self checkout scanner almost every visit double charges for a single item…read more when I call an employee to show the error they complain that I am disturbing them! they tell me that I'm not supposed to check my bill against what I actually bought but should just blindly scan and leave. What about the double charges, I ask. their response is that I'm saving money by shopping there! Also, there are times when the price at the display is lower than the scanned price. I show them the price at the shelf and they say too bad, you have to pay the hogher price. I believe this is contrary to Quebec consumer law.

So, what can you say about Walmart that hasn't already been said? Not much. They're all alike,…read morealthough this one is especially messy, chaotic and under stocked. Half the selves are sometimes empty. Again, nothing new to report here, but I suspect part of it is that they don't have enough staff. Speaking of staff -- and on the positive side -- the people who work at this particular store have always been helpful and friendly at the check-out or whenever I've asked questions. The two-star rating is meant for the management of Walmart in general. Retail is brutal. I've been there and can tell you that a messy store reflects how the business is run more than who you hire. As I said, all Walmarts are alike. What sets this one apart are the folks who work on the front lines.

They have a bar and a few little restos nothing fancy but if you're bored and want something to eat you're in luck. There's a little area to sit in eat not big but either is the mall. The sandwich shop is pretty good from what I remembered. A little revamp for the floors and the place would look brand new.

You know, this strip mall is kind of outdated but it has a bunch of really interesting stores…read more There is Papillon, a large natural foods store (where I recently purchased some agar powder to attempt making the Japanese water drop cake). There is a candy store next to it that sells a bunch of imported British candies and other goodies. There's a Viennese bakery with cakes and breads and imported European candies and a lunch counter that seems to be quite popular (oddly, one of the things it had was Jamaican patties). Wendy's dance shop has all your needs for ballerinas-in-training. Ted's Hobby Shop is a classic for crafty folk. There's also a collector's shop that I used to buy interesting coins from and has Beanie Babies for sale (remember those?). There's a Christian bookstore if you need some Bibles or inspirational goods. There's also a big modern Metro and Uniprix and a bar for the rest of your needs. Just don't expect much from the 'food court' - basically the Viennese bakery and only one other fast food place. Don't discount this mall... you just might find a hidden gem.

It's such a cool addition to this great, classic small town shopping centre. It's in the spot of Ted's Hobby Shop which would make me very sad because that is an incredible wonderland, but apparently Ted's just moved to a bigger spot in the new section of the mall so no worries, just more goodness to go around.

They catch problems which even my original car dealer did not catch! That odd "engine whining" noise is now totally gone from my car, after Canadian Tire found the source of the problem. Anywhere else I paid with big bills the person just passed a marker on the bill, checked it in the light and that was it. Not here ... it was like they have never seen one before. 3 employees looked at it for minutes and decided to call the manager to check it. After an embarrassing 15 minutes of waiting in line for the manager to come, he finally decided to show up, took a marker and passed it on the bill and what a wonder: it's a good one. I asked him if he was the only one qualified to pass a marker on the 100$ bill to check it and he said yes, "only management" can do it. Well, I guess he is very proud of himself, the test he had to pass to be "qualified" for this operation must have been veeeeery difficult!
