Was here for a work training today and the lunch the hotel served our group was some of the worst food I've ever had. The quinoa dish was horrible. It was uncooked and definitely a failed recipe. It was starchy disgusting and more then a couple bites probably would lead to some gastrointestinal distress. Not sure why they thought this was okay to serve. The other sides were a barley or farro dish and some potatoes/risotto dish. They were semi-edible but lacking any flavors. The worst part of the meal was the steak tips. They were an overcooked disaster that tasted like some sort of mystery meat. May I suggest cooking the quinoa more and the meat less. Seriously do better. I am not a picky eater but this was horrible food. read more

This Marriott was disgusting. I asked for an extra blanket, never got one, the sheets looked dirty and I got either flea bites or bed bugs from our one night stay. Told the guy when we checked out about the bites and he just said "thanks for letting me know" and asked someone to run up and check the room. UGH. read more

Great hotel, clean near the airport. The service was wonderful. The rooms are clean, updated and cozy. The hotel is near the airport but you can barley hear anything. Great job, at insulting the walls. The concierge lounge was fantastic. Clean and staff was wonderful. The breakfast was on point for a hotel, also nightly snacks was great as well. This hotel has the worst staff at the front desk and reservations. They do not have a customer service mentality and are not well trained. I travel a lot and find Marriott to be the worst-trained staff anywhere on the globe. They treat customers as numbers and not capable of good communication. In addition, Marriott uses an awful automated system rather than getting a person to talk to. Shame on you, Marriott for this poor customer service. I just changed my reservation to stay at HIlton because your service is so terrible. Customers have choices and I do not choose your hotel-- anywhere. read more

Stayed here one night for a conference. I had a room on 7th floor. Staff was helpful throughout the building. Everything was clean. It's a bit run down and dated but like I say, very clean so it didn't bug me. Food catered for our conference was the standard fare ( taco bar, sandwich bar, eggs/bacon and pastries. ) There is not a Starbucks or similar coffee establishment within quick walking distance :) read more

We arrived late at night and staff was very friendly and greeted us quickly. Nice main lobby and easy to find parking. Room was large and quiet. Very comfortable mattress and pillows. Bathroom was a nice size and I love the bathroom toiletries. We did not have the chance to eat a meal or drink since we arrived so late. I would stay here again next time in Phoenix area. read more

I had the worst customer service I ever had in my entire life, as an Crew member employee I have my layover in this hotel, after a 13 hours shift I when to the bar and ask for a menú, when I start order my food the bartender (Damien) say in front to other guests "I'm gonna be upfront with you, we don't do employees discount. In a completely disrespect way making me feel like, I was not able to pay $20 for a hamburger. On top of that order came with the different fries.! read more

We stayed here on our way to Sedona . From the first moments of our short stay we were absolutely amazed by the customer service, hospitality helpfulness of the hotel staff . We even got the hummus and pita platter and a handwritten note from the manager , thanking for loyalty. Things like that matter . We will definitely stay here again!!!! read more

I stayed here Sunday night on the way back from scattering my grandma's ashes (also some of my grandpa and their cat) at the Grand Canyon. That weekend work blew up. I was on my laptop in the car being a grouchy pain in the ass to my grieving family for the 5-hour drive to this hotel. I had to push my Monday morning flight to evening, and they let me check out at 6pm. Then I missed that flight, stayed another night, and they let me check out at 6pm again. I really liked the people working here. They made my life easier when I needed that. Good people. Didn't rub off on me, but I appreciate it. read more

We only stayed here for one night. It was the night after our wedding and we flew out from Philly and slept here before leaving for Hawaii in the morning. It was a quick stay but we have zero complaints. We totally didn't even think about transportation getting to the hotel from the airport until we arrived in Phoenix. We went outside to the shuttle area and quickly received a shuttle to the Marriott with a kind, friendly and helpful gent. He gave us advice for getting the shuttle again for our morning flight. He even asked what time we were leaving to see if he would still be on duty so he could take care of us. Check in was quick and easy. Check out was quick and easy. The room was comfortable. It was nice. It was clean. No complaints. We slept. We showered. It was a comfortable environment. The next morning we followed directions for getting the shuttle back to the airport. We were told what time the shuttle was leaving and that gentleman was ready for us at that exact moment. Both shuttle drivers helped with our luggage and were friendly and helpful. The lobby area was nice. The hotel itself was nice. The staff were pleasant. We would stay here again if needed and recommend it if you need to stay close by the Phoenix airport. read more

