We stayed here because it was central to both of my daughters games. My sister booked a 2 queen bed suite, but at check-in was told there was only a king and sofa bed available. I stayed here 1 weeknight because I had a work training in Mesa and didn't want to drive from West Valley in morning rush hour. This place does just fine for a night or two. It seems like it was recently remodeled. The lobby is very nice! The rooms feel like they are trying really hard to be classy, but fall short. The beds feel new and are very comfortable. Same with the couch. The TV is disappointing and the remote barely works. Continental breakfast is included and is well done! Nice assortment of options with eggs, sausage, potatoes, coffee, assorted cereals and baked goods. I'd stay here again for a night or two. read more

Hubby and I stayed here for 2 nights. Everything started off great. The staff are very friendly, the room was clean, and the towels were soft. Unfortunately, the reason for the 2 stars is for the AC unit, and the gap under the door. The AC unit wouldn't stay on, so it made it hard to sleep. The gap under the door is very concerning for me as a solo traveler. Someone can slip something under that gap and open your door. This was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I've had, especially for a Hyatt. The room was clearly neglected. The wood furniture was chipped and damaged throughout, not minor wear but obvious deterioration. The headboard looked heavily used and worn down like it hasn't been updated in years. The couch had multiple visible stains, which immediately made the room feel dirty. Combined with old carpet, the entire space felt unsanitary. The bedding was just as disappointing. Two half-size pillows and one regular pillow for a bed is unacceptable. The sheets were thin and cheap, and the down comforter provided very little comfort. The walls looked like a rushed patch job with mismatched paint, making the room feel unfinished and poorly maintained. Even the basics didn't work properly. The TV remote was difficult to use and barely responsive. This property is not living up to the Hyatt standard at all. It feels outdated, poorly maintained, and borderline run-down. There is absolutely no excuse for stained furniture, damaged fixtures, and low-quality bedding. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone expecting a clean, comfortable hotel experience. read more

We stayed here for 2 nights and our experience was good. The front desk staff was friendly and the check in process was breezy. The room was spacious for 2 Queen beds and a sofa (and I think it is a pull out couch but can't remember since we didn't check it out or needed it). The microwave and fridge is by a small counter with a sink. It also has a little desk and chair too for any work you want to do. The bathroom was decent and clean and the shower/tub and toilet is in one room with a door while the sink and dresser is right next to it, which makes it very convenient and you don't have to wait for someone to be done with the shower/toilet in order to use the sink. The beds are very comfy and clean. The dresser with drawers is quite dated and scruffed up though. It should be updated cuz it makes the room cheaper in quality and looks. The pool area is nice and has towels for guests to use. We used it 2 nights and the first night we had the pool to ourselves but the second night was full of people and kids. There weren't any towels available when I got there, so I went to front desk and asked for some. They also refilled the towels straight away once they heard that. I gave them props for doing that right away cuz they really cared about their guests. The free breakfast was very good! Much better in spread and quality than some hotels, for sure. It has sausages, scrambled eggs, potatoes, wraps and various breads, bagels. Has fresh fruit, yogut, hot oatmeal, boiled eggs, various milk types, juices and coffee and assorted cereal. Definitely a nice, good spread and they keep everything filled and refilled quickly. There's a lady who also helps keep the area clean and tables cleared quickly. Kudos to the staff for that, both the back and front staff! 2 things, though, I would suggest the hotel to consider: 1. While the closet has sufficient hangers, I find the room is lacking hooks to hang towels or your clothes, esp in the bathroom where you want to hang your towels. Some wall hooks would make it more convenient for guests. 2. The towel rack in the bathroom/shower is all rusty underneath. REALLY should change it cuz not only it looks terrible/gross, it isn't sanitary, health/safety wise. Overall, it was a good, clean hotel, has friendly staff, good breakfast spread and location is safe and clean. I would come back here again. read more

