I came to Marshall Automotive to get my "new" used car checked out to make sure everything looked up to standard. They were able to get me in day-of after I called ahead to make sure they had availability. They were clearly busy, so there was a small wait before they got to my car but no issue for me. After looking everything over, they told me my car looked great and ran great, handed me back the keys and sent me on my way with no charge. I was so pleasantly surprised, as thought it would cost me at least a little something for the service of their expert knowledge, especially since I'd never been there before and they didn't know me. Everyone there was so kind and accommodating. Afterwards I asked them to change my oil while I was there, and they were happy to do so. It was $55 for the full synthetic blend, which I was also shocked by. Overall was just so pleased and excited by my experience here. Consider me a loyal customer. read more

Marshall Auto repair saved the day! And my 2 week roadtrip vacation!!!! Paul was great. Mike was amazing. They were honest, fair priced and now I am a customer for life!!! I have a diy campervan that I was trying to get ready for a road trip from Nashville to New England and everywhere in between. I brought it to Marks Auto repair in Mt Juliet mechanic (same one for 17 years) to get routine service and a new steering gear box. I was told that my van was not fit to do a 3000 mile trip and instead of camping, I should just get hotels. I was charged $397.00 for them to give me driver error codes (P1207) and tell me not only did my gear box need replaced, but my transmission was gone, my entire ABS system needed replacement and my engine could seize up and leave me stranded. Mark Jr. told me they didn't even want to repair it because it would be a lot of work and not worth the money for an older (2004 Ford e150) vehicle. I was devastated! I had this trip planned for almost a year and only had a month to get a repair and routine service. I pulled the carfax and the records were spotless and precise (except for the entries that Marks Auto repair put in). I knew the transmission just needed a drain and fill, new oil, and an all around check on tires etc... I took it to a trusted friend for a solid opinion and the gearbox was gone (I knew that) but said Transmission probably just needed a drain and fill, and that it would be fine. The Ford econolines were made to outlast. Some having 300-400k miles on them. Mine had 160k. Strange thing was, when I popped the hood to see if they changed/filled any fluid (since I paid almost $400) there were no signs of ANYONE there. No finger prints, no swipe marks from someone leaning over the engine, nothing! There was the same dirt with no disruptions as there was 4 months prior when I put a new battery in. They had my van for almost two weeks and only gave me useless Marta codes that were from raving the engine while in park (rpm vs torque error). The ABS codes or light hasn't come on except on rare occasion, but Mark jr made it seem as if I was going to lose my brakes completely and have a tragic and sudden loss of control. Scary. Long story, but this is not the first time Marks has been less than helpful and actually defeated the purpose of even bringing my vehicle into them on other occasions. For example, I had an oil leak in an '07 Mustang that had leaked onto my garage floor and they told me to just watch the fluid level, it didn't need to be fixed!? What? So for years, I had to put a pad under my car because I just trusted what they said. Now I know better. Now I know there are other mechanics who want to do the work, gain trust and don't swindle or use scare tactics to get you off the lot. When I brought my van into Marshall Automotive repair in Hermitage, they listened and tested the all the things. They repaired the steering gearbox got it aligned, changed my fluids, looked over all the other systems and gave me a thumbs up for the trip. It was a long, difficult journey and I did it solo. To be honest, there were some scary thoughts in my head thinking "what if Mark Jr. was right?" Completely paranoid at times and questioning everything made it difficult to truly enjoy my vacation to the fullest, but I had to trust my gut and my gut said Marks Auto repair was wrong. And they were! Thanks Marshall's for putting in the effort and expertise to see me off on my travels. You have restored some of my faith in the industry of auto mechanics. Finding a good mechanic can be a daunting task, especially for women. I am not sure of his name, but the man who runs the show is the nicest guy. I needed to have my compressor fixed, and with it being so expensive, he laid out my options for me. He made a less than pleasant experience positive. My car was ready in about 2 hours, and my a/c is ready to go, for the summer heat ahead. If you are going to wait, there are comfy rocking chairs outside and chairs inside. They have ice water, in a bin out front, a Keurig inside, and there are fruit and cookies in the lobby. It's also a nice touch to have different Netflix shows playing on the tv. We used to live in Nashville and always came to Browns. The owner is such a nice guy and is always open and honest about everything that needs to be done to the car. This place is NOT trying to rip anyone off. They seriously care about their customers and will call you if they find anything they hadn't anticipated. The prices are always better than fair and you'll always leave happy. We came back to Nashville for a week to see friends and a predators game and we had to stop in to Browns for an oil change. As I said, this place and the owner epitomize the term, satisfied customers and it shows through all the return business. My car was running hot and I needed a reliable mechanic. I looked in Yelp to read reviews in order to help me find someone close with lots of good reviews. In doing this, I stumbled upon Browns Automotive in Hermitage and I'm so glad I did! When I walked in I met Don (the owner) and told him about my car running hot along with two other things that concerned me. After leaving my car, I soon received a call explaining that I needed a new radiator. He also mentioned that the other two things I was concerned about were small issues and that he fixed both free of charge. He only charged me for the radiator and installation, which was such a blessing. I just can't say enough good things about Don and Brown's Automotive, not only are they reasonably priced but they are honest, and that to me is priceless. read more

We were on vacation when our check engine light came on. We called and they told us to come in to see if it was something that could wait to be fixed. Unfortunately it needed to be fixed immediately, but they got us in and got the vehicle fixed in about 3 hrs. They even paid for a Lyft ride to Andrew Jackson's hermitage so we didn't miss any vacation time. On top of it all they threw in a free oil change and tips on things to do and where to eat for the rest of our time in Nashville. Awesome customer service! Cheaper than any other place I've been but still quality work. You won't get taken advantage of as a women if you don't know much about cars and prices (coming from a woman who knows about cars and prices and has caught companies charging me extra for things. I also work on my own car a lot). Ive witnessed them treat their customers very well and do the right thing for people in every situation. I've never spent more than 15 minutes waiting to get my oil changed. They also always have snacks, water and coffee for customers as well as cool stylist pens that they give out.
