Literally a bunch of hustlers. I got. Groupon for their services back in December. I called to schedule and told the guy I had a 4 hour coupon. First thing he said I should have gone through him and he would have given me a better service for the same price. If thats the case, then why didn't you!? I unfortunately couldnt make a good time work for both of us, so I waited until today. His 2 workers come in, look through the place and walked down to "get their supplies". As soon as they leave he calls and says my place is too dirty to do in that time and wouldn't be able to do it. He said he cant take my coupon for that and that I would have to pay extra money for his team to clean and I couldnt use the coupon. I was being too nice and said, ok, then kist do the kitchen and Bathroom. He said he couldnt. Literally a joke.... my place is not bad at all. He just wants to deny the coupon and try to up charge. Dont waste your time and money. Go to an honest working professional. They used to be my regular cleaning people. Unfortunately they have a weird rule about "working man hours" The last time I used them I paid extra for a deep cleaning and I have a small 1,200 condo. They said they include the refrigerator and window etc in this. That was never done, when I asked them about it they argued that they ran out of time and would do it next time. The next time rolled around and it still wasn't done. I asked about it and I was text back with very argumentative texts. So sad I have to leave a review below 5 stars :( We were very excited to get our place cleaned with Marlene's services. We requested a quote for our apartment and got a decent price quote. The first red flag was that the receptionist said they would have two people out for the cleaning service, but we only gone one. We discussed cleaning the kitchen, living room, restroom and vacuum one bedroom. We left the counters clear and stove cleaned. We expected a simple sanitizing of the counters and sweep and mop of the floors. When I returned from work, I went to take a look at the kitchen and saw that the counters were not even wiped down. I ran my fingers across the counter and got dust, hair, and crumbs. She did sweep and mop, but went around the bar cart, which was the only piece of furniture in the room besides the small dining table. Even with a regular clean, everyone has always taken the time to move our small cart and sweep/mop underneath. It was very disappointing that the basics were not done. Also, the restroom tub and sink were cleaned well, but she did not clean or mop the floor. The floor still had dust and was not touched at all. The only thing we had done in the bedroom is vacuuming, making the bed, and dusting our dresser. I was very hopeful to find a cleaning service that we could have once a month. It was not a 3 hour service that we paid for. I do not plan on hiring them for cleaning services again. The great reviews are what got our attention, so I am hopeful that this was just an off day for the employee they sent and does not represent their usual work. read more

Just went with a deep cleaning for my house and Paul and Ashley arrived on time, masked up, and got right to work. It was my first time ever having anyone clean my house other than myself. These guys go through each nook and cranny of your house and find your dirt and eliminate it. Do it at least once to experience it! Well worth the money!!! Your house will love you for it! Never responded to my request for an appointment despite already paying for the service through Groupon

Perhaps I am naive in my understanding of what a "deep cleaning" involves, but my past experience with cleaning services and housekeepers makes me think I just received poor service from Marlene's. I became aware of them via Groupon and purchased the 4-hour regular service. Upon discussion with Ashley however, she told me there would be an additional $20 fee for them to bring supplies, and if I wanted more of a deep clean, it would be better if I just returned the Groupon and go directly through them. I was quoted a price of two "man hours" of deep cleaning for $130. This seemed reasonable, and I figured that would be enough time for any two persons to get through the items on my list. I just bought the condo and painted and sanded, and it is completely empty of any furniture and is only 650 sqft. So here is my list: Clean three ceiling fans. Clean out 8 kitchen cabinets (there was food debris in 4 of the cabinets from the previous owner). Clean underneath, interior and exterior of stove Clean interior/exterior of an empty fridge Clean bathroom Clean 2 windows and a sliding glass door Dust, sweep and mop So, come the day, Ashley shows up with two helpers and says because there are 3 of them, they will only be able to stay an hour and 20 minutes. I give her my list and say that doesn't seem like much time to do a deep clean (which, by the way Paul the owner or manager guy forgot was what I'd requested when confirming the appointment), and Ashley said yes it might take longer, but if it did, they would just call Paul to come help. I thought this was odd, because my experience with house cleaning in the past is that, upon arrival, they will assess how long they think a job will take, ask the customer if they are willing to pay for the extra time if necessary, and then they stay until the job is completed. Not so with Marlene's cleaners. Ashley said they couldn't stay past the hour and 20 minutes because they had another job after mine. So the crew get started. I'm outside on my patio working from home. I see Ashley attempting to clean one of the fans, but she's not doing the top of the blades or the center. Because it's "shaky". So I explain that some ceiling fans have a ball and socket to prevent them from wobbling when they are in motion, but that it wasn't going to fall. So then she started to properly clean the fan. I go in to check how the other workers were doing because there was a lot of chatter and I wanted to make sure there weren't any issues. The person in the kitchen was wiping down the cabinet exteriors. Person in the bathroom cleaning the bathtub. Flash forward to an hour and 20 minutes later and they're not done, but now they are rushing. The person who cleaned the bathroom spent 15 minutes gathering supplies and then disappearing. The other lady was standing in the kitchen wiping the same cabinet. Ashley was in a closet cleaning (even though that wasn't on my list) and hadn't even gotten to the third fan. Another 15 minutes goes by. Ashley gets a call from Paul and all I hear is her saying "yes yes we are leaving now. Yes it took longer. Ok bye." Ashley says "okay look around and let me know what's left. I'll do the third fan but before I mop are there any other things?" I go to the fridge and open the freezer. Not clean. Fridge part is clean.. I look at the lady who was supposed to clean the kitchen and she looked somewhat sheepish and said "oh" And then proceeded to clean it a little. I checked inside one of the cupboards and it was clean. Once they were done mopping, Ashley said they needed to go but check one more time. It wasn't great, not what I would expect of a deep clean, but they did end up staying two hours. AND THEN charged me an additional $65 because there were three instead of two helpers! But you know what? I tipped generously because I give people the benefit of the doubt most of the time, and try to be kind to service persons. They left that day with $240 cash. You know what I found after they left? Take a look at the pictures. Does that look clean to you? I sent the pictures to Paul. He said the only thing he could offer would be to come finish the job the next day. You know what Paul? If I am paying for something to be done on a certain day at a certain time, that's when the job needs to be done. I cannot rearrange my schedule because your team does a horrible job in the first place!! Long story short - I've learned my lesson. read more