Not expecting much from a Hyatt so deep into Mesa's suburban hell, but it's a decent spot to stay if you have to do a lot of zipping back and forth across east valley freeways. What I like: Spacious rooms, comfy beds, decent Wi-Fi, and a well-executed breakfast. They all use the same ingredients, but some Hyatts try harder than others. This is definitely one of the better ones. The laundry room was also convenient and well-maintained. What I did not enjoy: There's no actual restaurant in here. You just order at the front desk and someone from behind the scenes will prepare your meal or drink. That is, if they have anything left. The menu is sparse enough, but during my visit they were fresh out of anything I wanted. At least you can walk to *sigh* Cracker Barrel from here. Whatever you order, be careful that your fridge actually maintains an adequate temp before bringing any leftovers back. Walls are also paper thin, and I couldn't take a call in my room because I could hear my neighbor's call crystal clear. Truthfully, I think you can find quite a few more enjoyable and convenient options in the same price range. It's not even as good as the other Hyatt Hotels nearby. read more

The staff were always pleasant. Had to have first room changed due to shower not draining properly. The furniture within the room was old and worn. Shower curtains had visible stains as did the blankets. There were rust stains in the bathroom area. The sink faucet handle in the second room fell off but we were able to pop it back on. Pool area looked great but we didn't get a chance to use it. Great potential if updated. Close to ASU and lots of walkable places for entertainment and food. Would likely opt to stay elsewhere in the future for more updated rooms. read more

This is a solid place to stay, though a little on the high side as far as price. Olivia and Gabriel were outstanding, as was the breakfast crew and housekeeping staff. Just four knocks: 1. Bathtubs instead of showers. No thank you. I don't want to die falling out of a narrow tub after showering. 2. Huge gap under the doors. I don want to get a contact high when the Jamaicans in the next room are passing the dutchie on the left hand side. Plus door gaps in scorpion rich Arizona mean you might get a midnight visitor or two. 3. Powdered eggs at breakfast. Perhaps a delicacy at a correctional facility but not what I would expect from a $250 a night Hyatt property. And 4. The carcinogenic chemical cream cheese caulking paste is not only unpalatable, but disgusting. Pony up the money for some Philly cream cheese. read more

I am writing to express my concern regarding the billing practices associated with my recent stay. I prepaid for my reservation in full; however, I later discovered that the hotel was trying to charge an additional three times without authorization. This situation is both concerning and unacceptable, as prepaid reservations should not result in repeated or unexplained charges. Furthermore, the process of attempting to resolve this matter has been frustrating and lacking in clear communication. I was told it was a glitch each time. Luckily the charge didn't go through due to me putting a hold through my bank. Im assuming if the charge would have gone through, it would take 7-10 days to get my Money back. Which is unacceptable. I strongly encourage the hotel's management to review and improve its billing procedures to prevent similar issues in the future. I also advise future guests to carefully monitor their credit card statements when staying at this property. Also on a different note: I had a very uncomfortable stay at the same time due to constant itching from the moment I arrived. It made it difficult to sleep and raised concerns about the cleanliness of the room, especially the bedding. I hope management addresses this issue to prevent it from happening to future guests. I had to go to Walmart to purchase Benadryl to relieve my discomfort. read more

This was poised to be a five-star review until check-out. First, I want to commend the evening front desk attendant, who was exceptional--personable and attentive. I am a Hyatt member who travels weekly for work At around 3:30 AM on my first night, my smoke alarm went off while I was sound asleep. I promptly contacted the front desk, and the staff member came to my room. He walked over to the air-conditioning unit, smelled it, and then suggested that if the smoke alarm went off again, I should call him. His demeanor was seemed to imply that I was responsible for smoking at such an hour, which I found completely unacceptable! I don't smoke. It's clear that multiple reviews are highlighting issues with smoke alarms going off. 2nd reason, I had charged my wine to my tab, and the next morning, while I was in the lobby for check-out, I was approached about an issue with my credit card. This discussion took place in front of other hotel guests, which I found unprofessional and completely unnecessary, especially since I hadn't even checked out yet. This interruption was distracting because I was in the middle of something important. I instructed the attendant to run my credit card again, without inserting it or taking any other action on my part, yet it was processed without a hitch. I am left baffled by what the initial issue was. This interaction certainly tainted my experience and is far from the high standards I expect from Hyatt. I found this approach extremely off-putting. We stayed here a full week as a family, and saw how it was both during the weekend and weekdays. The hotel was nice and overall it is pretty good, but not great. The rooms are ok, but the beds are smaller, not true queens, smaller doubles at most. Breakfast was good with enough variety so that we were not totally bored by the last day, and there was an assortment of coffee and teas also. The breakfast staff was good about refilling items for the most part, but on the weekend they did run out of items. Overall, our stay was ok and the location was good as it's in a nicer part of Mesa, called River Front. One of the first nights, there was a cricket on my wife's bed. Thankfully, it wasn't a cockroach, we notified the staff and was told that, it's common to get crickets inside when it is very hot during the summer. We stayed during early September so it was quite hot still. The gym was smaller, with few machines, but still ok enough. The pool was pretty nice and and my kids and I swam there several times while we stayed there a full week. But there were people smoking marajuana often, so we kept having to leave. That's not exactly the hotel's fault that some guests smoked pot in the parking lot right around the pool, but there was no smoking signs which, not even close the pool, so we also saw people smoke close to the pool. read more

