From a graduates perspective, this school is adequate. They prepare you well for working in a…read moresalon. The classes are in depth, the hands on experience is exceedingly valuable, and the supplies are superlative. However that being said, one of the biggest setbacks that I struggled with was lack of knowledge with some of the teachers. Some teachers are fabulous, Miss Andrea, Miss Caroline, Miss Mel, and Miss Julie to name a few( I didnt have all the teachers, so I may be leaving some out) I had the greatest pleasure to have spent the most time with Miss Andrea and she's one of the reasons I've done so well. But some others weren't as adequate. Being in the profession however, Empire students seem to be the most prepared out of most of the other schools I've seen. It has its cons, but I believe the Pros far outweigh them. If I had to choose again I would still pick Empire.

I can't say enough good things about this facility. 1. It…read moreis clean-previous reviewer claiming it has an odor is pretty funny, every single evening that I'm picking up my child there are teacher's assistants cleaning. I have one child and sometimes the poopy diapers cause my house to have a slight smell and that is with a garbage compactor with an air filter, I think if a place with 40x more poopy diapers smells a little funky once in great while any logical person would get it. 2. The teachers here really seem to care about my child. For example, my child is potty training and the teacher was so excited to tell me about a successful poop on the potty. They write up accident reports for things that I think are pretty minor-they take your child's well being seriously. 3. Communication is outstanding. I receive a daily note that includes how much my child ate for each meal, how long she slept, when she went to the bathroom, and a special note at the bottom usually letting me know what activity my child enjoyed for the day. A white board hangs at entrance of classroom listing the activities occurred for the day. There is also family facebook page communicating upcoming activities. And the director is very responsive to any concerns/questions. 4. It's educational. My daughter has come home with knowledge that I know we did not give her. Sometimes she will break out into a children's song that I totally forgot the words to and have to look up so I can sing along. My husband and I love the Learning Tree. If we ever had to relocate I would shed many tears over the loss of The Learning Tree.

This place is terrible. The staff is unprofessional and rude, especially the owner. They claim to…read morebe all things, when really, they are nothing. I'm not saying I would never in a million years trust them with my child, but certainly not in 999,999. The owners and upper staff are very untrustworthy people who I know to be very questionable decision makers at all levels of life and business practice.

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to attend Proctor Academy for high school. I had…read moreactually gone to Milton Academy for my freshman year - but it wasn't the right fit-vibe for me. It was too impersonal. At proctor, it's a much smaller school so you really get to know everyone. It was only 310 students when I graduated in 2000. The thing that makes proctor amazing: Excellent teachers, 2000 acres of land in which to go hiking, snowshoeing, cross country running, learn about the woods, maple syrup shack, we have our own lodge on elbow pond, our own blackwater ski mountain with lifts and a lodge.... I could go on and on. The brand new state of the art recording studio and performance center are amazing. The facilities just keep getting better and better. Proctor is a great school especially if you have special learning needs. I had a hard time getting a grip with hyperactivity as a youngster, and with 1 on 1 attention, I went from getting Ds to straight A's. I got my learning style down and I was able to excel independently. Proctor also offers really good abroad options. Mountain Classroom, Ocean Classroom (I did this one - sailed a tall ship from boston to puerto rico - amazing), France for a trimester (did this too), Spain, Costa Rica... all paid for in tuition. It sounds corny but some of my best friends are the ones I made at proctor. Everyone was like family. I couldn't have gone to a better school for me.
