A copy of invoice with exorbitant charges for labor!

Lightfoot mechanical is a business of crooks. I had them come out to fix my water heater, that is under warranty, and was charged $581.00 for 2 labor hours. The tech lied on the invoice by stating he changed more parts than he did and by saying he left and went to Lowe's to get parts when he never left my house. The parts totaled $35. If you look at my invoice(attached pic) you will see there isn't a breakdown of service only a lump charge of $581.00. He pulled that number out of you know where and added services that weren't performed to justify charges! Lightfoot mechanical is NOT an ethical company. Crooks, crooks, crooks. BEWARE! ****Update- after my husband called and shredded a manager, we were given a $181.00 credit on this invoice. They cited a training issue. I haven't gotten it yet. We will see. I still think I was overcharged.

We were looking at record-breaking heat not long polite, ago and my air conditioner decided it was a good time to go out! Lightfoot was so fast and their people were so nice, any waypolite and a joy actually to be around. They were very respectful and went out of their way to help in . Youanyway they could. The job was done ASAP and I am very happy with the work and the new friends I made :) Thank you all so very much you are #1 in my books. If you are looking for a company that is all about customers then you have found it here, I 100% would recommend them.

    Kitchen gas valve.

Unfortunately, once I had my new gas range installed, it was brought to my attention (by the installers) that there was no gas flow to my range! The valve was installed, but the Lightfoot plumber never tested it to see that it was actually working. Wtf?? Lightfoot sent a new crew out the next day and they informed me that the gas line to my kitchen had a previous leak, had been disconnected, and capped off in the attic... AND that it would cost $6800 to install a new gas line!! I had another (master) plumber come out for a second opinion and he quoted me a FRACTION of that price for the same type of installation. Lightfoot grossly overcharges and tried to take advantage of me, big time... I would never recommend them to anyone.

Atlas plumbing which I was a long time customer was taken over by this company . I had two leaks and they took care of the refrigerator water line leak promptly and Foro did an excellent job of explaining and fixing the issue. His helper prevented him framing m fixing the sink stopper and advised me to contact Moen for replacement part on the sink stopper leak which has to wait until the right part is received. the refrigerator water valve was not replaced based on his expert opinion that is still good and only time would tell. overall I'm happy and satisfied with the repair done today.

    Part #105000176 Rinnai

My whole house water heater went out on Saturday. I looked up a certified Rinnai service tech and Lightfoot came up so I called and asked if they could send someone out but only if they had normal failure parts on hand. I was told they do have parts on the trucks. Emergency Saturday,Sunday after hours calls are $249 trip charge. This does not get applied to your repair. Regular hours trip charge is $89. I told them to send someone Monday. The tech was great but, the diagnosis was going to be $300, and parts and repair would be a flat $749. It turned out to be a $16 water flow sensor that fits several models. He didn't have it on hand and had to order it. So, to order it and come back it would cost me $89 for trip charge, $300 to diagnose (which consists of calling the help line of the manufacturer and going through a flow chart) and then $749 to come back and fix it. They should never have told me they had parts to fix it on the truck, and then say "well we have some parts" it's the call centers fault. I paid the $300 diagnostic fee, and the $89 trip charge (good thing I didn't have them come on the weekend for $249 trip charge) and said thanks. I learned a lot from this, and lost a days work, and several hundred dollars. I ordered the sensor online for $16 and had it shipped next day air for $30. Seems very excessive to charge those rates, there was no way around the $749 for a sixteen dollar part. By the way a new unit is $1,300 not including install. I understand business have to charge and be competitive but as a business owner myself I'm having a hard time understanding how they justify this. I must say the tech was very nice.