We decided to use Marriott's shuttle to airport. Came back from our vacation to find out our vehicle had two catalytic converters STOLEN. We were stranded then had to pay $2,000 to replace! Mgr said they're not "liable" for damage or stolen items. We were parked right in front! Horrible service at front desk. read more

I Came here for a holiday event that hosted 200 people for a Real Estate gala. Staff was very nice. The food was average. We had a chicken dish with vegetables. Cheesecake and coffee for dessert. Cash bar was available also. Small lobby bar had tv and college games on Overall clean hotel. Great location with easy access to highways. The Phoenix Airport Marriott is a very interesting hotel in the Phoenix area. Just as their name states, they are near the PHX airport. They also do have a shuttle service that will come and pick you up at the baggage claim. Please call them once you get your bags so they can send the driver out to get you. The hotel itself is stuck in a time warp. It doesn't seem like there has been much updating of the decor for a few decades. Which decade, I'm not quite sure. I don't want to offend any age groups. Once you get over that, everything else is fine. My most recent visit here was my second time staying here so it wasn't as shocking as my first visit. The beds are very comfortable and the showers have a really strong water pressure which I like. I've been to my fair share of hotels where the water trickles out. There is a concierge lounge on the 12th floor if you have access. read more

I would like to give more stars. The hotel is nice. The restaurant was good. The bar was nice. The lobby is great. The rooms are comfortable. I had some issues and asked for them to be taken care of. They didn't do it. I arrived late Friday. I noticed my bathroom was not cleaned properly. The toilet had stuff along the bowl. There was hair all over the floor and counter top. There was empty bottles of soap behind trash can. It was late and I would talk to the front desk in morning. I did that. I was told they would have housekeeping clean the bathroom. I was gone from 10-9 pm. When I arrived back to hotel, the did not clean the bathroom. It was the same. I checked out the next day and left a note for the manager about the room and lack of follow through. When I handed the note to the front desk, the gal remembered me and told me the person I talked to yesterday was the manager. The manager failed to follow through. This was not a good feeling. I travel a lot, and I usually try to stay at a Marriott. I enjoy staying at Marriott's due to their quick and mobilized check in and check outs. Facilities are usually clean, organized, and offer everything you need to have a comfortable stay. So, I'm a fan of Marriotts. So, unless there is something out of the ordinary, it's almost a waste of time for me to yelp, because the service is always awesome. I feel like my reviews are redundant. I decided to go ahead and yelp this place because I felt the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. We were visiting for a clinic. The clinic went from 8am to 1pm. Check out is about 12pm, right? When I called the night before to request a late check out due to the clinic, the woman I spoke with didn't even hesitate to offer me a 2pm check out at no charge. It was very kind. And it's that kind of customer service, why I keep staying at Marriotts and prefer to stay nowhere else. And hey, on time breakfast delivery room service and free shuttle service to and from the airport....why stay anywhere else?? ;) read more

If you want to stay right at the airport and you're a slave to the Marriott Rewards program, this is where you stay. I paid $180 a night which I thought was high for what you get. A penny more would have felt like a travesty. The room was comfortable. The bed was great. The flat-panel TV appreciated. Didn't understand why there was not even a chair on the balcony. Even looking at the freeway, it would have been nice to be able to sit out there. I like the lobby bar. Friendly employees and chatty guests. I usually stay at the Residence Inn in Scottsdale which is cheaper and closer to great entertainment and will probably go back to doing that but if you need to be by the airport, this isn't a bad choice. read more

Note: this is for a meal experience. A business colleague was in town and stayed at this Marriott. I dropped her off and met her for breakfast the next morning. The property is a quick on/off from the 202 and seems to have a good amount of parking. We had breakfast in the restaurant on ground level. A breakfast buffet is available, or you may order from a menu. I had an omelet and she had French toast. Both were great and service was quick. Can't speak for the rooms and other services, but the food was pretty good. read more

I suppose this Marriott is in quite a convenient location, especially since they have a free shuttle for the airport that runs pretty frequently ... but other than that I am not sure why you would stay here. There is literally nothing around this area, and even if you walk, you can't really find a lot of good places that are nearby. This is really a place if you want a cheap area to stay in and have a car ... other than that you will be very bored. The check in and check out is pretty fast at least and the staff seem friendly. read more

