Someone has died in your care and drugs are given that are not needed by the patient. Belongings vanish. Do not send a loved one here.

My man is Michael. I'm a 42 year old man on methadone maintenance that has struggled with a panic…read moredisorder since high school. In my teenage years and my early twenties I had a severe addiction to short acting opiates. Mostly OxyContin. I was also prescribed 6mg of Xanax daily for the majority of my life. I was dropped from my provider and left in a dire situation. I was familiar with Dr. B as I had been following his content for years and had used several of his videos as teaching aids. I never thought that I would get the chance to ACTUALLY work with him. I'll forever be grateful for the care and compassion of Dr. B and his treatment team. I've never met anyone as knowledgeable about addiction, pharmacokinetics, and human behavior as this man. He's not just intelligent either. He's extremely kind and has an amazing bedside manner. Meeting him was a surreal experience for me. It's like meeting one of your heroes. I am so used to being treated like a second-class citizen and having my opinions and experience dismissed. This was absolutely not the case here. It was completely different. I had recently titrated down to 4mg-5mg daily from 6mg of Xanax. I arrived in California with no medication. I met with Dr. B and his team at Zephyr Medical Group. After an evaluation he said; "I have a sneaking suspicion that I can stabilize you on 1mg Klonopin T.I.D. I would've doubted anyone else. However, I trusted Dr. B and agreed to his plan. At this point I was at the height of benzodiazepine withdrawal. I was on day two with no medication and I looked like the walking dead. Despite my prescription being written the pharmacy downstairs was unable to fill it. I was able to get ahold of Dr. B's assistant Nichole (who is an amazing human being and a large part of this company's success) who relayed that information to Dr. B. I was able to speak with the P.A.'s who tried to find another pharmacy CLOSE BY for me to pick up my medication. I got to the pharmacy only to be told that I would have to wait 24 hours as it was a controlled medication. I could not wait 24 hours. I called Nichole back in a state of panic. She was able to calm me down and assured me that Dr. B would fix this and was on his way to a pharmacy. She said he would be in touch in 30 minutes. Sure enough, he was! He PHYSICALLY left his office and drove 45 minutes away (to a compounding pharmacy he works with) and informed them that I would be coming and explained my situation. He was actually going to deliver the meds to me IN PERSON! Which would've been another 45 minutes out of his way. This type of stuff never happens. Especially to a lowly methadone patient. I don't care who you are, this type of care is rarely seen (if ever) and deserves to be recognized. I'm not joking when I say that I thought that last Uber ride to the pharmacy might actually be my last. That's the severity I'm talking about. Since I've been here, Dr. B has met with me several times and is constantly checking in to make sure that I'm doing alright. The way that he does things is far different and much more personal than anything I'VE experienced or anything I've even SEEN. He believed in me when I wasn't sure that I could believe in myself. Of course he was right. I've stabilized on 3mg of Klonopin. Significantly lower than the 6mg of Xanax AND I'm getting better medication coverage. I don't have that horrible feeling in between doses either. I'll never forget the care I've received here. Dr. B is not just an amazing and talented doctor he's a wonderful human being. He surrounds himself with people that aren't just knowledgeable but people that actually CARE. I am so grateful to have had this opportunity to work with Dr. B and his team and for the personalized care that he delivered. He's one of the good ones. He understands addiction and he won't judge you. I don't believe you'll find anywhere NEAR the level of expertise and compassion that I've found here. Thank you Dr. B! Thank you Nichole! I will never forget the kindness that you both have shown me and others LIKE me.

