However, I'm wasn't thrilled how it was a Pittsburgh bar (I'm a bengals and reds fan by the way) or how i felt the hoagies could use more meat . OK so I give it 4 out of 5 stars only b/c I've only been there once. But if the follow up trips are as good as the 1st, it'll be a 5star. FINALLY, a wonderful pizza. Thin, hand/home made dough, home made sauce, cooked just right. We went in @3:30p on Saturday. Both the manager and the waitress greeted us- super friendly. Gave us plenty of time to look over the menu since this was our first visit. We ordered Mozza-Muna - 1//2 moon of mozzarella cheese, deep fried accompanied by their home made sauce. Hubby (the traditionalist) had a pizza w/ cheese & pepperoni (I thought the pepperoni was spicy- but I'm not a pepperoni fan). I ordered the Mediterranean pizza- pizza sauce, feta, mozzarella, artichokes. Loved it!! Prices were good. We will go back. Can't wait to try some of their other authentic Italian dishes. We love the wings. We do not love the service. I'm sure some of the people who work here are lovely, but we've had the same person the last 2 times and he seemed bothered that we were there. We went there for burger-week and tried their Pittsburgh burger. They took ages to take our order and the food arrived almost more than an hour later. The angus beef patty was juicy and tasty but instead of buns it had a toasted bread which wasn't tasty and there was no cheese. Just tomato and lettuce. Plus it came with chips which was too deep fried so had a bitter taste. Overall for the price it was an okay meal. read more

Menu is sprawling -- lots of pizza/hoagie/general pub grub options, with many selections that look more interesting than you usually see in similar joints. I've been here twice: First time had a Mediterranean Pizza (decent vegetarian combo with artichokes and feta), second time had half an Italian Stallion hoagie (multiple meat sub). Both times left stuffed for less than $9 (took some pizza home in fact). Friend with me had a salad, and it was also huge and fresh-looking. Nothing mind-blowing when it comes to food, but no complaints either. Full bar with middling liquor lineup (sadly, no Campari). Service ranges from enthusiastic to nonplussed. Nearly every concert I go to at Bogarts, I find myself at Martino's for drinks & to try another of their amazing subs. Not a fan of the spicy sausage sub, but the other half a dozen I've tried have knocked it out of the park. The pizza is great. The drinks are strong. My cousin introduced me to it, we've brought others to it, & it is a strong go-to spot for food & drinks before an event. Five stars for the excellent bar service and homey atmosphere. The bartender I had was pretty hot as well. Some of the food isn't really my cup of tea, but they have some really good options if you know what to get (the ribs are incredible as is the Bianco pizza). 4/22/2017 Update I gave this dump another shot before going to a show at Bogart's. The place looked like a ghost town other than a couple dirty, seedy, squirrelly looking guys working there. I ordered a baked ziti. You would think simple enough not to screw up. It came out still half frozen. I ended up eating about a quarter of it because we were in a hurray. The apparent Manager came over and said that you get what you pay for? The worst part is that I was sick for the next four days. My guests who were in from out of town were ill as well. The food has always been delicious but the service has a lot to be desired. The male server never introduced himself, we ordered an appetizer of chicken wings and told him we'd be ready to order by the time the wings came out he came before and took our order which was an order of pizza tots and the black angus 3/4 mop burger cooked MEDIUM . When the food was delivered the server didn't say a word just dropped and left. I started to take THE BURGER APART BC THE BUN WAS CHARBROILED BEYOND BELIEF SO I TOOK THE BURGER OFF THE BUN IN HOPES OF SALVAGING IT BUT NOPE IT WAS WELL DONE AND CHARD BEYOND BELIEF AS WELL. THE WAITER TOOK 15 minutes to come back to the table to ask if we needed anything at this point we have a FCC game we would be late for if they attempted to recook. He took the burger off the table and came back and said. I took it off your check! Customer service is not a priority here now the Mgr who walked past our table several times and never stopped. And is currently sitting right behind us with other guests as I leave without having eaten. Once again the food here is normally great but have not had any customer service at all... and as the server drops the check off he doesn't say a word just did what I call a drive by... well that's what we will do when are thinking about eating at Martino's , we will just drive by and keep going... read more

