My generous calculations being familiar with going rates: 2 service calls at $150 each-----------$300 5 hr plumber at $120/hr---------------$600 16 hr laborers at $30/hr---------------$480 Materials------------------------------------$100 --------- $1480 total (padded amt) I was charged $2,174, the unfortunate fact is most plumbing needs are near emergency and you are at the plumbing companies' mercy and they most charge accordingly. We've had BullDawg Electric come out to do several different things for us. They did a great job, and offered a couple of solutions that saved work, and money for us, but cost them. Second, we had them install a back up generator for us. They took care of everything from permits, to concrete pads, to contacting a plumber to run the gas line and finally the installation. And third most recently, we wanted to upgrade the lights we had hung on our patio with a switch rather than a plug. And they would have done it for us, but after some thought about wnat we wanted to do, Les (the owner) called and offered an easier and less expensive solution for us. By getting smart plugs, we could do the job ourselves. IK this isn't a terribly challenging thing to do, but I had no idea smart plugs even existed.
