He came to see the apartment and took the job understanding that a lot of the work would be "fixing" things the previous contractor did wrong as well as finishing the renovation. It was a hard position for them to come into but they did an amazing job. I love the apartment and everything they "fixed", restored and built. The staff who work there are not just there just to do a days work, they care about the quality of their work and really try to give you exactly what you want. I lived in the apartment during the project. Everyone who worked on my job was respectful, professional and took care to leave the house in the best condition they could after working in the apartment all day long. You are very fortunate." We could not agree more. BER transformed our 130-year-old home with extraordinary skill and care. They stripped the old shingles and clapboards, applied multiple layers of protective barrier to the original walls, and installed new state-of-the-art composite clapboards and cedar shingles. The bottom course of shingles was individually notched to replicate the original detail, and the dentil molding was reconstructed by hand. The team also completely rebuilt our bays in PVC that, once painted, is indistinguishable from wood. Every line, corner, and transition is precise. They worked through extraordinary conditions--from 10-degree winter days to 100-degree summer heat--without ever compromising their focus, craftsmanship, or attention to detail. Joe Danz oversaw the project closely from start to finish. He communicated warmly and consistently with the three homeowners in our building, accommodated additional requests fairly, and remained committed to the work until every detail was right. Our neighbors--including two architects--stopped to admire the workmanship as the project progressed. Not to mention they have been extremely disrespectful when engaging with her despite knowing/admitting they're in the wrong, casuing undue stress to an expectant mother - so expectant she's due any day now. They have actively been trying to use her pregnancy against her, dismissing her concerns, making misogynistic comments, and suggesting that she is too pregnant for them to finish the job, which doesn't even make sense since they are the ones delaying this in hopes that they'll be able to keep the money without finishing the work. This has been an entire summer long ordeal, and has caused extensive anguish to our family. This business is beyind dishonest and unscrupulous to say the least. We have been absolutely devastated by how this has unfolded, and now the baby will be brought into an incomplete home, ruining what should be a joyous occasion. We had a great experience with Matt Construction. Every day they arrived and carefully laid down…read morepaper so that they wouldn't mark up the floor and then carefully took it up at the end of the day, really worked hard to make the house as livable as possible for us while the work was going on. The on-site manager, Jonathan, was great, and they gracefully and quickly responded to additional requests and changes of plans we requested, including entirely changing one of the windows. Even our neighbor reached out to tell us how nice and respectful they were and asked us how we found them. The answer is that I just saw that they were well-reviewed on Yelp, so I'm adding my review here too. Their pricing was very reasonable, and their work was exceptional. They replaced a shower system, which involved breaking existing tile and seamlessly re-tiling the affected section after the new shower was installed. During the process, they covered the opening with plastic so we could continue using the shower (even though it only took a couple of days). The re-tiled area blends perfectly with the rest of the shower (see attached pic). You'd never know it was repaired. They also repaired significant water damage from burst pipes, replacing and adding insulation and drywall, installed recessed lighting with dimmers, replaced a window and glass shower doors, swapped out an awkward set of swinging bathroom doors for a proper door, and took care of several long-overdue household repairs. Everything was completed quickly, quietly, and efficiently. If we ever need renovations in the future, we'll definitely be using them again.

Although there were hiccups along the way (something to expect when it comes to any renovation work), Marcelino ensured that issues were had were addressed promptly. Marcelino was upfront during our initial walkthrough quote and gave an accurate timeframe when the project could be completed. The second phase involved the installation of some recessed lights which was completed within 1-2 weeks. Very happy with the results! There were some minor issues after the project's completion but after mentioning these concerns Marcelino had his team stop by our place with a very quick turnaround time to address our concerns. Overall Marcelino and his team were professional and respectful of our property (made sure to cover our exposed furniture during the painting/demolition phases).