Watched a homeless man stick his hands in every breakfast bowl and platter out on the breakfast bar this morning for 20 minutes before he willfully stumbled out. Another guest and I were the only ones that saw but neither of us said anything because this guy was FILTHY and scary. No staff to be found... Stuck around to report it but no one removed the food. None of it. Not even the eggs he was fisting into his mouth with his dirty hands. Staff was apologetic once I told them, but can't believe they just let people eat the eggs he was elbow deep in before attacking the sausages. Gym is small. My husband and I just stayed here for Thanksgiving and wow! We were impressed. The hotel was nice and clean and the rooms were huge! We booked through Hotels.com, but had no issues checking in. The amenities included 24 hour fitness center, a pool, a restaurant, a bar, and a little golf green with a few holes. They served continental breakfast, which was pretty standard food wise. No waffle maker though. The hotel is very dog friendly, but there is an additional fee per night. The quality and size is worth the price. If we are needing to stay in Mesa again, we would not hesitate to rebook. read more

Large shopping also nearby and large new Riverview park with water features & fantastic playground . The Hyatt with comfortable suite like rooms with big corner sofa ( bed) , desk , mini refrigerator . Big free breakfast area off library , pool and putting green in the rear . Absolutely the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The rooms are so small and the staff at the check-in/out counter were complete asshole we were traveling by car from Kansas to California. We arrived here at 5:30 am, and we needed to have a late check-out to get the proper amount of sleep. This guy charged $50+ more to check out 4 hours later!!! read more

STAY AGAIN? No. The hotel double-charged my credit card and the second charge is still pending on my credit card. The hotel said the second charge was releasd and it is not their responsibility even though they are the one who made the second charge. Most hotels place a small charge ($25) on a pre-paid reservation, but Hyatt charged me for my full pre-paid amount plus the $25. I called Hyatt but they refused to fix the problem. A week after my stay at Hyatt, the full charge + $25 is still pending. Hyatt blamed my credit card company rather than take responsibility for their error. My credit card company said they would have to submit a fraud report. I've already spent way too much time on this issue that Hyatt created. Otherwise, the hotel stay was very nice. read more

Enjoyed our three night stay at this Hyatt. Comfortable large room, friendly helpful staff, a snack/coffee bar and inviting restaurant area and front lounge spaces. The best part was the included breakfast which had choices for all types of eating styles including delicious steel cut oatmeal with slivered almonds, raisins, honey, brown sugar. This hotel is a little bit more dated compared to the other Hyatt Place I stayed at in Tempe (okay that one was brand new but I wanted to try this location out during an overnight stay in the Phoenix area). Staff were super friendly and acknowledged my elite status. I was on the third floor overlooking the pool area. Tv's were a little in the older end, toilet/shower area separate from bathroom sink, and all rooms had a couch (or my 2 queen bed room at least did). Breakfast during covid was different - hot option was a breakfast burrito, bagels, coffee, fruit, and yogurt were the options during my stay. Overall, not bad of a stay and wouldn't mind returning here again! read more

