During a very difficult time in my marriage, my husband and I attended couples therapy with him, and the experience was disappointing and unprofessional. He spoke negatively about me directly to my partner and made unnecessary, inappropriate comments (including remarks about my emotions that felt dismissive rather than constructive). We only attended two sessions because the therapy was not helpful, supportive, or conducive to personal or relational growth. Unfortunately the first session was long and I paid a lot to sit and fight back and forth with my ex for the entire time. The recommendation was to read a book he had in his bookshelf. My ex is a veteran and has PTSD and substance abuse. There was domestic violence as well. I do not recommend a life coach to anyone with a similar situation as ours. A situation like this needs a psychologist along with military support for the abuser, if that person is military and maybe even a psychotherapist. I wish he could've stopped us in the middle of going back and forth and made a more professional recommendation. This was a stepping stone to finding what was really needed. We are not together and I got the help to get out via therapy with a psychologist and empowerment groups. Got a restraining order and am safe. Life coach can be good for some but for matters like this, I would have to disagree. But I'm grateful for the experience at that session. read more

When we found Coach Luis, my husband and I were legally separated, with no hope for reconciliation, whatsoever. My wife and I have received counseling before But never like this. Our problems have been highly self-destructive in the past; in fact, we even had a counselor tell us that we should go our separate ways and just split already!