High crime area. Our vehicle was parked in parking lot of hotel. Paid parking. While we were gone it was vandalized. All the manager would say that we should have parked it closer to the building. They advertised as being a safe secure parking area while we traveled. Do not trust your vehicles safety here. read more

Where do I start? I guess I'll start from the beginning. My husband and I stayed here the night before we departed for our honeymoon. The front desk staff was so nice and helpful. Once we finished the check in process which was super easy and NOT PAINFUL, we went up to our room and started to get comfortable. After about 15 minutes, we heard a knock on the door. It was the concierge with a bottle of champagne and gourmet chocolate cake and ice-cream. We were confused (yet excited) as to why they brought this to our room. We did not order it. They just wanted to congratulate us on our honeymoon! How thoughtful is that?! The food and champagne was so delicious and they really made us feel so valued and welcomed. I have never experienced that before (without having to pre-order). Also, I'd like the driver, Carlos to get recognition. He was always on top of it. He got us to and from the airport on time and in style. When he picked us up from the airport, he even brought us refreshments. He was also very friendly, yet professional. If you're lucky enough to stay here, I hope you also get to experience Carlos. He's awesome! Thank you to the staff here for making our stay here so memorable!! read more

The amount of unsupervised children at this hotel was ridiculous. We couldn't enjoy the pool due to the screaming, cussing, and tearing things up. Also had a woman bring six teenage girls into the 12th floor lounge. I'm pretty sure it's one member and one guest. They made a mess, cut line, and were acting like they were at home. read more

Went to a job fair here. Very nice place. Friendly employees and people. Well put together conference room and lots of water and snacks for everyone. There was also candy but since I have braces, I stuck with the water. The day I was here it was very rainy so running to and from my car that day was very wet but it didn't take anything away from the experience . read more

Everyone here was super. The executive lounge is, unfortunately, closed on weekends so we didn't have a gathering place for the family. They gave us some suggestions and some water and brownies for the little ones. We came for my father in law's 80th birthday. It was a long drive to Mayer and then to Prescott. We had what we fondly called the bus. There were three families staying at the Marriott and each of us were treated special. My husband is platinum elite, but they treated everyone like they treat him. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Phoenix. Thank you for all you did for us. read more

As a platinum member I stay in my fair share of properties so I feel confident that I'm qualified to give a fair review. Extremely small bar area that seats about 4 people (at the bar top) and very a small lobby. The bartender and (1) server were outstanding and working they're tails off but could barely keep up with the demand on a Wednesday night. With the lounge area being so small plus the (1) small tv in the corner forget about staying here to watch some games. What are we in a Courtyard bistro? Luckily there are many places that are a short Uber ride away. The rooms were clean and unremarkable with the old school decor that I've seen in older properties. Beds were nice and comfortable. Overall, the hotel staff was very good! They really made you overlook the lack of amenities I look for when booking a full service hotel. It is a 10-12 min shuttle ride to the airport and the shuttle runs every 30 min. Hopefully you can get a discounted rate when staying here, you pay full price and you may be a little disappointed. read more

Shuttle buses available too but we didn't know you need to call for them to pick you up from the airport ( another van for another hotel told us) Rooms were clean, updated and very pleasant. I especially enjoyed the new Koehler shower with glass doors. The decor was pleasant for the bathroom and room. Lots of plugs for all of us to plug everything in. Also, water in the lobby w flavor fruit and a bar and lounge area. We got in late and ordering food by the bar was closing soon and t staff was very nice suggesting us to order soon if hungry before the kitchen closes. Marriott Phoenix Airport An updated lobby is not enough to redress this aging hotel. Hallways and rooms inescapably smell like mold or mildew. I'm no engineer but this seems like a musty-smelling hotel in need of drywall and airduct mildew/mold remediation and major renovation. There are some high points. The food is surprisingly good, whether in-room, in the restaurant or catering for our event. All staff members with whom I had contact were nice, accomodating and up to a Ritz level of service. Unfortunately, the poor condition of the hotel is at least as bad as the food and guest service is good. My room had a musty smell, peeling wallpaper and out-of-date furnishings. The shower/bath combo did not drain properly, so one has to stand in ankle-deep dirty, soapy water. I called maintainance. No telling if they ever came because no difference and no follow-up. The TV is up-to-date with "Internet TV" options to sign-in to your netflix, hulu or youtube account. Doors, hallways and other common areas are scuffed and cosmetically challenged in some places. Hallways and rooms smell unhealthy. No refrigerator. No safe. No USB plugs. Old everything in the guest rooms. Conference facilities were a B. Conference staff was an A. Marriott has an aging fleet. Other than through ratings, I cannot tell from one Marriott to the next whether its going to be a 4-5 star experience or a 2-3 star experience. There should not be this much disparity within the same brand. There are much better options even near the airport. If your company or conference provider books an event here (that is what happened to me), they had every reason to know better. read more

