What a great experience! $5 tasting, and it was so much fun! Service was great, and they didn't rush us. Place was clean and spacious!

Blue Marlin and Amelia Spritz

Very cute tasting room. The blue marlin drink was my favorite! We did the tasting of the rums, vodkas, cellos. My husband loved his OF Twist. We enjoyed our conversation with the bartender. She was very welcoming. Wished a remember her name because she deserved a shout out.

One of the most delicious and quaint tasting room located in Amelia island. I made sure to pass by this place when I visited Amelia island. I tried 3 of their liqueurs and brought one back with me to San Diego. My recommendation is the orange blossom because it reminds me of Florida and the taste is just like oranges. I'm glad they do free tastings! I definitely do not regret it and will come back here whenever I visit Amelia!

Grapefruit and tangerine liqueur

My husband and I stumbled across this distillery while exploring the Amelia Island area. I'm so happy that we did! Upon walking in, the mixologist, Shannon, was super friendly and greeted us to sit down and try some spirits. The atmosphere was clean, chill, and down to earth. We sat at the bar counter and even though there were others there, Shannon was attentive to all of us! She was so happy, friendly, knowledgeable, and wonderful! We were given a pamphlet of the spirits they have like liqueur, vodka, rum, whiskey, bourbon, etc. that we can sample if we would like to! Shannon was VERY impressive. She knew by looking at us which spirits we would like. She read me and my husband to a T! She knew I veered more towards the sweet types like flavored liqueur and vodka, while my husband to the rustic, dark spirits like rum and bourbon. They definitely hit the jackpot with her! Here's what we sampled: Grapefruit liqueur: 9/10 - it was flavorful, sweet with notes of grapefruit. It had a little bitter aftertaste but it wasn't bad. I'm the type who likes mixed drinks where I can't taste the alcohol haha. I really liked how nicely this went down. My husband liked this one too! Tangerine liqueur: 6/10 - this has nothing to do with their product but my personal opinion and preference. It was a bit too strong and bitter for me but the tangerine notes were present. House made berry lemonade with vodka mixed drink: 10/10 - this was my favorite!! It literally tasted like a delicious berry lemonade and reminded me of those hot summer days where you cool off with a glass of iced, cold lemonade. The flavors were amazing with the vodka and I could not taste the alcohol! My kind of mixed drink! You can also sample this as well! After sampling, I bought a cup of the drink! Espresso rum: 9/10 - my husband tried this and he loved it. Definitely try it with some creamer! Shannon suggested this and he loved it! Pineapple rum: 6/10 - my husband didn't care for this flavor too much. Again, his taste buds might be different from yours so I do recommend you try it and form your own opinion! He just didn't like the taste personally. Shoreline straight bourbon: 9.5/10 - pretty sure my husband's eyes rolled to the back of his head. He enjoyed this so much that he bought a bottle! I can't tell you how it tastes but it must have tasted nice and smooth for him to buy a bottle. Blueberry lemon zest vodka: 9.8/10 - this vodka was made for me! Shannon mixed it with some lemon juice and oh my goodness! The aroma of blueberries and the tartness of the lemon juice and zest paired well so nicely together. I barely tasted the alcohol and fell in love with this combination. So much, that I bought a bottle of it! I felt like I was on a picnic on a summer afternoon. Shannon chatted with us for a bit afterwards. I can't tell you enough how pleasant she made our time and tasting there at the distillery! We left happy and satisfied with our purchases. My husband also bought a T-shirt because he enjoyed the experience so much and wanted to support local businesses. Definitely check this place out! It's a such a great experience and the tastings are awesome!

This is a hidden gem that I never knew existed! I am so glad that I had the opportunity to meet the incredible team who run this place - everyone is super down to Earth and they want you to have a good time. I enjoyed sampling some of the drinks and ended up going home with the Peppered Vodka and a Bloody Mary mix. It was a great purchase! Come check out this cool spot and have a swell time!

My husband and I had a wonderful time at Marlin and Barrel. We had the opportunity to meet the owner and talk about his spirits and how he found his passion! We tried some of their rum and whiskey as well as signature cocktail brinks! They were all very smooth and tasty. I especially loved his espresso rum and he mixed it with some creamer (which made it even more delicious). My husband loved his whiskey. We ended up purchasing a bottle of his whiskey which the owner signed and put a cute note specifically for my husband on the side of the bottle. Overall, we had an amazing experience and will friendly come back again to buy some more alcohol and purchase some more signature cocktails! I love supporting local business and hope his business continues to thrive and prosper =)

Vodka, gin, rum, and whiskey for everyone!

Popped in during a trip to Amelia Island and had so much fun! My friends and I decided to walk from the downtown area (about a 15 min walk) and when we arrived, there was a friendly young lady who welcomed us right in and told us to sit wherever. As we sat, we could overhear her explaining the specific liquor everyone was tasting and I knew this was going to be a fun time. She handed us small cups and poured a small amount of one of the flavored vodkas and it tasted so good! She explained how they make it, the process, and even suggestions on what other drinks it could be paired with. She continued to do this for the entire tasting of maybe 8 to 10 different types of spirits. I was in complete amazement of her and how she knew exactly what spirit everyone had already tried along with her enthusiasm. Not to mention how she moved about the room to check on people to see how they enjoyed what they were tasting and to answer questions. She was a true expert and had such a wonderful personality. The space is pretty open with a bar area with a tv where you can sit and hang out as well as a few high top tables and chairs. There's small gifts throughout the distillery ranging from small gift bags with three different types of spirits for $11, stickers, magnets, shirts, hot sauce, mixers, tea towels, wine tags, and other gift ideas but the only gift I was interested in was which bottle I could take home to remember this experience. I purchased a bottle of bourbon for my husband which was around $65 and my friends also opted to take home a few gifts as the spirits we tasted were simply amazing. If you're ever in the area and looking for something fun to do, stop by! No reservations were needed so no excuses, go grab a drink or two!