Checked in very easy, big room appeared clean until I decided to go to bed later and pulled back the sheets to the bed, the sheets looked like they hadn't been changed and then I decided to inspect the pillows and their was a hair on my pillow. I was so tired, so I switched over to the other bed and guess what there was a blue hair on that pillow wth... so I grabbed a towel and threw it over one of the other pillows and went to sleep. I was going to complain to the front desk, but honestly I didn't want to deal with it. I was in town for my sister's memorial. So why bother I was exhausted both nights. The rest of the place seem clean, but I did a wipe down with my wipes before I touched anything. Basically easy check in and out , large newer room and it stayed cool. As a matter of fact the entire staff was great! Always smiling. And breakfast....OMG. I was impressed! The couple days I went the offerings were slightly different and it was good. I'm so glad that the staff were in top of cleaning since certain parents allowed their children to have a free for all touching themselves then everything else . The only thing I didn't care for which I think is worth mentioning was how the breakfast area was set up. We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights because my kids had a track meet at Mesa Community College for the weekend. Upon arrival there was plenty of parking. Check-in was fast and the two guys at the front desk were very helpful, informative and friendly. The hotel is literally 5 mins away from a plaza that has Walmart, Burlington's, a movie theater, and plenty of restaurants. Riverview park is about 5 mins away and my kids loved the huge new playground. They even have a splash pad/water area as well. Now as for the free breakfast..man I wish I took a picture of the breakfast because it was actually pretty good. French toast, eggs, bacon, fixings to make a little breakfast burritto, fruit, bagels, toast, mini donuts, oatmeal, cereal, juice, coffee and tea! I told my kids eat up! lol. Because my kids had a track meet, I totally forgot I had to wash their uniforms and thankfully they have a laundry room on the 3rd floor. It takes only quarters but you can get change at the front desk. 2 dollars to wash and 2 dollars for the dryer. They even have laundry soap (dry soap) and dryer sheets which are also 2 dollars each. This hotel is the kind where after staying, you are looking for an excuse to come back and stay again. Quality, quality, quality, quality. That about sums up this hotel. You wonder why it has such a high Yelp and TripAdvisor rating? Because this hotel is that good. The moment you walk in the door to the lobby you can tell. Personnel: 5 stars From the first moment we checked in to when we left, every person on staff was friendly, acknowledged us, and was helpful. Everyone smiled and said hello. Everyone. The front desk, the breakfast ladies, the housekeeping staff--all smiled and said a greeting. What? You LIKE working here? Location: 5 stars The Hyatt is located right next to/is part of the Mesa Riverview Park shopping open air complex. Department stores, lots of restaurants, Walmart, Bass Pro Shop, professional services, specialty shops--you're all set. Even though the Hyatt is part of the complex, you would never know in the hotel that you were. This Hyatt is also close to several attractions. We personally went to Papago Park which has the Phoenix Zoo, The Desert Botanical Gardens, Papago Golf Course, the Municipal Park for the Oakland A's training. This is a 15 minute drive or less from the hotel. 15 to 20 minutes away is Piestewa Peak, great for a vigorous hike with great sights of the city. And there are more. This is a nice home base location for Phoenix, Mesa, Tempe, and Scottsdale. Facilities: 5 stars The lobby is comfortable. There is a two computer workplace. Wifi is free with a clear and strong signal. 9 hole putting green. Exercise room. Swimming pool and jacuzzi. There is a handicapped assist lift for the pool and the jacuzzi. Plush towels for the pool. Others said there is a TV there, but I did not check that out. There is a bar that is open all night where you can also order food. There is no room service, but you can order and pick it up. Alas, they do not have trays to carry your food back to your room so it is a juggling act or have others help carry it to the room. The menu is nice, though, and reasonably priced for hotels. The halls are not narrow. Exit signs posted at crawl level in case of fire.Two elevators reduce waiting time. Free Breakfast: 4+ stars Hot skillet items. A type of egg on a muffin with different varieties each day. With basil or cheese or onion, or bell pepper or ham, etc. Actually tasty and not like an Egg McMuffin, thank goodness. Also alternating with pancakes or French toast. Plenty of drinks, cereals, tasty pastries, bread, muffins, oatmeal, fruit. The breakfast area was really nice. Like a restaurant, not like an after-thought space or room like most hotels serve their breakfasts in. The dishes were all plastic, but designed to look like glass and porcelain so it still looked classy without the breakage safety issues. All the utensils were heavy duty, nothing cheap. Rooms: 5 stars We had a corner room with a King size bed. It had a living area built-in with a sleeper sofa, a love seat, and an ottoman. A nice 47" LCD LD flat screen TV with remote. This was mounted on a station so that you could plug in your own device (Bluray player, laptop, etc.) with an HDMI cable, 15-pin video cable, RCA cables, miniplug audio cables, and power. Easy switches, too. Really nice. Bring your favorite gaming platform and go for it. All of the doors, the room door and the closet door were impressively thick and heavy. The walls must have been well insulated and thick because we heard nothing from anyone or anything at all during our three-day stay. The beds were comfortable and gave a good night sleep. The room temperature was controlled by a thermostat. There was free coffee and tea. A refrigerator. No microwave, you would have to use the one down at the bar. Drawers for your clothes was next to the refrigerator and was below the counter space where the coffee maker was. There were only three drawers. We managed, but it would be nicer if there were more drawers in the room. The bathroom was nice and not cramped with enough space. The towels were full sized, but not the most plush I've ever experienced at a hotel. Plenty of hot water, was never an issue. Nice enough shower head and a curved curtain rod to give more room. Quality complimentary shampoos, conditioners, soaps, lotions, etc. The room had two windows, which made for nice daytime light and a good view. Very comfortable and enjoyable room. Price: 5 stars The price was a steal. Especially since this is the busy season for Arizona. Could not believe the price I got on this through their website. Hotels.com, Expedia, etc. all had the same price as they. The rate was the same for this 3 star category hotel as it was for a 2 star hotel. We loved our stay! read more