We found a mystery exterior leak on our property the weekend before Christmas and had to shut off water to the house. After another plumbing company scheduled an appointment for us and then later canceled it with no explanation, we called True Plumbing on Monday morning. Eric from True Plumbing showed up when he said he would, took a quick look at our problem, and explained the three possible causes of the leak, along with how much each would cost to fix if said problem was found. The area would have to be minimally excavated to locate the underground leak. He was very up front about what the diagnostic process would be and what the repairs would entail for each of the three possible scenarios, including what he would do to avoid damaging the driveway. Eric was transparent, very easy to communicate with, and obviously a knowledgable, experienced plumber. After that five-minute conversation, my husband and I both felt 100% comfortable hiring True Plumbing to come back with a team to excavate the problem the next day. True Plumbing got to work when they said they would, the day before Christmas Eve no less. Sure enough, the problem was scenario #1 on their list of three possible causes of the leak. A decade before we bought the house, the sprinkler system had been connected to the house's water pipes using an illegal part that had finally failed. True Plumbing said that since sprinkler technicians are not certified plumbers, problems like that are common. Be careful who you hire to tamper with your water pipes! True Plumbing fixed the leak and we had water restored to the house within a couple of hours! The cost ($800) matched the verbal estimate to the penny. Use a debit card or cash to avoid the 3% credit card fee. They even completely cleaned up their work site. Real professionals. 100% recommend.

What initially created the need for the call was a gas fireplace that would not ignite I had previously tried ChatGPT, called a chimney sweep company, and even called the previous owner of my house, all to no avail. Within a few minutes of of arriving, Jordan was able to locate the hidden shut off for the gas fireplace and get it working pretty promptly. While here, he was able to notice a couple of other things that needed attention. My tankless water heater had been installed incorrectly by the previous plumber, and the technicians from Hukill's were able to manage that. And also, when it came to a clogged sink in our master bathroom, they were able to address that as well. By the end of our time together I had heard some good stories from Jordan, I was able to practice my French with Joseph and most importantly had a lot of small annoyances cleared up (literally) leaving my home in better functioning order than when they arrived. Based on the exceptional reviews, I called Schrader to come out and fix the problem. They sent technician Michael Badgley. I was initially given two quotes, one for roughly $800 and the other for $4,000. After a quick inspection of my home, Michael determined that he would have to dig a hole in the back yard at a cost of $5,700. While I didn't really understand how the quotes kept changing, I agreed to the scope of work as I'm not a plumbing expert and needed to get the stoppage resolved quickly. Bewildered, I later sent the receipt to my neighbor, who informed me that my house was pier and beam, not slab as it indicated on the quote. I recalled Michael asking me where the crawl space was and I wasn't able to identify it (my fault as an uniformed homeowner) although I showed him the area I thought it was in inside the master bedroom. He passed right over it without a second look. Later, after speaking with my neighbor, I was able to go over and find the crawl space myself easily. Michael fixed the pipe under the toilet in the main bathroom and then proceeded to tell me that I would need to replace all of the pipes at my house at a cost of $30k. He couldn't even assure me that the problem I had just handed over $5,700 for was fixed. The icing on the cake was the $100 bill that I had tucked into my lunch tote on the kitchen table in view of the technician, and when I returned later it was missing. That was certainly my own fault for leaving it unsecured. I was concerned about the entire process and wrote to the owner, John Schrader. I waited several days with no response to my email or phone calls, which spoke volumes to me as a customer. After my third attempt to contact him, I was finally passed off to a service advisor. I explained my concerns to him, that the crawl space was never properly identified and that I wasn't sure that the repair that was done was necessary. He offered me a refund of $750 "to remove my bad review" which I hadn't yet written. Less than 2 months later I experienced the same stoppage. I called Schrader again and was told that the pipes needed to be replaced. I finally called another plumber who identified the source of the stoppage, this time to be at the front of the house instead of the rear. They fixed the problem for only a fraction of what I paid to Schrader. He explained that the first repairs were unnecessary. If you like being robbed, by all means give Schrader Plumbing a call. I absolutely feel violated and taken advantage of as a single female homeowner. If you want to save your hard earned money and get the job done right, get a second opinion.
