I always love visiting Burlock and Barrel. I turned my favorite honey jalapeño into a delicious Old Fashion with addition of habanero bitters. It was the perfect balance of spicy and sweet. I love the interior. Beautiful chandelier paired with barrel tables. Nice size bar with fun conversation.

Burlock & Barrel is such a great spot if you're into whiskey or just want to learn more about it. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable and creates such a cool, laid-back vibe that makes the whole experience feel welcoming (not intimidating at all). We tried a whiskey flight and loved it so much we ended up taking home the Tropical bottle no regrets! Definitely a must-visit if you're in Riverside. Pro tip: grab an arepa from next door first it gives you a solid base before diving into the tastings. Great atmosphere, great selection, and a spot we'll absolutely be back to.

Wonderful little secret in Brooklyn, a tasting room at the distillery. Nicely appointed with a nice bar and great cocktails using the house spirits. The bourbon was very nice, a step up from one of the other local distilleries I've sampled. The operation is new and focuses on small batch bourbons which allows for some experimentation. I love the fact that you can engage the master himself in conversation. I good spot to start your night and then head out for dinner.

This place hands down has the appearance of a big operation, but feels like your hometown bar. The bartender felt down to earth, and all of the customers did too. It felt like a no rush atmosphere and just wanted everyone to enjoy their time. I chose to do the tasting as I've never been here, but the drinks I seen around looked very tasty. I found a few whiskeys I did like, even one I have to look forward to when it bottles.

What an incredible distillery, we had such an amazing time. We got there early and was given a very nice flight with the owner and he was very personable. Also very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this distillery

This is a great local joint offering whiskeys they distill in house. They offer tastings and cocktails. We opted to skip the tasting and go direct to the draft cocktails of a margarita made with habanero whiskey and a "rum" Punch variant. Both were very good. The venue is essentially a corner of their distilling warehouse so when you walk in you get an amazing aroma and also no a/c. It's a fun location but I imagine as Florida temps rise it could get unbearable indoors. I give it 4 stars for no a/c and small drinks for $11 each. They are delicious but small glasses and mostly ice.

I went here with my friends on their monthly burlesque show night. I believe it's the first Friday evening of each month. We went early for tastings that included honey whiskey, honey jalapeño whiskey, tropical flavor whiskey, a relative of Sly Stallone's whiskey, and a couple more. It was fun to give them a try and determine our favorites. The show was fun to watch and preached body positivity. I would definitely go back!!

I finally made it in before they closed. I am really happy I did. All the whiskeys were really good. Typically some are not that great but these were all awesome. Do yourself a favor & check them out. I will 100% be back. Thank you so much Ian for letting me in10 mins before you closed.

This place is open from 2-7 Thursday through Sunday. They sell 5-7 different whiskeys made and aged in house. They will let you taste and they also make cocktails with their whiskey.

Day spent in Riverside and we saw a sign outside of RAM advertising this wonderful local gem. All of their whiskeys are delicious, but the honey had us hooked! John really enjoyed the honey- jalapeno too. Ian was our whiskey guide extraordinaire and this is literally a 2 man show! They play with various recipes, come up with great cocktails and delicious spirits, hand bottle and hand label all in house. Occasionally I will buy local at Total Wine- but this one is too close to home, when I run low, I will run over for restocking! They also introduce new cocktails weekly (usually) and I might find an excuse to go back next week! My excuse is I need to try the new cocktails ;)

The combination of imaginative cocktails, exceptional food, and a unique atmosphere makes every visit memorable. The cocktail program is outstanding. We enjoy trying a variety of their exotic and inventive drinks, and they never disappoint. The flavors are bold, creative, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical restaurant bar. The Yellow Submarine cocktail is quite possibly the best drink I have ever consumed. Made with curry-infused Bermuda black rum, lime, ginger, and Asian five-spice brown sugar syrup, it sounded unusual on paper but came together beautifully. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered four of them that evening, something I rarely do. That was three years ago, and despite returning several times since then, I have never seen it on the menu again. The food is equally impressive. Two years ago, I ordered the Skillet Roasted New York Strip served with Yukon Gold potato-anna, roasted asparagus and spring onions, watercress, and black truffle hollandaise. To this day, it remains one of the top five restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Every component on the plate was exceptional. The steak was perfectly prepared, the crispy potato galette was irresistible, and the black truffle hollandaise elevated the entire dish to another level. It was the kind of meal that stays with you long after the plate is cleared. I would gladly drive 300 miles just to eat it again. Most recently, I had the wild mushroom bisque, and it was the best soup I have ever consumed. Rich, creamy, buttery, intensely mushroomy, and perfectly balanced, it was everything a mushroom soup should be. The addition of crispy pickled onions and crème fraîche added texture and contrast that made an already outstanding soup even better. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we returned the very next day hoping to order it again, only to discover it had already rotated off the menu. My only complaint about The Ice Plant is that some of their greatest creations seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive. While I appreciate the constantly evolving menu and understand that seasonal changes are part of what makes the restaurant special, there are certain items that deserve a permanent home. The Yellow Submarine cocktail, the wild mushroom bisque, and the Skillet Roasted New York Strip with black truffle hollandaise are three of the finest things I have experienced there. The fact that I can vividly remember one of these items from three years ago and another from two years ago says everything. Great restaurants serve good food. Truly special restaurants create dishes and drinks that stay with you for years. The Ice Plant has done that for me more than once, and that is why we continue to return whenever we visit St. Augustine.