I called early this morning and spoke to the guy answering the phone REGARDING MY THREE NIGHT STAY AT THIS HOTEL WITH A LATE NIGHT ARRIVAL. The GM named Shea was the guy answering the phone. I told Shea I was coming in late tonight and requested a quiet room that was NON-connecting BECAUSE IM A VERY LIGHT SLEEPER AND NEEDED TO OBTAIN GOOD REST DUE TO MY JOB. HE said he would do what he could but that I was in a hotel. I informed him I'm an Ambassador with Marriott & Diamond with Hilton so I'm well versed with staying in hotels and that's specifically why I was calling early in the morning with my request to give him enough heads up to assist me. Needless to say, IM IN A CONNECTING ROOM, which is the very thing I asked him NOT to put me in. The guy I spoke to was Shea, the GM. Hence, I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone! I recommend everyone drive a little further to Hyatt House North Scottsdale. The Scottsdale hotel has great people who will assist you and the hotel is very nice and well maintained! The fact that I called so early today in order to give this hotel well enough notice to work on accommodating my one request to NOT be in a connecting room and still given the exact thing I didn't want only proves this Shea guy should not be in customer service! Make sure you are aware that they don't clean your room anymore and they don't tell you that when you check in. Very disappointing as they do not give you fresh towels or anything. They say that you have to let them know you want your room cleaned. read more

I was horrified when I woke up and happened to notice the blanket when I lifted it up and the sun caught it. The blanket appears clean until you do that. Hold it to some light and see it's insides. I called the front desk immediately and it took too long to get a response so I waited at the front desk for a manager. I walked him to the room and showed him. He said it's a down blanket and it's NORMAL!! I told him I have down blankets and pillows at home and this is not normal. This can be caused by poor upkeep/ drying methods that lead to the development of mold inside. He may not be so educated but likes to think so, as mold is impossible in his eyes (because it's down LOL) He completely blew me off so I stormed out well before check out. Completely disgusted. He followed me out as I showed the photos to people, especially with baby's in their arms and he told them all I was crazy. All the while the people I showed these photos to were completely disgusted... Can I put zero stars?? read more

Amazing place!!! Great customer service. We would like to come back in the future. Recommended from our family. We are so very demanding for purity and order. Breakfast healthy; nice area everything super close; great parking spot and swimming pool. Personal so friendly and helpful ( they provided me with the help); I would like to have some changes: 1) extra shampoo and conditioner( for 2 people, was just one of each); 2)room 315 need fix "water button in the shower" doesn't work very well. 3) the washbasin has a scratch in the middle. Just advice, you are guys so good, just need to do some things to be a little bit better then You Are. Big THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!!!! read more
