Maybe there are just too many customers now and not enough staff. It's all so different now. Customers also have a lack of care regarding cleaning up after themselves. With that aside, I am usually lucky to find a pair of shoes or two when I'm in the area. That is why I provided the second star. There aren't many physical shoe stores around unless you are looking for sneakers. So we deal with the chaos in hopes of finding a gem in the midst of it all.

Macy's has largely sabotaged themselves by cheapening their product mix and house brands while leaving the Marshalls of the world to undercut them on designer goods. It also doesn't help that the store seems unkempt and the staff, if you can find them, are sleepwalking in place. I have towels from fifteen years ago that still wear like iron, while more recent purchases may not see the end of 2024. What's needed is some kind of miracle on 34th Street although I'll settle for well kept displays and a cashier who's awake. Roll over Macy's and tell Gimbels the news. Two sorry stars.

Even though the building is visibly dated, it has most of the modern amenities found at newer Targets: aisle price scanners, self checkout, a small grocery section, a pharmacy, a cosmetics boutique, a Capital One ATM, and a recently renovated Starbucks and pizza snack bar area. If you're staying at the neighboring Homewood Suites which opened 3 years ago, this place is a 30 second walk away and great for procuring travel necessities like toiletries, snacks, and medications during and after your stay. Regarding messiness, this store attracts a lot of visitor traffic from Menlo Park Mall and Roosevelt Park on weekends, including people with children, so shelves and clothing racks will understandably be a little messy. Since this location is next to a townhouse complex and three nursing homes, inventory for popular items also tends to run low without real-time inventory levels being reflected on Target.com. One of my biggest complaints about this Target is the T-shaped bottleneck for exiting and entering the parking lot. You'll also find some of the worst drivers ever here as they confusedly or recklessly enter and leave without yielding when they don't have right of way. For a more pleasant shopping experience, try the Hadley Center Target.

Aside from this being low end stuff that you'd be better off just buying decent stuff from a real store, you need to be aware of their sketchy return policy. Like I said, they refused to take back 2 bowties, within one hour of purchase, with a receipt. The guy in the store tells me that he cannot take back "small items." It's our return policy. He refers me to the return policy above the register, where it says nothing of the sort. I needed 2 bow ties AND cummerbunds for a black tie affair. Much of the store is dedicated to this low end formal wear, but they of course, do not have 2 cummerbunds. So I settled for the 2 bowties. I, of course, found what I needed in another store. So I thought, while I'm still in the mall I'll just return these. Now I get it that people probably try to scam them returning stuff after wearing them once. But, this was an hour later...and they didn't actually have what I needed to begin with. Mind you, I told the guy that I had purchased 2 tuxedos and an additional tuxedo jacket for myself and family members last year. Now this low-end stuff is cheap, so I got all of that for $380, plus we had to have the pants tailored, so about a total of $460. I'm just starting to get into owning formal wear and I have found a lot of use for this stuff recently. So, I'm sure I would have been back for another cheap jacket, or whatever. Overall, the stuff is low-end and cheap. You get what you pay for. I'd advise anyone to go to a REAL store and stay away from these cheap ghetto stores that will nickel and dime you and don't have any clue what customer service is, how to keep a customer, or just do what's right in business.

However, had unpleasant experience at the cast counter. The sales person greeted me well, so I didnt feel anything amiss. However, once the sale was done, the sales person handed me my 2 piece of clothing, and said here you go. She did not pack the clothes or put them in the bag. I was shopping at other stores and picked up some nice things from White + Black(which was super nice experience BTW), so I ended up putting the clothes in that bag. I was tired and in a rush to get out, so I didnt say anything at that time. But I have never had such experience before. It was extremely unprofessional. What bothered me, is my 11 year old who was accompanying me at the time, asked me "Why did that lady behaved this way". I feel it was unprofessional.

I was in at the Menlo Park Mall and I visited the Aldo store. Saw some shoes I liked and decided to…read morepurchase them online since my shoe size was unavailable in-store. The associate that was helping me, at the register, made an honest mistake (which I am not upset about), but my order was ordered incorrectly in regards to the color selection. Customer service had me on hold for over 15 minutes and I only had a 30-minute window to adjust the order before it being shipped. I called the store and Nathalie, the store manager, completely was going out of her way for me to fix this. She was giving me different options on what she could do to fix it and I didn't want her going out of her way because I knew it wasn't her job to do so. I was very satisfied with the service provided! In the end Nathalie was able to cancel the old order and reorder the shoes for me. Definitely visit this store for great service in stressful situations. Thank you Natalie!!
