You ever make an appointment with a company and they don't show up and you get frustrated? I certainly have -- and in my case, I made the appointment and I essentially did not show up. I got so many responses to my Yelp request, but was able to resolve my problem myself (with the help of a neighbor). I responded to the wrong company email when cancelling the appointment. So when Gabe called today to confirm the appointment and I told him no need for the appointment as I resolved the problem -- I was thinking he just had not remembered my email. Come to find out -- I did not cancel with Carroll Service. I could tell Gabe was not happy with me -- I certainly was not happy with me and we ended the call. After thinking about it, I sent an email apologizing for my screw up and offered to pay for a service call - Gabe said that was not needed. He just appreciated the explanation and would appreciate an opportunity to be of service in the future. I certainly will -- as Gabe was much kinder to me for my mess up than I would have been if they had been the ones to mess up. They were fast and friendly in their interactions and I hope that in the future I will be able to use their services. My husband and I were looking at adding some recessed lights in our bedroom as the only light we had in there came from the fan and it was very dim. We found Gabe on Angieslist and with excellent reviews my husband called him up. We were impressed at how quickly we were able to get him to come out to get the lights installed. Gabe was very personable and professional in his work. He took his time setting up in the room and making sure he had the entire area covered in plastic to avoid the dust from drywall getting everywhere (which as a Mom and homemaker I really appreciated. He did exactly what we wanted, 4 recessed lights, 2 of which are able to be maneuvered to shine on the wall. He also changed the switch out on the wall to incorporate the new light switch and added an outlet for the tv. Gabe recently installed recessed lights on the ceiling for my parents' house and mine. He also installed the front door lights for us. Somehow, one of the light did not work, I texted him about the situation. He responded my message very fast and also recommended us what type of light bulbs we should use/buy. I bought a the light bulb that Gabe's suggested and a different flood light for our front door. Gabe went back and fix it for us. The lights are working great after that. He did an excellent job! Three outlets in my kitchen quit a few days ago. I replaced the circuit breaker and GFI, but they were still dead. I called Carroll Service and Gabe Carroll was able to come the same day. He called ahead and arrived on time. He checked out everything, inside and out, and discovered a loose wire in the outside service panel from the 21-year-old original installation that had finally failed. He fixed it and then went on to check and tighten all the other connections in the service panel. He was courteous and professional and demonstrated considerable expertise. Carroll Electric Service ran wiring and installed speakers for a fairly complex home audio system - including installation of in-ceiling speakers, a center on a brick chimney, and outdoor speakers. I was very pleased with the quality, speed and cost of the work. The speakers were installed in the optimal locations and produced quality sound. Debris from the install was cleaned up and inside and outside of the house was left clean. Overall, very happy with the install of the audio system. I used Carroll Service to complete several jobs including: Replacing a ceiling light fixture in my kitchen pantry. Gabe recommended an LED fixture because of the low amount of heat generated and the very long life of the bulb. He also replaced seven flood lights in the ceiling of my 18 foot high living room with LED flood lights and replaced a dimmer switch for one of the lights. God Bless this company! My automatic gate opener was not working and I realized it was because the power outlet in which it was plugged was dead. I did all the resets and the breaker reset and everything possible and it wasn't working so I called Carol service. On the phone Gabriel asked me to go check in the garage and hit a reset button on a different outlet and that's all the problem was and he didn't have to come out and everything is working and he didn't charge me anything. read more

I had a fan rheostat short out and burn the wires; the breaker did NOT trip off. Gabs came the afternoon of the morning I called, assessed the problem, and fixed it that day. He has to return another day because he had to order the right color replacement rheostat, and on that day he replaced the faculty breaker.
