had a hard time identifying the correct restaurant to review! they have so many maroushs all over edgeware road! based on their website this is maroush IV. but on yelp it is cafe maroush. rather confusing indeed. anyways, our initial destination was a persian restaurant along connaught street. but my friends were rather worried about repercussions from the iranian-british row and decided against going there. the alternate was to be maroush gardens but they were not opened yet. so somehow we ended up at cafe maroush. as it was my friend's treat i left the ordering to them. we basically had 3 types of dips. 2 of the chickpea variety and one eggplant based. am not a big fan of hummus so cant say very much about it. the freshly baked breads that goes with it was nice though. the eggplant based dip tasted slightly burnt so that didnt do it for me as well. the salad was very fresh and minty. plain olive oil and lemon dressing. then came the charcoal-grilled chicken wings! it was really well grilled indeed. crispy blackened skin with a moist shiny tender interior. then balance the charred taste with a light lemony fluffy foam. the main course was a mixed grill and then a lamb cutlet with fries. but after the heavenly wings, the other dishes just doesnt come close. the fries were well fried but the lamb was a little overcooked. the mixed grill items dont even come to mind. forgettable. service wise was slow. they just opened and were taking their own sweet time dressing up.

I was recommended this place by my Uber driver. Seeing that he was middle eastern decent surely he would guide in the right direction and sure enough it was fantastic! We ordered the lamb swarma wrap and the mixed grill plate and fattoush salad. The flavors were spot on and the kebabs were grilled to perfection, not over grilled or dry that leads to the demise of many restaurants. Nope not at all. The fattoush was mixed well with the limey concoction of spices. They also have a variety of fresh squeezed/pressed juices. I got the melon juice, made fresh daily. Pretty authentic and glad we stopped by here!!!

free baklava at the end!

I absolutely love this place. The best, most authentic & freshest mediterranean food I've had outside, well, the Mediterranean. Their juices are SO refreshing, especially MELON! We always order the baba ganoush (mashed eggplant w/ pomegranate seeds mmm), creamy hummous of course, the fattoush salad (topped with crispy fried pieces of pita), and the shish taouk wrap (chicken pieces grilled to perfection, gherkin, covered in garlic sauce). My boyfriend and I can safely say we've been here 37 times in our 3 years in London and have taken every single one of our friends who all walk away extremely satisfied. Great prices, great food, good for groups. You really can't go wrong. (PS they dont actually take reservations, but are still quick and accommodating to large groups).

Special lamb cubes | One of the nicest things I've ever had really recommend this to anyone nearby

One of the best restraunts I've been to in a while. Lots of tasty foods really recommend it to anyone nearby

Hummus and chilli sauce was really good, otherwise the food would be a bit dry.

Awesome spot! With a lot of Lebanese taste behind me, I can say this place is it. Do Fries in the Shwarma and try the Batata on the side!

Easily the best restaurant in London! Great wine selection and impeccable service. We ordered…read moreseveral small plates and appetizers so that we could try several dishes. Everything was absolutely delicious! The octopus might have been my favorite. You can't miss this restaurant!

A friend of mine had raved about Ottolenghi when she heard I was coming to London, so this…read morerestaurant was at the top of my must-try list. Maybe my friend over-sold it and got my expectations up too high, because I was pretty disappointed in this dinner. We were asked if we wanted still or sparkling water. We said still and were brought out a £4.50 bottle. I know it's common to charge for water in Europe, so I didn't think much about it until I noticed that everyone else around us had refillable glass bottles -- free tap water that we were never even told was an option. We were seated downstairs at a large communal table. I don't necessarily mind that, but it was so loud that having a conversation was very difficult. My cocktail was delicious, but so tiny. The wine list was decent -- a good mix of options at various price points. As for the food, it was very hit or miss. The mushroom starter and the pork main dish were delicious. Unfortunately, the two most expensive dishes were disappointing. The prawns had great flavor, but a strangely soft, mushy texture. For me, the flavor made the weird texture okay, but my husband couldn't get over the mushiness of the shrimp and hated this dish. The sea bream was very bland and dry -- highly disappointing for the most expensive item on the menu. We ended on a high note with the affogato dessert (Yum!), but for such an expensive meal, there were just a few too many misses for us.
