This spot is unassuming but dang was it so good! Most of what we ordered was from specials menu but everything was amazing. To start with got blackened scallops, hush puppies and a cup of corn and crab chowder. The chowder was dynamite, probably the best I've ever had. The scallops were cooked perfectly with the right amount of spice. The hush puppies were fluffy and crunchy. Meals wise I got the crawfish boil and my husband got the bison burger with coleslaw. My husband loved his burger and said the onion jam was really nice. The crawfish boil is no joke and has a little bit of a kick but it was so good! I don't know what the sauce is it came with but I really enjoyed it. And because we didn't already eat enough we finished by getting the pina colada cheesecake that was delectable. They run a really efficient operation for how small they are and it's really impressive. We will definitely make a trip back here. read more

She made the experience even better! I've been on a personal quest to find the best chicken tenders on the island (my ultimate comfort food), and Kayla completely sold me on theirs--and trust me, I don't like to be sold, but I love to buy! Ha! The tenders were perfectly crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. I was on the fence about the fries, but they arrived hot, crispy, and seasoned just right. No regrets! First time eating at the new location. This was our go to place before they moved. Strike 1, the tiny table we had was not big enough and very cramped to nearby tables. Strike 2, my wife's order, spinach salad with salmon which she had numerous times before, was served with a substitute ingredient which she is allergic to. We were not told about the substition. My steak was underdone. Almost strike 3, the prices have gone up, to be expected with the new location but still higher than expected. The place was very busy and a little chaotic, which hopefully improves in time. We will give it a try again but it will be a while. read more

A favorite little restaurant to eat outside near the water on Amelia Island near the marina. Good seafood and southern cooking with a touch of Cajun/Creole. Tonight I got the catfish with crayfish etouffe which was delicious and filling. My wife got a cup of corn and crab soup to start and a bison burger which she enjoyed. New location is gorgeous and service is excellent. Menu is fairly routine and predictable. Advise to NOT order the fried zucchini starter. Soggy strips of zucchini left a lot to be desired. They needed to be salted, drained and dried before breading and frying. Crab cakes were uninspiring and presentation was bland. This time, Chef chooses one of the best locations and historic buildings in Downtown Fernandina Beach, with parking! Yes, the entrance offers a lovely courtyard with seating! Walking into the historic home...a large, indoor saloon-type bar area on the right side greets you upon arrival. A wonderful array of dining rooms and seating invites your attendance to the left. The food is exactly what you would expect on all levels, served with an experienced server with a smile, doing everything to make your visit memorable! Shimp and Grits, collard greens, sold! This classic, old-world Florida estate also has a beautiful "special event" room which can hold up to 40 guests plus! Did we mention there is also a smaller, intimate, bright sunroom and a private dining area? This intimate, large, windowed, elegant room comfortably holds 14 guests. Yes, we could go on, but all we can see is...finally! Fernandina Beach, old town, is now better than ever, now that we have Kitchen 251. Great views of the harbor and tasty, flavorful food with excellent service. Stopped for lunch on a Friday and they were busy, but there were a few open seats. We got in our orders and the food came out quickly. I got the Bison Burger- one of the daily specials. It was very good, with seeded jalapeños on the side and a tasty bacon jam. The potato salad was a mustard-style and good. My wife got the soup of the day-White Bean Chili. It had a good, lasting kick, and was very good as well. We saw a number of people getting the Salmon Salad, a large mix of greens and veggies, with a huge piece of fish and a red velvet looking muffin. It apparently comes in full and half-size portions. If you didn't know it was there you'd would never find it. At the marina just before going over the bridge to Yule. We haven't been here for a few years, what with , COVID, work and such. Fresh fish basket and a cider two sides, and the spouse went for crab cakes, corn and crab soup, 1/2 lb of peal and eat shrimp. I should have asked what the cost for the catch of the day was , even though it was pretty good. As was the rest of the meal. ( I don't understand why the south thinks Mac and cheese is so good I've tried several places and am not impressed. Any how we were happy with the meal until the bill $ 70 for a quick lunch. Second most expensive this trip. Yikes. We will probably return but will ask more questions and be a bit picky on what we order. read more

I bought a grilled fish basket with two sides, no drink (labeled mkt price) and came out to $35 with a $4 tip. The fish fillet are average is size. I do not think the basket was worth $30+.
