We have been buying our groceries from this Costco for more than 1.5 years and it has been amazing. Decent variety, great quality across categories - food, clothing, cleaning supplies, electronics and so on. While they keep limited options, we never have had any complaints on the products we have purchased - one can be assured of quality including the Kirkland brand. For vegans, definitely try their Soy milk - the best we have found so far. We purchase soy milk only from Costco since that has been the most suitable for making the Indian chai which we had been trying to replicate since we went vegan. The membership is $60 for gold and $120 for the executive. They do a hard sell for the executive ones but my recommendation would be to monitor your purchases for one year on gold and do a comparison of savings, if any, if you had executive (the agents there can do it for you). The store is generally quite crowded even on weekdays and finding parking can be tricky at times - especially in the evenings - with people parking outside parking spots as well, sometimes. The staff is really good and helpful. Have mostly had very pleasant experiences. The gas station is often not as crowded as the store. The max I had to wait once was for about 15 minutes but generally, I get through in 5-7 minutes.

I'm a big fan of Costco and I did not waste time to experience Canadian Costco during my visit to Montreal last week. I hit up the food court first because I was starving and needed a big meal within my budget. It goes excited when I saw that this Costco serves chicken strips with fries!! For $6.49CAD, I was enjoying four big chicken strips and big plate of fries. I got a drink to go along with because for $.79CAD, why not! My total was $8.37CAD and boy was I stuffed! Worth every penny. I also got the frozen yogurt in a waffle cone. I was super excited about it because Costco in the east coast does not serve the frozen yogurt in a cone. The guy behind the register was friendly and patient with me when I was trying to decide what to get. While I was there I also got a chance to look around the store. The layout is the same as US Costco. I finally got to see the infamous bag milk!! I had my US Costco membership card with me so I used it to buy a big box of Canada chocolate that was on sale.

Amazing selection of all sorts of needs. Food, clothing, wine, beer, cheese, coffee, appliances, gas station. They really have everything you'd expect them to have and then more. The membership process is a breeze. You can even have discounted travel arrangements with them. You can also shop for groceries online and they will ship it to you. This locations director is Richard a General Manager. Met the guy as I shook his hand and greeted him letting him know that we were from Miami Fl. He was pleasant enough to help us take a better look around his Costco store. Amazing customer service bar none.

Eager beavers waiting before the store opens at 9 on Saturdays. ~50-60 people just ready to storm in with their carts!! :D

ATTENTION: Costco Gift Card shoppers!!! As of a few months ago, Costco has changed their gift card policy. You can ONLY purchase with a gift card IF you have an active membership! Membership fee for the regular card is now $60. My friend and I went and they didn't renew their membership but tried the use the gift card at the checkout and the card failed to pass the transaction. They sent my friend to the membership counter to renew.

I read the review of the other Philip T from Hawaii--and I'd say he was spot on. Well, Hawaii does have one of the most interesting and unique costcos in the world. But this Costco had about 95% of the same stuff as the Costcos back in the USA. There is poutine (which I probably would skip) and some swarovski crystal. One of the more unique items is slightly higher end/middle range shoes in a separate display. Oh, and also, milk in plastic bags (very eco-friendly). The funniest part is when paying, you cannot use your Costco Visa Card here. They do NOT accept Visa at this Costco. Use a mastercard or canadian plastic (aka: cash!). An Uber from downtown Montreal was about $14.

This is my Costco. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My Costco is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my Costco is useless. Without my Costco, I am useless. Have only been a few Costco's in my time, but this one is pretty good. It's always been clean, and even at the crazy-busy times getting through the cash registers never takes more than 5mins or so. The best times to go are during the day on weekdays. If you're not a fan of crowds, then be sure to stay away on the weekends. Don't judge the cafeteria by its clientele. The food is actually of decent quality, and the servings are big for what you pay. The turkey sandwich and the beef hotdog are both really good.

