Definitely the kind of store you have to visit just to see what is available. Prices can be very good on brand name clothing and footwear. The store is well signed so you know where to go for what you are looking for. Clothes are sorted by type: sweaters, pants, tops, etc. and organized by size so it's easy to find your size section and see what they have. Changing rooms are toward the front of the store. The ladies changing room is pretty large, clean and well lit with lots of places to hang your items. Whatever you don't want, leave with the attendant to return to the racks. The staff are usually pleasant. The check out line can be long, but they often have several cashiers on at once and will call people off the floor to help if the line gets too long. There are plenty of items along the line to keep you shopping while you wait your turn. Plenty of parking is available in the shared lot. Easy in/out with a light at the entrance. read more

Nice Marshall's in East Greenwich. There's plenty of parking in the large parking lot and the store is large and well laid out. I found the men's section fairly quickly and I got some socks that I needed to get. The lines was a bit long but it moved quickly with a good amount of cashiers doing the check out. I could not pass up a beautiful pair of bridge stretch jeans marked down from. $78, regular price, to $10!!! And, they fit me perfectly! I've been shopping at Marshalls for about 24 years and I'm usually a very happy customer. Yet, this particular store, the Marshalls location at 20 Frenchtown Road, North Kingstown, RI, is being managed terribly. It appears totally neglected and has been going down hill for a few years now. Yet, two other stores, owned by the same corporation, within moments of this one, Home Goods and TJ Maxx, are still as nice as ever, with hard-working, dedicated, friendly employees and managers, always looking clean and well-organized. What gives? Without exception, when you arrive, this store will be disorganized, dusty, disjointed and the fitting rooms and all of the floors not only appear unwashed -- they don't even look vacuumed. Even the sheet glass at the entrance looks dirty. None of the clothes are being kept orderly and maintained on the hangers, as they usually are in their other stores. Further, the women's shoe dept. is split into two separate areas. I have never seen anything like this! The other day, I popped in to see if this store had finally been updated/improved, after more than a year of avoiding it altogether --nope, just the same, if not worse. When I got to the register after finding just one item, FIVE employees were standing around talking and doing absolutely nothing. There were no customers in line other than me. Why weren't they busy addressing all the cleaning and organizing that clearly needs to be done? While being checked out, I asked if I had come at a slow time and the cashier said, smiling, "No, it's always like this." She couldn't have been happier to have 'nothing to do' it seems. Hmmm, well that should tell you something. It's clear that employees who take zero initiative or who are not being properly managed, will very likely be forcing this store to close at some point and it will be a shame, since this store used to be SO BUSY and was one of my favorites! This is a PRIME location, close to the highway and other conveniences, so, there's no reason under the sun to allow unmotivated managers/employees to drag this store down. Truly -- Why allow those who have no enthusiasm for their jobs to bring it down like this? I do wonder, are these young people practicing the "quiet quitting" trend? I believe that others in our lovely area, with eyes to see, are observing all of these very obvious issues and going to TJ's or HomeGoods in North Kingstown instead, which have remained vibrant and bustling. As a side note, only one genre of music is being played, very loudly, that is geared towards hip-hop/club music, etc. With all the other genres of music out there, why is this music the one & only genre we all have to listen to in ALL of these stores? I genuinely hope that one of the district managers will pay a special visit there and spark some life back into this place. The Marshalls corporate "contact us" by email web page is totally dysfunctional and my message will not go through, so, this is my only way to get their attention. If they finally pay some attention to this store, I will gladly come back here and bring the rating to a FIVE, which is the rating they've fully deserved up until several years ago. Therefore, please know that my poor review is meant to save this location, not to harm the overall reputation of the TJX companies, since I GENUINELY appreciate them and will continue spending lots of money in all of their other stores. read more

Disappointing. Prices seemed high, and from an aestetics pov, and someone that's worked in retail, there just seems like there's a lot of wasted space on the right side of the store. I think it may have even been a famous footwear or something before and they expanded. Either way it just looks disjointed. Even employees seemed like mindless zombies, just going through the motions, which again as someone who has worked in retail reflects on how management treats them. read more

Really nice, spacious layout at this Marshall's. It looks like the store was once two separate stores. There's a separate area with men's accessories, travel, kids and clearance and then the main store with women's wear and home goods. Great selection of coolers and summer merchandise when I visited tonight. I scored a cool, long, flowing summer cotton skirt on clearance for $16. Cashier was super nice and line was very short. I was a little disappointed I didn't find much in their dress department but no worries, Marshall's can always be hit or miss. I'll check back since this one is close to Wickford Village where we often go for walks. read more

Great location, lines move quickly and the store is CLEAN (which cannot be said for all Marshall's stores, unfortunately). Whenever I am in the area (about 4x year, since my dog's groomer is in East Greenwich) I stop in just to see what they have. I generally have the best luck when I have nothing in mind and just see what I can find, and what did I score today? Poop bags for the dog (sorry, but poop happens when you have a dog) on clearance because the box was mangled (who cares????), awesome fleece leggings and a Diet Coke. Must grab the DC whenever you are in the store because the price is a steal. Perhaps the best part? Nice girl at the register named Yasmeen.... read more

Everyone has a problem shopping for clothing regardless of size. For my needs, the Frenchtown Road Marshall's in East Greenwich seems to be the place to go if one is looking for XS in tops and dresses. This particular store is fairly consistent is having a good selection in the extra small and small sizes. There is usually a choice of a multitude of very recent styles in all sizes unless the item is scooped up very quickly. It would be great if each Marshall's did get in a few more pieces of clothing at every size; From my perspective, when I have observed a rack being loaded with new stock, it is usually two or three of each size. The checkout lines have been a bit long, but this store is quick to bring up additional cashiers, and their pleasant greeting to their customers makes the visit a positive one. read more

I'm a bargain hunter, always lookin' for a deal! Marshall's is hit or miss for me (like most people I assume) I either walk in and want everything or leave wondering how I'm walking out with nothing. I like the shoe layout of this store, much more organized than other Marshall's I have been to. read more

Marshall's, Homegoods and TJ Maxx. We have all experienced the fabulosity of these fine retailers. And dare I say, (homegirl included) we as thrifty shoppers have fallen subject to the televised cliche spoon-fed to us, and have experienced the sensation of being a "maxinista". Homegirl doesn't like this cult like idea of uniting as one body of shoppers called the "maxinista's".But sweetie,if you practically give me a five finger discount, give me an embroidered sweater vest, teach me the secret handshake and initiate me into the savings cult. homegirl secret #544. Marshall's in North Kingstown RI: beyond a doubt contains the best markdowns. Now don't go betrayin' a homegirl-leave some love on the shelves. But for real, this location is on the stremph. Their clearance is always a couple dollars less. Last year homegirl bought her momma some Steve Madden leather boots for $6 on clearance. Say what now?
