AMAZING! By far, the BEST full body massage I have ever experienced…read more My appointment was very last minute, currently in last stages of packing for our move out of state in 6 days. My stress and pain level was at an all-time high. Two hours later I walked out feeling fantastic. All the aches and pains throughout my body were gone. All the pent up stress and tension was gone. And I sleep through the night for the first in over a month. Call them! Make an appointment! You will be glad you did.

No one here asked my name or offered their name so for the purpose of the review it will just be…read moreshe or they as I don't know anyone's names. I scheduled an appointment online with Blue Sky a few days prior to coming in. My appointment was for 1 pm, I arrived 5 mins before this and waited in the lobby. When someone came to the desk they seemed surprised I was there and asked if I had an appointment which I told them I did. They motioned for me to sign in on a tablet that had very little paperwork and pre - information spots available. Only thing I could do was pick areas to focus on and sign. Did not include anywhere for medical concerns or areas to avoid. The woman at the front desk was rushing me through this process as well. I was then told it would be a 20 min wait while leading me to the room. I agreed that was okay. She instructed me to go ahead and take off my clothes and wait on the massage table then left. I waited there on the table for 45 mins listening to very loud music that personally was not my taste and was not peaceful. After 45 mins someone finally came in and said sorry for the wait and put heated bags on my upper back and lower back and said it would be another 5 mins. 15 mins later (1 hr from my scheduled appointment time) the massage therapist came in - I do not know her name either. She asked me how long I wanted the massage and then as soon as she got started asked how it was but then no further interactions. The music during the massage was a little more soothing except for the fact that it kept skipping or getting turned on and off randomly. The massage itself was relaxing but it did feel very generic and was not tailored to any of my specific needs. When I was told it was done I noticed that my time was cut short by 10 mins. I was left alone to get changed and I went up front to pay. I was offered water when leaving which I appreciated. No offer was made to try and mitigate the long wait time and I paid full price for everything. I even tipped when paying for the massage and left cash tip for the massage therapist because I believe in doing so for any service work. It just would have been higher had I had an overall good experience which I unfortunately did not.

When I chose Virgin Skin Laser, for hair removal, they were running a "half off" special…read more First, the "half off" price was $1,400 (full payment upfront for 4 treatments; areas treated: armpits, full legs, throat, and inner derriere). Second, when I started treatments there were two technicians working at VSL. Kym (the owner) and a younger lady (Kristen). Kristen did at least half my treatments. It's important to note that Kristen was also fired so Kym did my remaining treatments. Third, the organization of client records is terrible. My file was lost a few times, and even when they had my file I was always asked what areas I was having treated ... When you spend $1,400 on treatments, it would be nice if the technician knew exactly what areas you were having done and actually kept track of your progress. (Because of having 4 different areas to treat, I was advised to split up the appointments in "lower" and "upper" which meant coming in 8 times for the "4 sessions"). Fourth, once VSL has your money it doesn't really feel like they care if you are happy with the results. I often felt like they missed spots or didn't start up high enough on my legs ... and there were times I had to remind them not to forget an area because they were in a rush to get done and get me out the door. I was rarely asked if I was satisfied with the results and for $1,400 it is obviously important to me to see great results (the sales pitch was 99% hair reduction guaranteed). Fifth, when I asked about touch-up appointments and told Kym that I was unsure with the results I was seeing, I felt I was brushed off. Kym didn't seem to think I would need touch-ups and would not give me a straight answer on what the cost would be. On the first appointment, Kym insisted that I book my appointments 4 weeks apart "Or all of the hair will grow back". I did a little research on hair growth cycles, and while it is probably beneficial to do the first couple appointments close together, generally technicians start spacing out appointments to 8-12 weeks to ensure they catch the entire hair growth cycle. When I had my 4th session, I brought this up and was told that "All technicians do things differently" but Kym also admitted she thought Kristen might have used too low of a setting on me. In recompense, she offered to let me "model" her new machine for a single 5th treatment. Oddly, she offered to to do my legs and arms (as I had expressed interest in paying for my arms to be treated once the other treatments were finished, if the results were good). While this seems nice, I was frustrated that she wasn't more interested in making sure the areas I had already paid for were fully treated. Sixth, I did call and speak with Kym after the 4 treatments were finished and a couple weeks had passed. I was still getting spotty hair growth in all of the areas, with the inner derriere area being the worst with hardly any reduction. I told Kym I was uncomfortable modeling the new machine (Cynosure Icon) and that I felt the fairest compromise would be for her to use the equipment I paid for (Cynosure Elite) and re-do the treatments Kristen had messed up. At this point, Kym flip flopped and said Kristen used the right setting ... She also had many other excuses about hormones, some people being harder to treat than others (I am light skinned with super dark hair - so the easiest, actually), and so forth. I am not a pushy or outspoken person, and I feel Kym took advantage of that. She said I could book an appointment for the new machine "and we'll see how it goes". Seventh, when I showed up (yesterday: November 9th 2018) to do my treatment on the new machine, Kym did not seem happy to see me. She does not have the warmest bedside manner anyway, but I immediately felt very uncomfortable. She made it clear: "This will be your final appointment. If this doesn't work you should try electrolysis or something." Again, I am a very polite/quiet person, so I just nodded ... For the entire treatment she acted as though she didn't want either of us to be there. Eighth, the machines are very different. The Cynosure Elite: smaller spot size (and even Kym admitted it is superior to the Icon for hair removal), a hand piece that shoots out a quarter-sized orange/red light, and a tube that blows cooling air. The Cynosure Icon's hand piece is rectangular instead of round and it actually is pressed into the skin (the tip is cold like an ice cube). Both machines give you a painful zap - but I felt like the Icon was MORE painful (perhaps because you actually have something pressed into the skin versus only feeling the zap from the laser with the Elite). Kym seemed to forget that she was to do my inner derriere, and as I didn't really see how the Icon would work for that area I left without being molested by the machine... Ninth, there's a happy little sign at the front desk that says "NO REFUNDS" with a smiley face ... So that's $1,400 down the drain! :(

