Gabe said he could come out that Monday to provide a quote, and mentioned I'd get a message from an automated system but told me to ignore it, so I did. Monday morning, one of his workers arrived before Gabe and began pulling out switches and other items before any quote had been given or fees discussed. My son was the only one home at the time. Gabe arrived shortly after to assess the work needed, then called me to walk through what he'd found and said I'd have a quote to review within a few minutes. When the quote arrived, it included a $149 service fee and a $159 diagnostic fee in addition to the repair estimate -- none of which had been mentioned to me beforehand. When I questioned this, Gabe said I had agreed to the fees via the automated message -- the same message he'd told me to ignore, and which I never opened. He sent a screenshot of a calendar entry with a checkmark as "proof" of my agreement. I had gotten quotes from other electricians at no cost, which is what I expected here too, so I could compare pricing fairly before committing to work. When I pushed back on the fees, Gabe became confrontational: he called the police (who, after speaking with him, apologized for the call and left), threatened to send my account to collections, and contacted city code enforcement about violations he'd found. I'm now working directly with the inspector on those items, which is exactly the kind of oversight I wanted a professional's help with in the first place. When I mentioned I'd be leaving a review, Gabe said he'd sue me for slander. My advice: get any fees confirmed in writing before agreeing to a "quote" visit, and consider getting quotes elsewhere -- several other local electricians will do this at no charge and not be so hostile in the interactions.

    TrueServe Electric

I had an excellent experience with **TrueServe Electric**, and especially with **Rey**, who came…read moreout to evaluate several electrical projects around our home. What impressed me most was the amount of time Rey spent actually investigating our existing electrical system rather than simply looking at my list of projects and giving me a price. He walked through each project with me, explained what he was seeing and why he recommended certain solutions, and looked for practical ways to accomplish what I wanted without unnecessarily adding work or expense. At one point, Rey even removed a covered wall plate in our media room to determine whether power was available behind it for the new recessed lighting. In the process, he discovered and explained how our existing ceiling fan/light was wired and pointed out something about its remote-only setup that could save us a major headache in the future. That level of attention and willingness to educate the homeowner really stood out to me. We also discussed adding outdoor outlets for Christmas lights. Rey explained the different options available, including using existing circuits or installing a new dedicated circuit. We ultimately decided to go with the dedicated circuit, and even with that added work, TrueServe's pricing was extremely competitive. In fact, **their estimate was substantially less than quotes I received from other electrical companies, even after those companies applied their available discounts.** Considering the amount of work I was asking TrueServe to complete, I was honestly surprised at how reasonable their pricing was. Just as impressive was the service after I accepted the estimate. TrueServe was able to schedule the entire project **the same week as my initial appointment with Rey**. The work was completed professionally, and when they finished, they cleaned everything up and took all of their trash and debris with them. You wouldn't have known a crew had just completed a substantial amount of electrical work throughout the house. Most importantly, I never felt like Rey was trying to sell me something. He was knowledgeable, patient, thorough and straightforward, and genuinely seemed interested in finding the right solutions for our home rather than simply finding ways to increase the price. Between the quality of the work, the pricing, the responsiveness and the time Rey took to explain everything, I couldn't be happier with the experience. Finding a good electrician you trust is incredibly valuable as a homeowner, and after working with TrueServe, I feel like we've found ours. I would absolutely recommend **TrueServe Electric and Rey** to anyone looking for an honest, knowledgeable and reasonably priced electrician. They will be my first call for any electrical work we need in the future.

After reading reviews, I knew my decision wasn't really about the price--I was planning to hire Top Tech anyway. What disappointed me was that the estimate appointment had to be canceled that day, and I was even more frustrated by the interaction with the lady on the phone. As a business owner myself, I believe in taking care of customers and honoring commitments. If I have to do the job myself, I do it--I don't cancel on clients who are depending on me. The phone conversation felt rushed, and it seemed like she was trying to get me off the phone as quickly as possible, which I found annoying. However, Zach came out later that same day for the estimate, and he completely changed my impression. He was professional, honest, hardworking, and got straight to the point. It was 92 degrees outside, and I genuinely felt for the guy working in that heat. He provided a fair estimate, scheduled the work for the next day at 1 PM, and then actually arrived two hours early. The quality of the work was outstanding--top-notch service. My brother is an electrical engineer, so I have a decent understanding of electrical work, but he lives far away. I still have a lot more projects to complete around my house, and I will definitely be calling Top Tech again. When I do, I'll be requesting Zach specifically. Highly recommended.
