Everything you want from a car shop. The repair was done correctly, it was done quickly, and it was done cheaply. They installed a new side-view mirror for $50. They suggested I buy the part myself, which I did, and it cost me $120. The dealer would only install a part they purchased, and the dealer wanted $485. Total cost of 170 vs. 485. I found this place a couple years ago while driving through town. Luckily, I have not needed to use this auto shop on a frequent basis, as my cars have not been injury prone. However, the times that I have needed repair work done, I could not have been more pleased with the service. Son and Quienten (owners) have replaced my vehicle's brakes, rotors, powersteering pump, and various belts without fault and their prices have been below other repair shops. I took my car here in June 2017 got all new brake pads, machined my rotors and replaced front left caliper I paid a lot of money. Just last week I took my car to a different shop because my car was shaking violently when I was breaking. Turns out they put the wrong size caliper on and jimmy rigged it with metal peices to make it stay and my brake pad was sticking out a 1/2 inch!!! The mechanic was shocked and I was pissed. I had to pay a lot of money again to have this fixed! Do not go here they will put your life and your families life in danger, it's not worth it!!!! read more

Don't be misled by the unassuming appearance of their shop: these guys are great mechanics. They are reasonable in price, prompt, and deliver on what they promise. For example, I had an alternator break off it's bracket on my beater car. More hoity-toity repair shops have often been reluctant to even work on my car. I knew that finding a new bracket would be virtually impossible, and take quite a while. I limped into the shop, and they improvised a solution that involved bolting it on and re-bending the old bracket. The bolt had sheared, and it was an odd one, but no worries: they had a bucket load (literal bucket) of miscellaneous bolts from the junkyard, and sure enough one fit. So I was up and running again. They realize that sometimes you just want to get running again, and can't spend tons of money all the time for the ideal fix. The perfect recession mechanics. Other friends that work here in downtown 'tinez have similar good experiences. read more

Mrtz Automotive are only the nicest friendliest honest mechanics-owners. They explain thorougly the work/diagnosis of your vehicle. I have had oil changes $30! and smog for $50 done there. Today brought my van in with a engine light on they diagnosed and fixed. I would trust these guys for any problem solving and fixing most cars w no bull. Also they do not pressure or try to sell you more than what should be done. They are totally taking care of my 2002 dodge ram 3500 van forever. Martinez is the friendliest town around! Yes, the reviews are legit. These dudes are awesome. I really only review things on yelp when I feel like people should steer clear of a business, or the opposite. It's the latter in this case. I dropped in at about 10am for an oil change, no appointment or anything. Willing to pay around 50, and wait about an hour, some would say that's normal. Nope. Was given a 20-25 minute time estimate, so I took a moderate walk that took me about 15 minutes or so. Right as I walked back up to the building, my car was being pulled around and re-parked. Oil and filter: REPLACED. It was awesome. And the cost? 30 DOLLARS. FLAT. Awesomeness all around. The guys here were super cool and welcoming. I really wish I had gotten their names. Have never had a mechanic smile and wave at me when I pull into their business, it was great. Not to mention, these guys are knowledgeable as they come. All makes and models are welcome here. As the owner of a fickle as hell W124 Mercedes, I will be back when I have issues. And I have no doubt in my mind these dudes will knock it out in a most cost-effective and punctual manner. Finally, the coolest part about this place: the lack of the "up-sell". These guys will not pressure you into anything, I did not get a single hint of "you need to buy more shit" in my experience. I have a feeling that if you went here, they would let you know if something crucial is going out, but otherwise they would leave you in peace (unless of course you asked). Thinking I was going to be stuck for at least half a day, instead I was lucky to crawl into town and find these guys. They ordered and installed the fan belt while I had a $5 breakfast next door. I have taken my car to Quentin and Son a few times. I just had my radiator replaced, tune-up with new plugs and wires, and oil change. They are very professional and did a great job. This is the only place we take our cars for service. It is so refreshing to find honest people. They do not overcharge and explain (and will show you) everything they do. All are so nice. I highly recommend them. Twice the "check engine" light went on and both times they found nothing wrong. No charge. I felt I should pay for the time they spent checking everything out, but they insisted they only charge for fixing things.
