I especially love this location because Place Alexis Nihon also has a Winners, so one stop for 2 of my favourite stores. Truth be told, the Winners and Marshalls here are pretty indistinguishable from each other, lol. Brand names at a discount, what's not to love? I especially like their cosmetics/skincare. I often find brands sold at Sephora for a fraction of the cost. Just beware that the mascaras are sometimes dried up, but I've had good luck with all other make up items. I haven't had much luck with shoes here (ladies size 5 foot here, so not too surprising), and clothes are hit or miss. However, I still love the hunt ;) Review #19 (2025)

Same line concept where they automated voice calls out a number and they have all the same trinkets and goodies. They have a huge section for makeup so all you makeup gurus check it out. If you're tall the jeans here are to short and I'm talking 5'10 and up because I couldn't find any that were long enough :( I did however pick up a mascara that was 3.99 instead of the usual 8 so that's was a plus. I will be back for sure because I gotta find something soon to wear for my bday.

However, now that I subscribe to certain streaming services, I no longer go to Dollar Cinema as often as I used to. I found myself in Decarie Square since I needed to get something done with my driver's license and this was the most convenient SAAQ which was relatively accessible by public transportation and between where I live and where I work. There aren't a lot of places that I would go to at this shopping center. It has free underground/level parking so you can either park in front of the shopping center or you can park in the underground/level parking area. The only 3 places in this mall that I might go to when I'm in the area is the Dollarama, the Dollar Cinema, and the SAAQ if I need something specific to them. This mall is also not as nice looking as some of the other malls that I've been to (such as Rockland, Fairview Pointe-Claire, Place Vertu, etc.). I would say that it is at roughly the same level/category as the Cote Des Neiges mall.

One thing I noticed is that they now have free WiFi which is good. Also, at the period that I showed up, vaccination passports were required to enter. I'm not going to get into the politics of it and since this is a government mandate, my review doesn't really take this into consideration (it would be like giving a restaurant which is closed because of government mandate a bad rating). In any event, upon entering the store, there were roughly 2 Walmart employees in the front checking for the vaccination passport of customers. The line up to get into the store wasn't bad and inside, I didn't notice any reduction in customers based on when they didn't have the vaccination passport mandate. They have self checkout and I would say that the majority of customers are "pushed" into the self checkout line. There are 2 manned cash registers at the time that I went but the line up behind this seemed long and people who were waiting in these lines generally had full carts. In terms of grocery prices, Walmart's prices aren't the best except when they have items on special. They also no longer offer price matching. When shopping for groceries at Walmart, I'll generally just buy the things on special. This Walmart doesn't have a McDonald's inside and has a pharmacy.

The Long Version: I love Place Alexis Nihon because it has both a Winners AND a Marshalls, my favourite stores to shop at, lol. Well, my newest obsession is house plants, so on my on my most recent trip to Place Alexis Nihon, I had to check out this Canadian Tire to see their plant section. I was a bit surprised to see that they have a little temperature and humidity controlled greenhouse. I saw temperature and humidity gauges around and it felt warmer and more humid in there than regular indoor environments. All the other Canadian Tire stores I've been to, just have their plants in an area in their store, but not climate controlled to be different than the rest of the store. Anyway, it was fun poking around. Since I was on vacation and traveling by train, I was limited in what I could buy, so I didn't make any plant purchases, but they had really cute mini Swiss Cheese plants. I love plants with fenestrated leaves but they are mostly huge, but they had small ones here. As you all know, I'm an equal opportunity shopper, lol, I'll look at plants from big box stores as well as small plant boutiques. I would say that despite being a big box store, the plants here seem well cared for. The rest of the is similar to other Canadian Tire locations. Review #69 (2025)