Antique, rustic, comfortable, and full of enough character that you almost feel like you've stepped 200 years back in time. Then the drinks arrive, and suddenly you realize you've been transported into the future of cocktails. I wish I could remember the name of the drink I ordered because it was spectacular. Whiskey, a little sweetness, mint, and crushed ice. That's about all I can tell you. What I can tell you is that I could have happily consumed about 30 of them, tumbled down the stairs, and been perfectly happy about the whole experience. My wife went with the Mojito, and it was brilliantly constructed. The crushed ice and layered mint made it look almost too good to drink. Almost. The drinks absolutely deserve five stars. Then came the blue crab beignets, and they were spectacular. That's the kind of appetizer that makes you stop talking for a minute because everyone at the table is too busy enjoying what's happening. Unfortunately, the rest of the food didn't quite live up to the cocktails. The fish dip was very average and lacked much flavor, and the menu itself felt pretty limited. So here's the deal: if you're coming to The Ice Plant for drinks, I would have no problem giving it five stars. The cocktails are that good. This is a highly recommended stop for a drink in St. Augustine. But I have to review the entire experience, and the limited menu and average fish dip bring the overall experience down a notch. Four stars. Come for the drinks. Stay for the atmosphere. Definitely order the blue crab beignets. And if you happen to find yourself three cocktails deep, admiring the antique decor while contemplating the stairs, maybe just take your time.

Each time we've visited we have had wonderful experiences. Everyone is always a joy to interact with. Lexi had a large group during our first visit and then just the two of us the second time. Both times we walked out with our favorite spirits and some new ones. The peanut butter whiskey is always a staple and this one is my favorite. We now have a new addition to our must-have collection, mango datil whiskey. I dont even mix these with anything as they are incredibly smooth. Can you? Sure. But why? The spirits also change out and I'm a little sad that the cookie dough whiskey will become seasonal (that one did mix well with the peanut butter and caramel). But the new key lime pie rum was delicious and the coconut rum is another favorite. Was there anything we didn't like? I am not a fan of the roasted pecan whiskey but I can appreciate why others will enjoy it. In our tasting, Lexi swapped that one out for me so I didn't miss out. The care and joy the team has is palpable and a must stop when visiting the St Augustine area. Big fan and we now stop by multiple times each visit to sample and take home our favorites. Im excited to try the new rye whiskey on a future visit. One thing to keep in mind is that the tasting used to be free and now costs $5. Personally, I don't mind since there is a $5 coupon to use in the store that can be stacked so it becomes essentially free but it's a relatively recent change (the same applies to the nearby St Augustine Distillery and San Sebastian Winery). Do I wish that this one was still free? Of course. Will it stop me from visiting? Nope. It just breaks up my purchases so I can apply the cost each time. (And it's much better than the winery which gives you a plastic cup...nice but not really repeatable.) Overall, City Gate continues to be my favorite Distillery for flavored spirits. Thanks for always providing a great experience and product! And thank you to Lexi for being awesome!

We stopped in unexpectedly, signed in without any trouble, and were done in under a half hour. It helped that it wasn't crowded at all and our group of 5 were the only ones on the tasting tour at the time. You get to taste 4 different cocktails made with their various products. The first two were decent, with the second being a step up from the first. The third was our favorite by far, a tiki rum cocktail that actually had a really nice flavor to it. The fourth and final one was a straight vodka pour from an older woman at the last station. She told us that good vodka shouldn't taste like nail polish, which is a bold thing to say right before handing someone a sample that tasted pretty much exactly like acetone. A couple of us couldn't even finish it. The staff overall were super friendly though, and it was genuinely cool getting to go behind the scenes and see all the big machinery in the distillery. Now the gift shop at the end is a different story. Everything was overpriced, and their clearance section was almost insulting, with maybe $2 knocked off the regular prices. We won't be buying any of their products, but for $5 the tasting itself was a fun little experience worth checking out if you're in the area.