If you live in or visit Cincinnati and fail to visit Martino's you're missing out. The staff is so incredibly friendly, the food is delicious (and prices are beyond reasonable), and the owner (Marti) is involved, friendly, and visible. I was in town from Fort Lauderdale for the Bengals vs Steelers game and chose to stop in because I am a Steelers fan, and Martino's was reviewed as a Steelers bar (and it definitely is). But it is much more than that. The stuffed hot peppers reminded me of what my family makes, the "small" Italian hoagie that ran us approximately $10 was easily enough for two to share (it was enormous), and everything else that we tried in our two visits over the weekend did not disappoint either. We went around 8:00 and were seated immediately. The seating was plentiful and spaced out nicely so we didn't feel crowded. We were promptly waited on by the server. I ordered the lena's cheese planks and the fettucini alfredo via doordash. I'm sad to say that they both tasted absolutely horrible. The alfredo sauce tasted worse than canned sauce. The cheese in the cheese planks was rubbery and the marinara sauce had a weird after taste. The best thing was the garlic bread and the salad, and even with the salad the tomatoes weren't all that good either. They defintely need some revisions to their recipes for these items. read more

Just stopped in to watch the 2nd half of the Bengals game and have lunch. The place was almost empty and immediately we were turned away. I believe the reason to be is that we had Bengals shirts on. The worker said the place was reserved for the Pittsburg game and offer to let us sit outside in the hot sun with no tv's to watch the game. Again the place was empty. Never had an experience like that in the past. I've had many meals at Martinos because I prefer to spend my $ at local establishments. Even though their food is very bland I continued to go there. We went to Martinos on opening day for the FCC soccer game. We were so happy and surprised that it wasn't packed and we got a table close to the outside desk, but still in the shade. If forced to choose, I'd say this place is quantity over quality. My Philly Cheese Steak and my fiancees Calzone were gigantic! We both struggled to even eat half of each. I described mine as "ok...it's fine" and he said the calzone was "meh." Certainly not BAD, just not great by any means. I will say the fries were pretty fantastic! Came here regularly when I was in college for the alcohol since it was a college bar. Now they seem to try and steer in the direction of a family restaurant. We came here after the UC football spring game and since it was nice out so we sat outside and had some drinks and ordered food. The restaurant was not super busy but there was a lot going on on shortvine but it seems like the area has been cleaned up a little compared to how it used to be, so, it's good to see most of the riff-raff being pushed out of the area. I ordered the fajita burrito (which was huge!) along with a side of sweet potato fries. One of the others ordered wings and another ordered a hoagie which was also really big. I can tell you that no matter what entree you order you get a lot of bang for your buck here and the staff is friendly and they have a huge beer selection. I've had the personal pizzas before and they're great as well. Everything I've had on their menu I've enjoyed. read more

I go here before and after UC games and occasionally to carry out a nacho mountain or half Sicilian. I visit Martino's because it is family owned and they hustle to help the customers. They aren't going to blow you away with craft cocktails or farm-to-table food. Not a Steelers fan, but enjoy an IC Light once in awhile. read more

Stromboli so big it won't fit on your dinner plate!! Definitely enough to share with 3-4 people; they have several precreated options or build your own. The pizza dough is the perfect amount of chewiness with a great yeasty flavor. Sauce could be a bit sweeter for my taste but all in all a great value. read more

Massive servings packed with delicious Italian flavor. Atmosphere isn't great but the food makes up for the Keno screens and Steelers gear. Pretty much everything I've had here has been solid, from the Pittsburgh steak salad to the Volcano to the Mobster two-foot mega-hoagie. Ask about their dessert and they may surprise you with cheesecake wrapped in dough then deep-fried, with strawberry sauce and powdered sugar drizzled on top, or light, crispy, cinnamony zeppole. I would never recommend this place to anyone. I've been there several times foods always great but service is terrible every time but tonight was something else. They had a concert across the street, Cincinnati football game, and a Steelers event going on. They have one server in the back sections that can fit 3 parties about 8-10 people, 2 two top tables, and 4 four top tables. This server (never got her name) was very rude telling us before we ordered food was taking 45 minutes which was fine with us. She brings our drinks and runs to her next table. Takes 30 minutes for her to wipe our table off, we tell her we are ready to order she states, "oh your still gonna order" with an eye roll. We ordered and waited an hour and a half for food that never came so we left. We over heard someone say there was only 3 cooks. THREE, that's it, knowing you have all these events in one night.