On Thursday, February 23, 2023 I bought a Groupon for 6-man hour cleaning. I called and texted to make an appointment. As a result, I finally received a response from someone name Paul. He asked me through text with many questions like square foot of the house, when was the last time I had professionally done. He also said the Groupon cleaning was only for maintenance cleaning, not a deep cleaning. Therefore he suggest that I need to purchase additional Groupon for deep cleaning. This was the first time for me where I have been asked with many questions regarding house cleaning. Pablo also suggested that I pay directly to him because it's cheaper than buying through Groupon. I then cancelled my Groupon purchase and will pay directly to his company. He said he has availability the next day which is Friday, 2/24 approximately 8-9am. On Friday, February 24, he arrived approximately 10:40am. He looked inside the house and said it would take 8 hours to detail cleaning. He also mention that there will be one person coming to help him cleaning. I agreed and will pay for 8 hours of cleaning and left the house. Approximately at 12:39pm, Paul called and said it would take 10 hours to clean instead of 8 hours cleaning. I responded to him that it is unprofessional of him telling me it would only take 8 hours to clean and now telling me require 10 hours of cleaning. Therefore he agree to charge only 8 hours. Approximately at 4:28pm, Paul texted me and said it's already done and needs full payment. I then Zelle him in full of 8 hours of cleaning. As a result of my inspection, kitchen countertop, kitchen sink, entire floor, 4 bedrooms, toilets, hallway closets have not been cleaned at all. All of the debris and dust are still intact! I am a leasing manager and real estate broker for over 25 years. I own a property management company and currently managing many properties for our clients in southern California. I am also busy with my work and do not have time to write reviews. However, this is an honest review that I must write to inform our consumers not to be trapped with this unprofessional cleaning service in Groupon. Today was the first day I had the opportunity to have Marlene's Maids clean my home and I am very pleased ! There was a fine coat of dust on everything --especially the blinds --from the recent winds. Dulce did a beautiful job of cleaning these blinds. Martha did a terrific job in my kitchen. I will scheduling bi-weekly sessions with Marlene's Maids. Also, to note, I was able to reach Marlene and Paul by telephone & text -- great communication is crucial. From bouncing between Tidy and other cleaning services, my roomates and I finally found our home cleaning service. Extremely affordable prices and they give excellent attention to detail. We haven't gotten our house cleaned in nearly 3 months , but these guys were up for the challenge. No moremonth -long stains on our microwave , stove , toilet (sorry) and the shower. The other services weren't able to get rid of them, but Marlene and the team did. We also have a giant dog that rolls around in dirt and dirties the floor. BUYER BEWARE! I hired Marlenes cleaning service off of Groupon for a move out clean. The team showed up an hour late, I showed them the checklist, and Paul said that they charged extra to clean windows but that the rest of the checklist would be no problem. They texted me that they were done, and so I paid them (stupidly) without checking their work. They did nothing. None of the checklist was done. I had to pay the full cleaning fee to my apartment, because not even part of the list was completed. I've texted and called explaining the situation and they will not give me a refund. They did offer to come back next week and attempt to clean it again but my lease is already up and I'm not sure they're capable of doing the job anyways. So upon reading the MANY reviews after I scheduled services with them, I will be completely honest... yes they might show up late and yes they might be rush to finish but at the end of the day, they did a FANTASTIC job. Paul is very communicative, and will constantly keep you updated on their punctuality. I originally found them on Groupon but called them to see if I should pay them directly (as I do with a lot of small businesses) and did so just that. This was my second time using them and this time I've even more happy than the first, despite them being 2 hours late and leaving at the 1.5 hour mark. (Paid for the 4 man hour service but they sent 3 ladies) and I'll tell you why. I've lived in my apartment for 8 years and we have a terrible mold situation in the shower. For 7 years now, I've tried several house cleaning services to try and remove it to their best capability and out of the dozen services I've received this was the FIRST time I've been to see my shower clean! I was so impressed that the other minor punctuality issue it nothing compared to the results I got. I will be requesting Dulce and her crew from now on. I really wanted to give Marlene's Cleaning Service a 5-star rating. The house looked clean at first, but after doing a walkthrough there was a lot of dirty and unfinished cleaning. The bathroom was still very dirty with tons of thick dust and dirt, and cobwebs still covered the walls. The kitchen floor looked like it was never even touched. In the main bedroom, cobwebs covered every corner of the room. Marlene was the only saving grace from this review being a 1 star. She was extremely nice and hard working. Maybe if she had someone help her, the house would have been properly cleaned. When paying $165 (tip included), I was expecting a much cleaner house. Paul, one of the employees did reach out to me to apologize, and even offered to come back for an hour to finish the job but at this point, if the job wasn't done correctly to begin with, why would want the same company coming back? All three girls wore a mask and were very thourough with the cleaning. Marlene walked me around the first time and asked what we needed done specifically, and got a lot done in the short 2 hours.