I am blessed to have Dr. B treating me and managing my medication. Dr. B gets it and he is very…read moreknowledgeable when it comes to these types of medications and drugs/alcohol abuse. I was an executive professional using Xanax, for 10+ years straight every day taking 15-20mg a day. I also drank a lot of alcohol and for about 2-3 years I added Oxy to my addiction that I had no idea it was laced with fentanyl and morphine. (Oxy was introduced to me when I learned I had two collapsed disc in my neck). Long story short, when I went to get help my PCP referred me to Dr. B because my PCP actually attended one of Dr. B's events. My PCP even told me that "Dr. B is the best in Orange County, CA." I was already going through detox hard so before I saw Dr. B, I found another doctor that I thought could help me a lot faster like that very day. Medication wise it felt like that doctor stripped everything away too quickly and they were also changing my psych dosages because I was getting really weird symptoms like body jerking/horrific muscle spasms, brain felt like it was shaking or trembling, skin felt like it was on fire at times, seeing flashing lights and the terrible list goes on with the highest anxiety I have ever felt (anxiety, and panic attacks was how I got introduced to Xanax by the way) When I met Dr. B, he knew exactly what to do, knew exactly what I was going through. I honestly believe, God put Dr. B in my life to help SAVE my life. I live a completely different life now, and I have over seven months sober. I can't thank Dr. B enough. Anytime I'm with Dr. B, I feel safe, and I know that he understands me and passes no judgment against me. I highly recommend other doctor's, physicians to listen and follow Dr. B's ways of thinking and ways of treatments. The world would be in a much better place if there were more Dr. B's out there lol.. I have gone through several years of doctors/physicians/ER doctors/ anyone who worked in medicine treating me like I was nothing , I didn't matter, I'm a bum, trash etc., but there were several times where I really wanted help and these doctors cast a judgment on me really fast seems like I had a label on my forehead and never got the help I needed. again thank you Dr. B. You are a miracle and I am so grateful for you. And I know I am not the only one he has helped, this man I know has helped probably more than thousands of people in his lifetime so far!

I had to change my provider a few times before meeting Dr. Won. Other helpful things to keep in mind: Unless you are looking for Spravato or medication requiring blood pressure or other active monitoring, virtual consultations are possible. She has two office admins who are very quick to respond to emails, help with appointments, and prescriptions. If need be, they also speak Korean fluently. Spravato is offered for in person visits and a private room with a reclining chair as well as soft music is provided along with heart rate monitoring. Please note that their in-person office hours are before 4PM on weekdays.

We live in Koreatown, and my son suffers from addiction, Bipolar I disorder, depression, delusions,…read moreand severe suicidal impulses. He has been hospitalized multiple times in psychiatric facilities and has also completed a stay in a rehabilitation center. After finishing his rehab program and returning home, we searched for a nearby psychiatrist and found Dr. Won, whose office had good reviews and was within walking distance. However, when we contacted the office, the reception staff repeatedly told us that we needed to bring either a referral from my son's primary care physician or a letter from his insurance group confirming that, if the group declined payment, we could submit the claim directly to Health Net. My son is covered by Obama Health Net, and his assigned insurance group is Legal Group. To my understanding, psychiatric care does not require a referral from a primary care doctor. Nevertheless, because the office insisted, he contacted both the primary care physician and the insurance group. Both confirmed that Health Net does not require a referral for psychiatric care, nor do they issue any letter or document of the kind the office was requesting. He informed Dr. Won's office of this over the phone, but they showed no understanding or flexibility. They continued to insist on the same requirement and even went so far as to suggest that we change my son's primary care provider in order to obtain the form they wanted. They also said that if we were unable to get a referral but still wanted to see the doctor, we would have to pay $350 upfront, and that they would later reimburse us only if they successfully received payment from Health Net. Just one weeks ago, my son attempted suicide and continues to suffer from severe depression. Despite this difficulty, he made every effort to gather his strength, see his primary doctor, and call the insurance group as requested. It is deeply concerning that the staff at Dr. Won's office seemed unaware of the vulnerable state of the patient they were dealing with. Their focus appeared to be solely on avoiding any potential financial loss, rather than on the well-being of a patient struggling to stay alive. In the end, my son did everything he could to meet their demands, but due to their unreasonable and repeated requests, he ultimately gave up on seeing Dr. Won. After days, he could contact with another psychiatrist, whom he met today. The new psychiatrist did not require a referral -- which aligns with the standard procedure for psychiatric care. Although I have not met Dr. Won personally, it is difficult not to conclude that the reception staff's behavior reflects the overall attitude of the office. Here's the English translation in a clear and professional tone: Although Dr. Won is a young psychiatrist in the community and many patients seek her care -- with some likely benefiting from her treatment -- based on my own experience, it is very sad and distressing to feel that she views patients who are struggling mentally and desperately seeking help merely as a source of income.