This trip was the second time I have stayed here. It's the same decor as 100's of other Marriott hotels, yet it simply feels like the cleanest one in the chain! Bright rooms. Clean rooms. Hotel is clean but the room and decors are dated. The main reason for staying here was the proximity to the airport and shuttle service to the airport. The staff are friendly. The shuttle, unexpectedly, was old and smelly, making me sniffle and sneeze. Driver just said that this shuttle, named Myrtle, had 350k miles on it. The elderly shuttle driver is trying his best to perform his comedic gig, but the audience is too sleepy to react. Tough crowd. I suppose I should feel lucky to have been on Myrtle and to have enjoyed the comedic routine of the driver. I'm waking up to face the world on Myrtle. Good morning World. read more

Not impressed with this locale. There was a dirty shirt next to my room door upon arriving. The floor was wet from a carpet cleaning and was so wet that my socks got damp. My goodness Marriott is going downhill and I am considering abandoning ship. I have never experienced such disappointment in my life at my fave hotel chain. The bar was open late and I had a great time watching the game and the bartender was such a dear. She had personality and spunk and made me happy just by smiling. The food was wonderful as well and that was quite surprising. It was hot and fresh and they had actual entrees that were seasoned well and I enjoyed it immensely. Checked in on Thursday night after a long flight. Checked out Friday morning. Only giving a one star because the employees are thieves and the managers are messy. Left a jacket in the closet and realized after we left. Called the front desk and they were no help. Was told to call back the next day. Called Saturday morning right on the dot for when they told me to call back! The desk manager and room manager both claim that they didn't see our NORTH FACE jacket and that NO ONE CHECKED IN THE ROOM AFTER US. So... if the maids have cleaned, and no one checked in the room afterwards, HOW DOES A JACKET GOES MISSING? We're from Chicago btw and we needed that jacket to come back to our winter weather. So disappointed how they handled this matter. So disappointed how they manage their employees. Will not be supporting this dishonest management. If we left the jacket for a few days, sure keep it. BUT IT WAS LITERALLY FOUR HOURS AFTER WE CHECKED OUT. Thieves and lazy employees there. read more

This hotel was recommended to us by some friends and we stayed here the night before our vacation started and was able to leave our car there while gone. Upon returning to our car, our catalytic convertor had been stolen. This hotel does not have any security cameras, but do have a security person that patrols 24 hrs. read more

Staff member that checked us in was very nice. After that it was all downhill, the TV didn't work, the bathroom light was out, the bed was like concrete and most definitely was not a queen. it took me 5 calls to get anyone to answer downstairs so I could get the light fixed, by then i was exhausted and told them to forget it. read more

We had a corporate meeting in Phoenix and over 200 of my colleagues stayed at this hotel from Monday February 26th through Wednesday February 28th. Upon check in we had to meet in one of their conference rooms for a health screen then moved across the hallway for a buffet style lunch. The lunch was not bad at all. The ambiance of this hotel was ok. Being a Marriott hotel, I did expect it to be a bit better. I have stayed in other Marriott properties but this one seemed to be dated. Bedding was comfortable and they give your four plush pillows! The bathrooms was nice but they configured it in an awkward design. The toilet dispenser makes you have to literally turn 180 degrees to reach it! The shower took ages to drain. If you showered, expect to be standing in 5 inches of water after you are done showering. There is an iron and ironing table available inside the closet area. The bar in the lobby is expensive. Beer is $8 a bottle. After our meetings, we went downstairs to this bar for a night cap and there was nowhere to sit and chit chat with your colleagues. The soft drink vending machines near the elevators did not work. It accepts $1 bills but it would not accept the dollar bills I put into the machine. A colleague went down to the lobby to get quarters and that didn't work either. The soft drinks are $2.50 per can! Very expensive. Overall, this particular Marriott reminded me of a Holiday Inn hotel. Definitely not one of Marriott's stellar properties. read more

This hotel is phenomenal. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and rooms are very clean, and it's just a comfortable place to stay. The water pressure is great, the location is close to a shopping center, and there's just not a lot to complain about regarding this hotel. Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling to the Phoenix area. read more
