 mins now. He says other managers have gone home and cannot help him. I told him I'm going home. I took a photo of the employee thumbs up with equipment below as proof with timestamp. I will be calling tomorrow to get my security deposit back. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. Will be the first and last time using their business. If your don't have time to burn don't go to Marvin's!!! read more

Do not rent a U-Hual from here. I took a one way flight from West Palm Beach. Then took a $70 uber to get here and there was no instructions to get my keys for the $650 reservation. I was stranded with no car, no heat, no food. The door was unlocked so I slept in the haul until I could find a ride. It was 36 degrees. U-Haul said there was nothing they could do. When I called in the morning, Marvin's rep could have cared less that I could've caught pneumonia, gotten robbed, or that it cost me time, effort and money to pick up a rental that was prepaid to help my mom move. This was a disaster and now I feel like I am very sick. read more

It seems every time I go here to get something that I need, they never have it. It seems that they stock more of the items that people do not need than they do of the more commonly used items. When you need help you also have to go and track down an employee to get help. I will still stop here to see if they have items I need when I need them but that is only because it is close to my house... maybe they will turn it around. read more

Moncks Corner doesn't have the big DYI stores like Lowes or Home Depot, but we do have Marvin's, which nine out of ten times is just right. Tools, hardware, plants, paint, just about everything you need for the everyday little jobs around the house. Very nice people, too. I've been hiking around in an AirCast boot following some leg surgery, and they consistently offer to help carry or load what I need to my trusty ol' Ranger pickup. Convenient and workers generally pleasant, but usually out of what you need which sometimes they don't even know until after they charge you and send you to warehouse area to pick up.... then you have to come back in for a refund! This was a great place before the ownership change. Could not get away from helpful employees. Not so much now, employee told me that drywall mud was the same as thin set for tile. The next one when asked where the thin set was said "no we don't sell tents" Another would not answer my question, just said someone will be here soon. I avoid this store at all times, I'll drive the 20 minutes to Lowes in goose creek before I go in there again. Tractor supply has a lot of hardware items also! This place is great! I go in there all the time for whatever random fastener or tool I need for whatever I'm working on and they always have what I need. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The bad reviews must have been under the old management because they are not representative of the store as it is now. read more

I went to Marvin's today to buy a Case xx Trapper "Whiskey Worn Bone Knife". I wanted the knife in the display and the dumb saleswoman said, "No" ! She picked out the right number , but there was a different knife when I got home. I had to drive 5 miles back to the store. Every knife with that number was different than the one I wanted. I bet the boxes got mixed up. I tried to tell her that maybe they got mixed up. And she was a know-it all and would not even check. I believe that other colored knife cost more. I believe when someone tries to buy that other knife, they will come up with a whiskey worn trapper knife. I have one arm and I was disrespected by a know-it-all woman ! I am a vet. It could of been a factory mistake , I'll never know. I was treated like an idiot. I believe I was over charged. read more

Nowhere near the helpful staff of Ace Hardware. Employees do not know the specifics of their departments , shelves are missing stock, and you have to send out a search party to actually get someone to help you. A staff member stood chatting it up with a customer about hunting and fishing long after he had been helped ignoring the other customers waiting patiently for assistance . I have been in here on 3 separate accessions and it was the same each time. I will drive to Lowe's now. read more

I don't live near here so I haven't been in since the change in ownership. It is markedly different than the times before. The staff aren't as friendly and the garden section looked as if they were phasing it out. One employee said hello to me, but the two cashiers said nothing as I left. I expect that at big box stores, but when this was Central that would not have happened. Not sure if I'll bother stopping back in to see if things change. read more

Terribly disappointed in the customer service. I needed to buy shelving board. Walk around the store which is clearly disorganized. I understand that it has recently been changed but still hard to find items. No one at the " Solution desk" for about 15 minutes as employees walked by without saying hello or trying to see what I needed. Walked back to the contractor desk and a male there stood and looked through a book about five minutes without acknowledging my presence and or greeting me. I walked back to the still unmanned "Solution Desk" and waited another five minutes until I finally walked around and found an employee and asked for assistance. She said there should be shelving in the store but didn't know where it was. She also asked if I had went to the solution desk..... I walked down every isle no shelving board! Maybe I was spoiled when it was central hardware but it is truly lacking in customer service!! Headed 20 minutes out of my way to Lowe's! read more

I called on 04/11/2019 at 4:27pm the phone rang 14 times before they picked up a woman answered very nasty asking what she can do to help me I asked to speak to someone in building material so she put me on hold about 30 seconds later she came back on and said " nobody will pickup call back later at which time I told her I was on a tight time table and really need to know about some building material very nasty she said hold on and less than a minute later the phone started ringing again and rang 12 times at which time someone picked up the phone and then hung up. I called back the phone rang 3 times and a woman named Joyce answered very nicely and asked to help me again I asked for building material to which I was quickly connected, a man answered and I asked for MDF at which time he very shortly replied we don't stock any MDF and hung up. Thank you Joyce you were the only pleasant part of the whole conversation. read more
