I sometimes felt the extensions done elsewhere were sometimes inconsistent in application and would look a bit heavy on me. Additionally, I was driving to Old Town when I live in the city and would often battle additional traffic as well as parking issues. So when I saw the fabulous reviews for Dupont Lash I decided to give them a shot. First, I was so pleased with how easy it was to book and that I was able to find availability the same week. That was challenging at the last place I went because there was only 1-2 lash techs. When I met Sara, she was so helpful in asking me what look I was going for. I showed her my past applications that were my absolute favorite as well and sharing with her the overall look I was going for. She understood the assignment immediately and nailed in on the first time. When I came back the second time I just wanted as very slight modification, and once again she executed it perfectly. (And she is so lovely!) Additionally, my lashes seem to stay on some much longer. Although I typically do a two week fill, my two week mark usually still looks so fresh and so good! Thankfully I was indeed there for brow threading, but the shape & thickness of my brows were compromised. Perhaps it is because she finished my brows at closing time (7pm on the dot) and there was another walk-in waiting to do her brows and sideburns? I walked in with full brows and only wanted them to be cleaned up, but was okay with losing some fullness if the shape improved (not that she bothered to ask). I walked out with uneven eyebrows that are much too thin so there's no option other than to even them out with make up while my left brow grows back in and eventually is reshaped to match.

Story time! My lashes initially done in Jacksonville, FL and then at another salon in DC since…read moremoving here in January. While I've had lash extensions since November, not once did any of the techs at the other salons tell me the extension length I wanted was WAY too long for my natural lashes to support. I was having to spend tons of money each week to get a fill because my natural lashes just couldn't support the weight. Still being a newbie to extensions, I knew something didn't seem quite right with my current extensions but I just didn't know for sure. I decided to switch salons and booked a "fill from another salon" and was told to text photos of my current lashes to the Art of Lash. Within 10 minutes, Malin called me to discuss my current lashes and the possibility that they won't be able to fill on them. She suggested we re-book as a removal and full set (which is precisely what we did). When I arrived to Art of Lash for my consultation and (possible) fill, Christina sat down with me and completed a consultation before looking to the damage that had been done by other places. This is the first time I've had anyone really take me through the steps and ask me what I was looking for. She provided pictures of different shapes and before/afters of people to show the results. When I finally laid down and Christina saw my lashes, she was pretty upset. She said there was 1) WAY too much glue 2) way too much length (only 30% of your lash length max, mine were more than 50%), and then 3) multiple extensions glued together- meaning there was twice the amount of weight per lash. NO WONDER WHY I HAD SUCH A HIGH TURNOVER RATE!!! My lashes simply couldn't support the extension that were incorrectly and unskillfully applied by other salons. Of course this meant Christina had to remove my old extensions and then apply a full new set. Yes, it was a lengthy process (especially if you're not someone who can fall asleep aka me), but it was SO SO worth it. My lashes look amazing now and are much healthier with a normal turnover rate. When the appointment concluded, Christina was super helpful in giving me aftercare instructions, recommending a cleanser, and recommending I use a lash serum (since I like length & the extensions from before damaged my natural lashes). At the other two salons before this one, I was NEVER told how to clean and care for my lash extensions so this was so incredibly refreshing. Yesterday, I had my first 2 week fill. This was the first time since November I have been able to retain lashes this long and not look like a crazy person. Christina informed me my lashes were growing back in pretty well & my retention rate was awesome. Amazing what can happen when the proper length is used and care instructions are given! Art of Lash has changed my world! Moral of the story: if you're looking at reviews on here to make an informed decision, you've found your lash place. Don't risk your lash health just for cheaper prices elsewhere because this salon is 110% worth the cost. Christina is incredibly knowledgeable, skilled, and an overall kind person. The salon is gorgeous and has wonderful aftercare products for sale as well! You won't regret getting your lashes done here!

this place is very dependent on the threader(is that what they are called?) i like this location…read morebecause of its proximity and plenty of free parking nearby, some of the threaders(yeah im just gonna keep using that term) are good, but some are exquisitely bad. the one today was in the latter category. i have full, thick brows and they look good even when they are NOT threaded(hey i tried to be humble, but ...it...didnt..work..). on occasion, i will get them threaded for a more refined look. the threader today did not do that. one of my brows got hair removed excessively and looked uneven by comparison and there were no sharp lines. i did point this out to the threader(who willl remain nameless) who insisted everything was good. she also applied lotion to my brows without asking me first, which is made my face all itchy and i washed it off immediately. i usually get an astringent like witch hazel, which P.E. has too but the threader usually will ask me first what I want. gee, gosh damn , is that so hard? anyway, once a threader messes up, i do NOT want them to fix it, bc that usually makes it worse...way worse. so i will have to get creative with my pencil and mascara brush. and honestly, im very irritated. im putting my pic from today and one from another salon where i got my brows done before.picture is worth a thousand brows after all. btw, i PREFER the P.E. in tysons corner mall, i have NEVER had any issues there.

I stopped going to other threaders when I met Nee-mu (I may be butchering her name). I know she rotates at several DuPont threading locations however she can always be found at the Columbia height location every Saturday (you can always call to confirm her location). When she does my brows, i always feel confident because she cleans them beautifully. Given that our brows are the focal point of our face during this pandemic, perfect brows are a must!!
