I had an interesting experience with Cars of LA as someone selling a car, not buying a car…read more I found them through my research online, I was looking for a business similar to Carvana where they make it seamless to sell a car. As I stumbled upon their website, I noticed that everything looked great. The website was well done with its branding, and the online form submittal with the VIN# match was spot on. Also, the overall look and feel of the site were good, which gave me some comfort. https://www.carsofla.com/ - in fact, they offered me $13,000 via text and wanted me to set up an appointment for an inspection. It was clear on their website that a representative will come over with all the necessary documents. (See attached screenshot from their website). This was false. From my multiple communication via text and also submitting another request from their form online, it was clear that they had no representative and that I had to drive my car into their shop for an inspection. That didn't bother me that much; it was only a 1/2 hour drive. When I arrived, I was a bit surprised. There was no shop. It was an office building, and there were no signs that said "Cars of LA". I entered through a door with a sign that said "....Trading Co." I can't quite remember exactly what it said. When I entered, the office was empty. It's a fairly large office space with about 3-4 small offices and a lobby area. Eventually, a gentleman showed up for my appointment, and we walked out to my car for an inspection. He first pulled out a device that I wasn't familiar with. Later, I found that it was a paint thickness gauge. He checked the paint throughout my car to make sure the reading on the device was under "7." He eventually found some parts of the exterior body that read over 7. He said my car was damaged and had been worked on before, which was not true. My car was never damaged or repainted for any reason. We went back into his office, and he offered me $9000 for the car. What? How did it go from $13,000 to $9000? It was so weird. And the whole paint thickness device was super weird, too. I don't know much about "purchasing used cars for resale business," so please forgive me if this is a standard protocol, but I felt a bit manipulated by this procedure. Anyway, I am not saying don't do business with them; I am just posting this to give the readers a more realistic expectation of selling their car through Cars of LA. Hope this is helpful.

Ok, so I bought a car from Ron on November 1, 2016 but was slacking on posting a review til now…read more I contacted Ron at GT Cars Inc. in mid October, explained that at the time I was in an open bankruptcy looking for financing on one of his Subarus. He explained that he could work with me once the bankruptcy discharges and to call him once it does. Score 1 for GT Cars Inc. since Ron was straight up with me to wait until discharge (I had other places tell me they could help me only to be denied with multiple inquiries). Score 2, he was willing to let me take the vehicle to a mechanic for a pre-delivery inspection. I had been looking at a 2009 Subaru Outback on his site for the few weeks I had to wait until getting my bankruptcy discharged and was eager to come check it out. So late October I got the discharge and went to go see Ron and the Outback, which I wanted for our family rig. Good thing my husband measured our dog to make sure the cargo space would be tall enough for her to sit comfortably - because it was just barely too short. Other than that it was a great used vehicle with low miles and a clean, well service documented carfax and limited engine and transmission warranty. So once we knew the Outback was a no-go Ron saves the day by informing us that he has an 06 Forester in the back - right on! He wanted to make sure that we understood that it was not ready yet - and explained what still had to be done. We walked to where it was and even though it was dirty and the bumpers still had primer it was like the clouds opened and the harps started playing! Yay - it was exactly what I had been looking for, even better with Ron explaining that the head gasket had just been done and all the details that went with that! Absolute score! So after the weekend and waiting for proper documentation on my end and for him to finish getting the car ready, we were able to pick up the car. It cleaned up real nicely and besides minor expected things on a ten year old vehicle - I am super satisfied with the vehicle and the service we were given from Ron. Ron made all the difference in the world between other places that were willing to finance me. He was a professional, which is hard to find anymore. The manner in which he explained the vehicle as well as the condition and features of the vehicle itself also far exceeded any of the competitors' value on customer satisfaction. In the end, I didn't even get the pre-delivery inspection done by a 3rd party - I felt that confident about the car and GT Cars Inc. I am completely satisfied with the terms of the loan, down payment, monthly payment amount and the price he gave me. Interest is on the higher end of the competitors' but I was so impressed with Ron's straight forward professionalism and experience that interest was not a priority. He explained how to lower the interest rate in about a year after making on time payments. Awesome, Ron - we could use all the credit tips after the bankruptcy. Ron also reassured us that should we need any service we could come to him. I live about an hour drive away, but I know I will use him in the future. Thank you Ron! I highly recommend GT Cars Inc for your used car purchase. He even suggested a good spot to grab a bite nearby!

The price was good, but it had a whole center console missing, with a pillow cover. the screen was cracked. The headrests actually had screens in the back, 1 of them worked and the other didn't and he said that's why he had covered them up and didn't advertise the screens because 1 didn't function. Mind you, these may be flaws others are willing to look past, but I'm the type of person that wants quality. there was many more flaws in the interior that's to much to mention, and the exterior had dents that aren't noticeable in the pictures, the tires were super old, it had oil leaks, and like I said more things I won't mention, all minor things I guess but when u add it up it comes out to atleast 3k more.. His advertising makes it seem like the cars are nice, it isn't until you get there that the flaws are revealed. And I drove all the way down there from Indio. A lot of these reviews are great and everyone says how " honest " he is, but an honest person wouldn't falsely advertise. He didn't reveal how the car was " not perfect " in his words, until we got there. He seemed like a nice guy, even when my boyfriend and his dad were expressing their dislikes, Gil said how he didn't take it personally, that he isn't attached to these cars. needless to say, Gil blocked me on facebook after I decided not to make the purchase. After driving an hour and 20 minutes from Oceanside, I was a little nervous on what we are going to get that I have experienced with cheesy used car dealers in the past who are high-pressure pitch, or try to be charged for these silly "mandatory" dealer add-ons (such as Lo Jack GPS tracking and /or protection film). Or the dreaded "oh so sorry, we just sold that one, but we have this ugly more expensive car over here!"...but nothing like that here. Gio was very knowledgeable and I liked his consultative sales style was also professional. He explained that they mainly buy cars "Green Light" from auctions: the auctioneer guarantees the purchaser (Hanna Autotomize in this case) that the car is mechanically sound regarding the engine, transmission, and drive train. The auctioneer that sell these Green Light cars offers arbitration to the dealer too (returning the car or getting repair costs) if hidden, major defects are found within a 7-14 days. Gio's dealer do charge a few hundred dollars (up to $995 I think?) depending on the car price) that covered the cost to replace anything after their own internal mechanic reviews the car, so that there are no surprises later that would have to be relaced by me anyways. They provided a CarFax for free and an option for a paid extended warranty for peace of mind too. I am really lucky to find this boutique family owned dealer and I highly recommend Hanna.

I waited & got no response back so I texted him & his response was, "his finance team left for the day, but he'll get me the OTD first thing when they open up!" Well, yesterday,Saturday 9/6/26, his dealership opens up @ 10am & I never got the OTD! I waited all fking day for this bastrd to send me it or at least contact me, but I got no response! I texted Gio in the afternoon which of course, no response! That evening before closing time, I called Gio & he claims that the OTD was sent to my email, which he never did, but he'll go ahead & send it to me right away! There was no typo since my email address was clear in the spelling! In conclusion, Gio will answer the phone, but not your text message!
