Marty's sold me a used tire with a hole in it and refused to swap it out for a good tire. I know it was sold to me with the hole because my flat tire indicator came on the next day without any driving on it. I made the decision to buy all new tires from another source since Marty's is not competitive for new tires. Anyway, I told Marty's I wanted a different tire so I could try to sell their used ones and they refused. It is their policy only to patch their own tires even if they sold you a bad one! Landed at Seatac on Saturday night of Labor Day Weekend to find a flat tire. !*&@!!* Threw on the donut spare and started frantically searching online because... WHO'S GONNA BE OPEN ON SUNDAY OF LABOR DAY WEEKEND TO FIX A FLAT? Answer #1: none of the big name chains (including the one where I bought the tires). Answer #2: Marty's -- I showed up first thing Sunday morning and was back on the road in 15 minutes. Since the place has a certain, shall we say, ramshackle quality, I carefully observed what they were doing, drawing on my own experience working on tires in a gas station many years ago. Everything they did looked to me like what they should be doing. They checked the inflation on all the other tires, too. Three months later and the repair is still holding up. For a place that has a 5-star rating, I was actually quite disappointed with the service initially received. We were looking to get one tire fixed that previously had a nail in it, and was looking to get it taken out and plugged back in. At first there was a younger gentleman that asked if we needed any help, explained what we were looking to get done, and said it would cost $50! After declining and waiting around for awhile, an older gentleman with a beard came around to assist, and ended up saying the service could be done for $30... smh. read more

I took my flat tire over to the place where I bought the set. Their verdict: "Unfixable, get a new set of tires for $650 because car is AWD." I got a second opinion at Marty's, their verdict: "Your tire isn't leaking where they said it was, it's leaking here. And either way it's totally fixable." Marty, Gabriel, and Karl's Tire, Inc. (UBI 601 841 665) dba "Marty's Tire" is in disappointing decline. The unusual neighborhood shop always presented as a poorly maintained dump but had a reputation for prompt completion of simple wheel and tire servicing jobs at fair prices. Current operations have adopted a discriminatory ripoff business approach. They avoid written quotes and make deceptive verbal agreements. Once they have your property for ransom they size you up to extort additional charges. There is no regard for maintaining repeat customers. A pair of uninstalled cleaned alloy rims with mounted winter tires was dropped off with near new A/S tires for a simple tire remount and balance job. They quoted a price consistent with the same service on prior visits. Completion only required a few minutes, but then they demanded double the quoted price and feigned to have intended the pricing to be per wheel. An absurd charge of $68.20 was demanded for mounting two commonplace 245/40-18 size tires on OEM wheels. This is far in excess of even premium road-force mount and balance jobs at high-end shops for the same tire size. They returned wheels smeared with grease and dirt and defaced the tires with huge indelible text markings. Unnecessary large indecipherable markings had been placed in permanent white marker on both sidewalls and the treads. I had to do extensive solvent cleaning to remove the markings. Reference photos - it looked like territorial gangs tagged the tires. Demonstrating further disrespect for customer property, at retrieval they had the audacity to challenge whether the unmounted winter tires were mine. For payment they require taking your credit card out of your view and physical control so beware of the prospect of facilitating credit card fraud. On being confronted with the deceitful pricing tactic the worker demanding payment whined about being entitled to top compensation for such "back-breaking work". Considering no wheel removal or installation on a vehicle was involved and I had to lug wheels and tires to and from their entry, the task was far from challenging for the employee. A straightforward tire mount/balance on wheels off a vehicle is the least demanding task any tire shop is expected to perform yet this shop extorts a $248/hr. rate + tax for a 15 minute task. Only a few weeks following the death of Marty Reichlin, founder of this well known establishment, it exemplifies another Burien business that has transformed into an unscrupulous low-life operation. The legacy business which still bears Marty's name is now dishonored by cheats. NEVER trust any aspect of the present Marty's Tire business. read more

Went through a maze of used tires to get to the section where my tire sizes were. All the tires are marked with the price. Got actually a used brand new tires (still had the factory line on it). Amazing! Efficient, polite, straight-forward. I had an air leak from a nail puncture in my rear right tire. I first went to the tire techs at Costco who told me I would need to buy a brand new set of tires for several hundred dollars, and that it must be a full set of four since my Subaru is AWD. I called Marty's on a Friday and same day went to their shop in Burien. The moment that I pulled in to their driveway, I told the friendly technician I think I might need a set of tires. He said that wouldn't be necessary as I have practically new tires and he could fix it with a patch and that I would be in and out in five minutes for under twenty bucks, which included a six-month guarantee. And he was right! It was unbelievable. They really are like a nascar pit the set-up they had going there. No need to get my car on the pneumatic lift, I watched as they jacked up the rear end of my Subaru, took the tire off, made the patch, put my tire back on, and done. I was in and out in record time, and wasn't sold anything I didn't need. They were so fast and helpful and I recommend them to anyone. Completely worth the drive to Burien. read more

This is the FIRST yelp review I have ever written. My experience today was so good I couldn't not post a review. Here's my situation. I had 4 new tires kicking around in my garage, I wanted them installed on existing wheels. 16" wheel size. I called around and visited all the major tire shops. Costco wouldn't touch my tires cause I didn't buy them there. Firestone, Les Schwab, Courtesy Tire, and Elliott Tire and service all wanted over $100 (up to $140) for dismount, mount, balance, new stems, and disposal. Also I was getting estimates of 2-3 hours for turnaround. I could never fit it in my schedule so I put it off for another day. Riding the bus to the airport, I saw Marty's out the bus window, with tires piled up high. Seemed like my kind of place. I called them, and they only want $19 per tire for all the services I needed (other tires sizes might be different). I drove down there about lunch time on Saturday, and they walked right out to my car, asked what I needed, and started jacking it up. About 4 different guys touched my car/tires/wheels in the process and their efforts were well coordinated. I had a concern about some of the studs, so they cleaned up the threads with a die set and said they were fine. No charge for that. The best part: I WAS IN AND OUT IN 30 MINUTES! So if you ever need a leaky/flat tire fixed or replaced for cheap, I think this is the place to go. There's no waiting room so you'll be standing outside, but that's how they save you money. Their sign also advertises they do welding and mufflers but I didn't have that service done. read more

On the recommendation from one of the big tire stores, I found this place. I could not afford a new set of tires, and my remaining three still had 60% tread on them. We pulled up on the day of the 2.5" rainfall and the place was buzzing with customers. Not only is the business straight out of a movie set in its atmosphere, the staff are also all characters. They must all be related somehow. Six or seven guys were waiting to help us in the pouring rain. They immediately found me the PERFECT tire, with matching treadwear, for 60 bucks (installation included) and had me on my way. When I need NEW tires, I am going back to these guys. Yes, it looks like a junkyard, and that is the charm. It is organized and buzzes like a well oiled machine. read more

Have had good service in the past having tire leaks repaired, so today (12/27/19), I bought and they mounted three new 195/65R15 Milestar MS392 Sport tires and the charge was $99 each (plus tax). That seemed too high so when I got home I googled and Walmart.com advertises the same tire for $47 + $15-$25 to mount. If you need new tires, check around before buying from Marty. read more

We had our tire changed across the street at Pablano tire shop and apparently they failed to remove all the water from the tire, after $300+ put towards figuring out why our car shook while driving we took it to Marty's (where they never let us down) and the guy figured out the problem is that there was a lot of water in the tire which caused it to shake when we'd hit the highway.