I can't wait to come back for another visit! I accidentally posted here, when it was supposed to be on the event page and check in. I really like the place a lot.

This place is a must visit so glad we decided to swing in for a quick tasting in our way back to the Omni. Noel was fantastic and offered a flight of their spirits. I was excited about the bourbon and whiskey but all of their spirits were delicious. Their bourbon is Floridas first bourbon clocks in at 86 proof and carries a 4!year age statement. The shoreline bourbon has a nice balance we sweetness and is super crushable. Definitely bringing a bottle home with me. My next favorite was the 2nd street Gin. Tons of nice floral notes and is definitely easy drinking. Good gin doesn't need a mixer and this is good Gin. I planning on enjoying this one with a little Ice. We'll done M&B y'all put out some quality spirits.

Easy five stars! Shannon was our mixologist and in charge of the pours! Samples all around! We enter in and was greeted immediately with the question :would you guys like to try some samples?" Does anyone who walks in actually say no to that??? Heck YEAH we want to try samples! Next question- you wanna try whiskey? That was a "he** yeah" from me before I realized she was talking to the couple at the end of the bar, next to us. Oh- my bad! Nope~ everyone laughed and she poured whiskey for all of us! Yay!!!! Smooth too. Then she tried to steer us back in order. Vodkas, Tangerinecello, Orangecello and lemoncello all delicious! The gin was fantastic! Rums- we had to buy the over-proof, we had no choice. And John tried the spicy one mixed as a bloody mary and then on it's own. He enjoyed it, but would he drink an entire bottle by himself? So many flavors- so many samples! We rescued a few bottles- the over proof Rum and I opted for the tangerinecello and the orangecello. Ironically enough- we bought lemoncello from another area local- just a wee bit south the same weekend. Lots of flavor on my bar! John grabbed a pint glass for his never-ending collection and I added a cute tank that says "drink well with others" I'm a social drinker- so it's true. Now I need friend to come over and help me drink! They have delicious spirits- some very unique, some pack a punch! They have great swag/merchandise and some artisan items as well! Can't wait till next time we are in the area- but we will be avoiding the Cat Angels... drinking...adopting.... JK- there was a good 2 hours between the two events, even though I would love to say the whiskey made me do it- I didn't drink enough to claim it! Shout out to Shannon for being ah-mazing!!! Super fun! Hope we see you next time!

Marlin and Barrel is located in the 2nd Street of Amelia Island Historic District and they were in attendance at one of Yelp Jacksonville's events. Discover your spirit by attending their tastings. Shannon was our bartender and she's very knowledgeable and friendly. My alcohol tolerance is low so I came out of there buzzin like a bee! RUM - Bearing Light Rum - made from Florida blackstrap molasses - Bearing Amber Rum - carries smooth caramel and wood sugars with hints of whisky. - Bearing 153 - Florida's highest proof spirit in a barrel - Bearing Vanilla Bean Espresso Rum - slightly sweet on the approach with an espresso finish VODKA - Venture Craft Vodka - made from Florida molasses with hints of sweetness - Venture Standard Vodka - classic American grain-based vodka - Venture Smoked Pepper Vodka - made from sugars of molasses. Spicy with balanced heat CELLO - Blossom Orangecello - hand zested all Florida orange liqueur - Blossom Grapefruitcello - hand zested all Florida grapefruit liqueur GIN - 2nd Street Gin - well balanced flavor-rich gin that takes from old world botanicals Our favorite was the Blossom Orangecello so we purchased that one for now. This gives me a reason to come back. I want to buzz like a bee again.

We had an INCREDIBLE time! Shannon walked us through a tasting of all their unique spirits, and we loved hearing her passion when explaining how they create their one of a kind liquors. All the flavored spirits are infused with natural ingredients and botanicals, and there isn't a dud in the bunch! Our personal favorites were the fruity 'Cello's (their take on Limoncello, with multiple flavors), the Espresso Rum, and the Smoked Pepper Vodka. We took Shannon's recommendation and made an AMAZING spicy Vodka sauce (picture below). Can't recommend this place enough! We've been coming to Fernandina for over 15 years, and this will be a new staple for us!

I think this might be one of their more under rated themes. If not this, then their retro them for certain. It's almost hard for me to write about their cocktails nowadays because they're always so good. I went ahead and attached a LOT of photos to this review of cocktails from the past several themes they've done as well. I just love the fact that they always have real craft cocktails, not just a minor twist on something that they're charging more for. It's worth noting that they always offer Mocktails and THC infused drinks for the non alcohol drinkers. We didn't try as many things as we usually do but we REALLY liked what we did get a chance to try. Off the top of my head, I'd say the Cabana Boy was my personal favorite. That's the whiskey sour that comes as a pairing in the Twin Palms special. My wife liked everything enough that she didn't have a favorite. If you haven't been to Grey Matter Distillery; go check out this theme because it's a good one. Then make sure to keep on eye on them because I'm guessing their Retro Theme will be coming back next and I'm always excited for that one too. He said to a lady simply trying to follow her friends through the door because she hasn't been paying attention. Edit: the owner reached out and assured me that the issue with the bouncer has been resolved satisfactorily. The mark of a great venue is how they treat their customers, and the owner here is top notch in his dedication to making sure each customer has a great experience.
