My hope is that if enough disgruntled people raise hell over this, that the company will be held accountable and brought to justice. I sold my 2017 Volvo XC60 to Bidlane on 1/2/24. I brought my vehicle, and a sales rep named George took photos of the car and offered $16,000, which I accepted. I signed a contract and they took my title and registration. The agreement was that I would be wired the full amount by 1/11/24, which never happened. I tried calling and texting various employee numbers. I could never get through. The one person who texted on behalf of the company kept asking for "my patience." After nearly 3 weeks of this, I finally went back to the location to confront the salesmen in person and collect my promised payment. But upon arrival, no one was in the office and it was marked "temporarily closed" until next year! On Yelp and Google, I saw that all Bidlane locations had closed as well. So my car has essentially been stolen by a fraudulent company. I am now without a car and without the promised payment. Bidlane can rest assured that I will pursue every legal avenue to get back what is owed.

After driving an hour and 20 minutes from Oceanside, I was a little nervous on what we are going to get that I have experienced with cheesy used car dealers in the past who are high-pressure pitch, or try to be charged for these silly "mandatory" dealer add-ons (such as Lo Jack GPS tracking and /or protection film). Or the dreaded "oh so sorry, we just sold that one, but we have this ugly more expensive car over here!"...but nothing like that here. Gio was very knowledgeable and I liked his consultative sales style was also professional. He explained that they mainly buy cars "Green Light" from auctions: the auctioneer guarantees the purchaser (Hanna Autotomize in this case) that the car is mechanically sound regarding the engine, transmission, and drive train. The auctioneer that sell these Green Light cars offers arbitration to the dealer too (returning the car or getting repair costs) if hidden, major defects are found within a 7-14 days. Gio's dealer do charge a few hundred dollars (up to $995 I think?) depending on the car price) that covered the cost to replace anything after their own internal mechanic reviews the car, so that there are no surprises later that would have to be relaced by me anyways. They provided a CarFax for free and an option for a paid extended warranty for peace of mind too. I am really lucky to find this boutique family owned dealer and I highly recommend Hanna.

I waited & got no response back so I texted him & his response was, "his finance team left for the day, but he'll get me the OTD first thing when they open up!" Well, yesterday,Saturday 9/6/26, his dealership opens up @ 10am & I never got the OTD! I waited all fking day for this bastrd to send me it or at least contact me, but I got no response! I texted Gio in the afternoon which of course, no response! That evening before closing time, I called Gio & he claims that the OTD was sent to my email, which he never did, but he'll go ahead & send it to me right away! Waited 5 minutes, got nothing so I called Gio back right away & this time this mfkr was in his car driving!! Then lies & says there was a typo in my email! There was no typo since my email address was clear in the spelling! In conclusion, Gio will answer the phone, but not your text message! They won't follow up with you because they want you to rush & be gulllable! Drove great until I took a road trip with the travel trailer from So Cal to Colorado. Assuming what I felt was "axle rap", I thought little of it until, we made it home, went to work the next morning when on the freeway, all stopped. The trans took out the torque converter and then forward pressure took out the crankshaft bearings. Not his fault. It was a used truck with low miles. Then,, a few months later I called him, told him what happen and he offered "anything I've got at price. So sorry about the truck" Picked up another Cummins, but newer, a few more miles. We sold in Cali, moved next door, while pulling the 5th wheel the 5hour drive took me just about 23.5 hours due to the overheating of the cracked head/blown head gasket. Stranded. I knew no one. I had no idea where to go. Found the Dodge dealer they gave me a $23,500 quote for a new engine. Called Amir. Told him what's going on. He said "OH WELL. YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE BOUGHT ANYTHING FROM ME." Then he rushed to the bank and cashed out the pre-written checks we agreed about, helping me out, All post dated. Couldn't contact the bank soon enough. I had JUST bought this truck from him, assuming it wasn't going to let me down on the road trip. Then turned into a $24,000, on top of the $27,000 I JUST paid him for it, not but a few days prior. $51,000 for a pile of metal. I thought little of the first truck and any kind of fault of his. Neither did I find fault in the second one, entirely, but maybe a little bit, being it last me very little miles. It's the attitude he gave me when I told him the truck I JUST BOUGHT is dead in the water that got me a bit on the bad side, then him rushing to the bank, cashing the pre-dated checks was just the tip of everything!

I had an interesting experience with Cars of LA as someone selling a car, not buying a car…read more I found them through my research online, I was looking for a business similar to Carvana where they make it seamless to sell a car. As I stumbled upon their website, I noticed that everything looked great. The website was well done with its branding, and the online form submittal with the VIN# match was spot on. Also, the overall look and feel of the site were good, which gave me some comfort. https://www.carsofla.com/ - in fact, they offered me $13,000 via text and wanted me to set up an appointment for an inspection. It was clear on their website that a representative will come over with all the necessary documents. (See attached screenshot from their website). This was false. From my multiple communication via text and also submitting another request from their form online, it was clear that they had no representative and that I had to drive my car into their shop for an inspection. That didn't bother me that much; it was only a 1/2 hour drive. When I arrived, I was a bit surprised. There was no shop. It was an office building, and there were no signs that said "Cars of LA". I entered through a door with a sign that said "....Trading Co." I can't quite remember exactly what it said. When I entered, the office was empty. It's a fairly large office space with about 3-4 small offices and a lobby area. Eventually, a gentleman showed up for my appointment, and we walked out to my car for an inspection. He first pulled out a device that I wasn't familiar with. Later, I found that it was a paint thickness gauge. He checked the paint throughout my car to make sure the reading on the device was under "7." He eventually found some parts of the exterior body that read over 7. He said my car was damaged and had been worked on before, which was not true. My car was never damaged or repainted for any reason. We went back into his office, and he offered me $9000 for the car. What? How did it go from $13,000 to $9000? It was so weird. And the whole paint thickness device was super weird, too. I don't know much about "purchasing used cars for resale business," so please forgive me if this is a standard protocol, but I felt a bit manipulated by this procedure. Anyway, I am not saying don't do business with them; I am just posting this to give the readers a more realistic expectation of selling their car through Cars of LA. Hope this is helpful.