Today I had an apt. with PA YEA. My appointment was very disappointing…read more Dr. Yea was speaking so fast, her words didn't have spaces between them. I couldn't understand her words. She seemed to have a lack of composure, and today I received poor bedside manner and a complete lack of professionalism. She rushed through everything cutting me off the whole time. She asked if it was possible for me to be pregnant to which I replied. Yes, it's possible, as I had unprotected sex a couple times a week or 2 ago and missed a few days of my BC, so there is a very very small chance, and she asked if I was using birth control after I said that, to which I kind of stared at her for a minute to try to understand what she was asking, and I said yes, I take the birth control I just told you about. she asked what's it called? I told her. she responded, oh oral, THEN SHE Said You weren't using condoms or any other kind of birth control and my response was nooo... and I felt that was a judgy weird question. (I've been with 1 person the last 18 years)and she said well don't you think you should take a preg test ?.. in a condescending tone, which I responded that I do test if I have sex, especially if there's ejaculate that goes into me, I definitely do. And then she continued asking several more times, Don't you think you should know if you're pregnant in a condescending tone and facial expression. "Don't you think you should find out if you're pregnant" to which I replied well it "takes a couple of weeks after you have sex for you to get an efficient test result and I have the date which I need to test in my phone." and her response was "oh that's true." It was very weird. I was surprised at how uneducated, rude, contentious, and condescending she was. She seemed to not remember how pregnancy works until I reminded her, and made me feel uncomfortable by seeming to shame me about not knowing if I was pregnant yet. Meanwhile I've been with the same man for 18 years. But this PA had poor composure let alone decent bedside manner and continued to express her bias. She acted Pompous, shaming the use of medications, xanax and ambien, that I worked really hard to come to the solution of w a medical team, over 4 months cycling through many medications. And I've been successfully using the medications as needed without any negatives for over 5 months. She pushed more anxiety and depression type prescriptions I wasn't interested in taking because my anxiety is circumstantial from a toxic relationship and some harassment, but she jumped right into shaming the use of Xanax and ambien saying they were "just bandaids." A unbiased conversation about medications would have been appreciated more than shaming me in a condescending tone. Briefly mentioning a stimulant can not be mixed w Xanax or ambien, which I was clear on. She tried incessantly to push a daily depression/anxiety medication on me and it became very uncomfortable as she seemed to become agitated. She knew very minimal medical history of mine and didn't want to hear about anything that went against her opinion to push me on meds. SHE WAS Not trauma informed, I explained my CPTSD diagnosis and being diagnosed with SEVERE MEDICAL TRAUMA and AFTER HER PUSHING MEDICATIONS FOR ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION WHEN I NEEDED HELP WITH AN ADHD DIAGNOSES, PLUS HER SHAMING ME ABOUT POSSIBLY BEING PREGNANT WITH OUT KNOWING, AND FURTHER SHAMING MY need/use OF XANAX AND AMBIEN, I NEEDED A MOMENT to walk out of the office to help me process the treatment I was receiving and she was visibly confused AND ANNOYED and even interjected with telling me I would be taking the time away from our session and we only have 20 minutes, to which I replied that's fine. Clearly not trauma informed and that's weird because she works under a psychiatrist. I went in there for help finding out if I HAVE ADHD, and I just needed guidence, maybe talk about medications. I left feeling like a number. I told her we do not have a relationship with any prescriptions because she made me feel very uncomfortable. I told her I have been on a healing journey, and I've found my voice, I respect and appreciate her opinion and thanked her for her time, but I don't agree with it ( needing an ssri etc). And I told her I am uncomfortable and the door is now closed with any and all medications through her. Needless to say, I will never see that PA again. I absolutely did not receive "individualized care and compassion", as the medical director claims about this place. I strongly recommend PA YEA gets some training in trauma and someone to oversee her medication use as the treatment I received today exhibits someone unstable. At the very least she showed a lack of life experience, lack of medical experience and medication bias.
