Everywhere we travel, if there's a Costco nearby, it's a must to stop by and see what the food court offers ;) Check if the iconic hot dog is still $1.50 (U.S. equivalent). Since we're in Canada, we were excited to see poutine on the menu, and it didn't disappoint. It came with three simple ingredients: French fries (not the crispiest, but still good), cheese curds (or cheese grains, as Canadians say), and gravy. All that for $6.99 CAD. They also had a smoked meat sandwich, something I've never seen at Costco elsewhere, which was a nice surprise. Service was fast, though the food court itself was pretty chaotic with the sheer number of people after work. One fun difference from the U.S.--they serve soft-serve cones here. And not just any cones--these things looked massive. I swear some were 2 feet tall (okay, at least 1.5 feet) Very tempting, though we passed this time. In the US, there are aisle of protein powder, jerky snacks, etc. Not in Montreal as I find it more balanced. Check out Costco the next time you are overseas! read more

When traveling, I like to stop at Costco locations outside the U.S. to see what regional products and food court items they carry. Montreal was the third international Costco I've visited, and while the layout and most items are very similar to U.S. stores, there were some fun differences. I noticed more international snacks and foods, plus slightly different pastries in the bakery section. I was also surprised to see in the freezer section the famous Montreal restaurant Schwartz's Smoked Meat -- you can actually buy their smoked meat packs right at Costco. One big difference: the famous rotisserie chicken is $8.99 CAD, compared to $4.99 USD back home. The food court was the main reason I came, and I wasn't disappointed. They had unique offerings like poutine ($6.99 CAD), and a smoked meat sandwich ($7.99 CAD), which you won't find in the States. I tried both items and thought they were good--especially the poutine, which was surprisingly delicious for coming from a Costco kitchen. Interestingly, the classic hot dog combo is still priced at $1.50 CAD, which actually makes it cheaper than in the U.S. after conversion. I've been a Costco member for years and always appreciate the savings--especially on gas--but this visit was extra fun for trying out some distinctly Canadian items. Don't come during the week people are swarming this place. Yes they have everything in bulk which is the main reason I go there. The "food court" is packed and people go crazy over the seating legit fighting. Hotdog/polish sausage and a drink is $1.50. They have poutine, chicken fingers and your basic canteen junk food. If you want to come in to just eat you have to go in by the sortie section or else they'll stop you, for those of you die hard Costco hot dog fans lol. read more

Classic. Having gone to College de Bois-de-Boulogne, lunch treks to Costco were a common occurence. Honestly though, not much to say, 1.50$ for a hot-dog and a drink, add 2.40$ fries on top of that, and you get a quick and filling (although not healthy) meal. Best bang for you buck. However, it sometimes does get difficult to get a seat, mostly on evening around 6-7pm when people start going there for cheap meals. read more

I love Costco for the mass amount of things you can buy. If you're looking for food, clothes, movie tickets, everything is here. There's also a mass amount of people since everything is here. Keep that in mind when you go on a weekend. Prices are pretty competitive if you're looking to buy a bunch of one thing. For example, their Costco brand toilet paper between a household of two people with occasional guests has lasted nearly a year. For the amount and quality of products you get, it is worth it to get a membership card and to buy in bulk. On thé note of membership cards, you can get different tiers at different prices. I think most households will just need the one that costs around $50 a year, plus two people can be on it. Now, if you're not one for crowds, I don't recommend buying things or bothering. It's pretty overwhelming and there are kids everywhere. The trial samples aren't as good as I remember as a kid either. But, their Costco cafeteria with the hotdog is still the best deal anywhere! read more

What a beautiful place ! (kidding) I need to go to 3 different Costco location to get what I'm looking for. This is one of them. I like it because it is near a whole bunch of other shops and restaurants. It doesn't have gas, yet. Their parking lot is not worse or better than any other one, in fact I like it better, I always find a really close space in the first 2 rows. They have organic swiss cheese! Too bad that there not much more organic products to choose from, but I still get eggs, honey, bread, coffee, cheese, pasta, sauce, mac & cheese, frozen fruits, frozen vegetables, etc... all organic and MUCH cheaper than anywhere else! Definitely worth the membership cost. You might like the ethnic diversity of people that shop here. All they need is a landing area on the roof for my helicopter. read more

Its super big havé everything you need but in a super size at good price. The only problem you must be member to enter or know some one to enter with. I wish the worst Costco on the Island wasn't the closest one I have to go to. No gas station. Hard to get in and out of, you'll see the intersection of death when you go there. Nightmare parking. Almost no tasting menu, 3-4 items tops (you get over a dozen freebies elsewhere) People are either pushy or distracted with their carts, causing accidents and near accidents. My car wouldn't start at the Costco parking lot. I assumed that I needed a new battery. I had forgotten my wallet at home so didn't have access to my Costco card or credit cards. My plan was to explain my situation to the person who lets you through the Costco entrance and hoped that I would be granted access. I was, and then explained my situation at the auto department desk, only to find out that I could buy a battery but that I would have to install it myself and they would not be able to lend out tools. The department supervisor, Adam overheard my problem and was very supportive. To make a very long story short, he went to my car to assess the problem, told me what type of battery I would need, found someone to help me get a "day use pass" since I didn't have my Costco card, and got me set up for the battery installation. My bad luck day was saved by Adam and his team at the auto department and I will be forever grateful! Thank you all so very much! read more

Parking is a disaster, you have been warned. And there is one customer service guy in particular who will make you feel like a degenerate criminal when you legitimately try to return something, which incenses me. As if that wasn't enough, their produce is frequently rotten and poorly picked over. However they have the cheapest whole wheat flour on the island; that plus the dried chickpeas keep me coming back. But otherwise I go to Pointe Claire, where people treat you like a human. read more
