I have been a member of Costco since 2004…read more The membership is worth it because of the tasty food samples, reasonably-priced brand name drugs (example: GLP1 weight loss drugs for $25/mo), and the use of advanced technology. Their rotisserie chicken is so good! It is a bargain at $4.99. The crisp and well-seasoned skin and moist meat reminds me of Thanksgiving, so I usually enjoy it with a glass of red wine or Coke. I stopped going to CVS and Walgreens over a decade ago so I could use Costco Pharmacy. Their prescription drugs are relatively cheaper because they accept Manufacturer coupons for Tier 3 and Tier 4 (brand name) drugs, and Costco membership is not required. When I was on Ozempic, I paid only $25 out of pocket for a one month supply. Costco's technology skills are up there with the best. Today when I was standing on a long line at the self check out aisle, an employee scanned my digital Costco membership card with his portable scanner and then scanned all the items in my cart. When I finally got to the register and scanned my membership card, my grocery bill automatically appeared. How convenient! There are so many other things that Costco has to offer! They to were excited to see if it was actually in the box. I hunted this item for a week & no other Costco was willing to do what this location did. (Even on a super slow weekday evenings) You can tell they genuinely wanted to find it and make someone's day. When I got to the self checkout the attendant there (Allison?) directed me to an open register and proceeded to scan all the items for me (unusual for check out but I didn't mind). I told her I also had some items to pick up and when she saw they were a new item (retro blocks) She then offered to show me an area where there might be more. Unfortunately they were not but I was impressed by her service all around. That's more helpful to me than being greeted the minute you walk in the door I really feel bad employees are forced to do that. But having someone help you bag up a million small items find your purchase right away and help you find others (all while greeting everyone who walked in the door and answering questions at the same time) was most appreciated. We needed one more item to reach $75 to use the tanger app perks and also wanted to pay using 2 different cards. The cashier was an absolute angel! She didn't rush us and didn't seem annoyed at all.
