The mall itself has amazing stores and yummy restaurants (Valentine poutine- YUM), is very clean and is the first mall I've been to that has a breastfeeding room! It is just a small stall with a chair in it, with an adjoining room for kids to sit and play. It was nice to see a room for women like myself who have babies they need to take care of without having to be on display to the whole mall (although I bf in public anyway too). I will say though, for any parent with kids who want to try the Virtual Reality, be aware of who is working one of the stations. While we were there, there were two tall men who were very courteous. There was another shorter man working the other station. I am not sure if he is a permanent or seasonal employee, but his actions made us pull our son out of the line, complain and ask for our money back. Our Son is 8. In the 3 minutes he was in line, this man reprimanded him for not looking him in the eyes, said "we just passed Remembrance Day but you want to play a shooting game? Why don't you sign up for the army or military instead" (I didn't want him playing that one but don't OFFER a shooting game then), and when he asked what smash meant, he said "it's what your mommy and daddy used to do". That is when we left. It was COMPLETELY inappropriate. So, parents, just be careful. I'm glad our Son isn't old enough to understand what the man meant. Other than that one experience, we've had amazing times at this mall and we enjoy going.

I especially love this location because Place Alexis Nihon also has a Winners, so one stop for 2 of my favourite stores. Truth be told, the Winners and Marshalls here are pretty indistinguishable from each other, lol. Brand names at a discount, what's not to love? I especially like their cosmetics/skincare. I often find brands sold at Sephora for a fraction of the cost. Just beware that the mascaras are sometimes dried up, but I've had good luck with all other make up items. It came with three simple ingredients: French fries (not the crispiest, but still good), cheese curds (or cheese grains, as Canadians say), and gravy. All that for $6.99 CAD. They also had a smoked meat sandwich, something I've never seen at Costco elsewhere, which was a nice surprise. Service was fast, though the food court itself was pretty chaotic with the sheer number of people after work. One fun difference from the U.S.--they serve soft-serve cones here. And not just any cones--these things looked massive. I swear some were 2 feet tall (okay, at least 1.5 feet) Very tempting, though we passed this time. In the US, there are aisle of protein powder, jerky snacks, etc. Not in Montreal as I find it more balanced. Check out Costco the next time you are overseas!

Montreal was the third international Costco I've visited, and while the layout and most items are very similar to U.S. stores, there were some fun differences. I noticed more international snacks and foods, plus slightly different pastries in the bakery section. I was also surprised to see in the freezer section the famous Montreal restaurant Schwartz's Smoked Meat -- you can actually buy their smoked meat packs right at Costco. One big difference: the famous rotisserie chicken is $8.99 CAD, compared to $4.99 USD back home. The food court was the main reason I came, and I wasn't disappointed. They had unique offerings like poutine ($6.99 CAD), and a smoked meat sandwich ($7.99 CAD), which you won't find in the States. I tried both items and thought they were good--especially the poutine, which was surprisingly delicious for coming from a Costco kitchen. Interestingly, the classic hot dog combo is still priced at $1.50 CAD, which actually makes it cheaper than in the U.S. after conversion. I've been a Costco member for years and always appreciate the savings--especially on gas--but this visit was extra fun for trying out some distinctly Canadian items. Definitely worth checking out if you're a fellow Costco fan visiting Montreal.

Last time I was here I bought a door mat with three cats on it. Now this has become a favorite with my cats. By the way the prices on these items were great even before the conversion! The store is very spacious, the use of the space is great. I like how when you are on the second floor one can look down and see almost the entire store. Great if you need to spot your shopping companion. They also have wifi, which is a great added bonus when traveling.

What I liked most about the dresses was not only their fit and fabric but I can just tell that they will be able to withstand the wear and tear that is inevitable for me when I spend all summer biking around Montreal. The space itself is cool and is host to a variety of events supporting local art and music. Big fan!
