This is a small discount grocery store with most off-brand items. It's not generally very crowded,…read moreso it's easy to move around. It's clean and organized with friendly employees. Since it is small, you won't find all of your grocery items here... at least I surely can't find all of mine. I mostly use the Save-A-Lot stores to pick up canned food items because they tend to be cheaper than other grocery stores (even Walmart). It's also a convenient place to stop if I'm only needing staples like milk, eggs, and bread. I'm not really one to purchase off-brand items very often, so I don't really get anything else from here. No, I'm not snooty, I'm just use to buying certain brand items and I don't like change. It's my OCDness. :D Make sure to bring your own shopping bags because they don't furnish them for free here. Sometimes they will have some boxes at the front you can use, but often they are out of them. They do have bags, but they charge for them. I think the plastic bags are only like .03 cents each, but I keep reusable bags in my car anyway, so it's never an issue.

They have only three beers on tap, but a decent selection of bottled and canned beers available. Large selection of wine, and liquor. They even offer to cork the bottle of wine if you choose to purchase a bottle, but not finish it, to take home. We sat at the bar and had a couple drinks. My wife ordered some kind of bread with a garlic dip, maybe. I don't recall exactly but it was good. Bartenders were cool and the vibe was chill. It was kind of dead when we were there. Riverside was certainly busy, because the dart bar next door was shoulder to shoulder when we left this place. This is a cool spot to grab a drink and talk amongst each other, as other bars in the area tend to be very loud. As for the liquor store itself. There seems to be a decent selection of liquor, and wine. They host the annual wine fest which is worth checking out if you haven't been. Make sure to pick those tickets up in advance, as it does sell out on the day of.

Thus, it would appeal to both budget conscious customers and also customers looking for a very special wine. The wines are organized by country and it's nice to see plenty of wines from so many countries. There is a detailed description for each wine, which enhances the buying experience. If you are fortunate to enjoy their Friday night wine tasting event, you can sample 6 different wines (3 whites and 3 reds) for $10. Bernie hosts the tastings and is happy to share his extensive knowledge of the wines. There are a couple of cheese pairings from Grater Goods next store (a fabulous cheese store worthy of its own review). I've enjoyed the wine tasting a few times now and never leave empty handed.