A while back I decided to treat myself to a massage. I talked myself out of it for several months…read morebefore I finally called A Touch of Class to set up an appointment. It was my second ever professional massage. I've never quite understood the appeal of a massage, and my first encounter didn't leave me wanting me to race back for another. Finally, in early January, I called and made an appointment for the shortest and most basic session offered. I arrived to a small building in back of a house. Stepping inside, I immediately understood why they dubbed themselves vintage. The decor is homey and welcoming with none of the sterile atmosphere many modern spas have adopted. Both have their advantages. I sat a table set for tea in a room that looked like a tea house. The desk was discreetly tucked to one side. The massage began with a complimentary infrared sauna session. I entered the sauna room. It's a small room with a couple of chairs, a water dispenser, cups, books, and a coat rack with robes on it. The sauna is tucked into a back corner. It's quite comfortable and relaxing. I ignored the books planning to meditate in the sauna, but I soon discovered I couldn't quite get into a meditative state. I'm not sure why. The massage room is on the other side of the building, so I put on a robe, gathered my things, and headed over when my sauna session ended. The room was small with a massage table in the middle. It was surrounded by tables, chair, and cabinets. I settled on the table, and Linda came in to start my massage. She did a thirty minute massage with stones. She referred to the massage type as La Stone. I wasn't expecting the La Stone massage, but I found it very relaxing and even invigorating. I listened to her retrieve the stones and felt them as she pushed them into my skin. She placed two heated stones on my hands and left them there as she continued the massage. The stones felt smooth as the glided against and skin and pushed into my muscles. I felt tension drain away from places I didn't even know I held tension. She used some essential oils as well which were a bit strong for my personal taste but are likely just what others enjoy. We chatted for a bit before I left. The experience was delightful. I look forward to another massage at A Touch of Class though I'm still not quite ready to make it a regular thing.

I am new to the area and booked what I believed was a neck microneedling service after seeing it…read morelisted on the salon's website as "Neck Microneedling - Add On" for $150. As a new client, this appeared to mean I could book this service individually. When I arrived, I was told the neck service is not offered on its own and is only available with a full face microneedling treatment. I calmly explained that the wording was confusing and that I only wanted my neck treated. Instead of offering options, the owner said they "have to open a bottle" for the neck treatment and that it is "too expensive" to only treat the neck, making it clear the issue was financial rather than a simple misunderstanding. When I asked what my options were, she responded that "it's not confusing, it's listed on our website," and then stopped engaging with me. When I said I didn't understand, she said she "would not be interrogated anymore." and "leave or I am going to call someone." This situation could have been resolved with a calm explanation and alternative suggestions. For context, I am a long-time local business owner who values professionalism and respectful service and have never experienced treatment like this. I typically encourage people to address concerns directly with business owners and work toward resolution. In this case, however, what mattered most to me was how quickly this owner escalated a simple misunderstanding rather than choosing patience and communication, especially in a world that needs more peace and understanding. As someone who has owned and operated local businesses for many years, I understand misunderstandings happen, but how the owner escaled this situation needs to be adressed publicly.