Costco is my favourite store in the world. You can tell everything was methodically planned out from the extra large parking spaces (enough to push your extra large shopping cart through) to the "our members come first" return policy. Whenever I purchase an item at Costco it feels like the it has been tested to meet quality standards set forth by a quality control inspection team. If I'm not satisfied with a product I purchase, returns are hassle free. I look at the board showcasing the longevity of their employees and I know exactly why they stay for so long. Whenever I plan a trip to Costco I get excited. When I finish my shopping at Costco, my life gets better!

It's all here at the China Arts Whole Sale. Inside one will find aisles and aisles of what looks to be junky, low quality, made-in-China stuff and for the most part it's true. Nothing here will be of significant value, just something to get for decoration or temporary purposes (like halloween, a play, or for fun). The musty smell is also an indicator that you may come out smelling like mothballs. The guys running the joint are nice and helpful. English doesn't seem to be a problem here, but one would be much better off speaking Cantonese. They have a pretty extensive inventory for most of the things on display, don't be timid to ask for the new stuff if it happens to be in better condition. It's easy to get lost in the back and there are no signs to indicate what is what or where most things are located. It's one of those stores that could double as a flea market, but in order for one to find what they want, they need to feel things out first. Out of most of the touristy wholesale stores, this seems to be one of the largest I've seen in Montreal's Chinatown. I doubt I'll be back, I've seen one too many of these kinds of places already.

What drew me to this place instantly was the yellow exterior, Aboriginal chief logo, and an appealing $10 sign. I had the impression it would be like the Black Market vintage store in Toronto - and it was. Almost all of the items were $10, except for some sweaters that were $25. There was a good selection of cool unisex t-shirts ranging from funny to raunchy, which amused the guys. They also have a nice variety of vintage clothing. There were flowy button-up blouses when you first walked in. Then to the right (in a different room) were plaid shirts, tops, sweaters, sweater vests, and cowboy boots. I found a lovely denim shirt for TEN BUCKS. Overall they are well organized, but I think it's also due to the fact that they don't have very much merchandise. I'd suggest you pop in for a quick peek and see if you fancy anything. It'll be hit or miss, but if you find something it'll definitely be a steal!

Now you can, at the new Bulk Barn downtown! I've been to Bulk Barn a few times (mostly in Ontario actually), and this one is SPOTLESS. There's a person going around cleaning all the mess people make with a small vacum, and all the shelves, tanks and other containers are super clean. Even the honey tap is non-sticky! This place is also a heaven for bakers. They have sugar pearls, food coloring, candy sparkles, etc. of every color, and even special cake molds that you can rent at 1.99$ per day! They have a wide range of products, ranging from apple pie filling (!) to pet treats (e.g. dog biscuits). There's all kinds of flours, condiments, spices, health supplements, candies, pasta, and even some ethnic products, such as the classic Filipino Sunflower crackers. Prices are not always the cheapest, however - it's still good to compare between different shops. Bulk Barn might also not be for you if you usually go for brand products. But, it's great place to try if you want a specific volume of something, or just want to try, let's say, chia seeds for the first time but not sure if you'd like it... Yes, it's grungy in there, and smells weird, and is full of salty people, but I was able to get bags of groceries that fed me for an entire week for about $10. Admittedly that was a while ago, and I was a vegetarian back then, and I weighed less than 100 lbs, but hey I lived to tell this story. I was back at Segal's this past week, for a stroll down memory lane, and with the exception of some new security cameras and TV screens, it's exactly how I remembered it. It's still poorly lit. The refrigerated sections still have those yellowing plastic curtains. The floors are still dirty and it still smelled weird. Prices are a bit higher, but I would say keeping with inflation. They stock a few more organic items now. The bulk items used to just be in open tubs (like at Bulk Barn, minus the coverings), but are now in plastic garbage/recycling bins, with lids, lol. The "scoops" are plastic water jugs that are tied to the bins. Most are cracked or broken. I found this amusing. This place has apparently been around since 1927. Maybe it's just nostalgia speaking, but I have a soft spot in my heart for its "this is who I am, warts and all, take it or leave it" attitude.
