A few days after returning home, I re-read the contract only to realize I had been cheated by the salesman. We actually paid over $3,000 more than what he had verbally promised. I then decided to buy out the car at the end of the lease and never deal with that salesman again.Last month, during the buyout process, I encountered a similar issue with their finance manager. During our first meeting, she calculated the total amount I owed (which already included the vehicle ownership transfer fee). She asked me to get the safety certificate done myself and bring it along with a bank draft to our second meeting. At the second meeting, I brought both items, as well as my lease agreement. I showed her that the contract clearly stated the dealership was responsible for the safety certificate, even though she had made me pay for it out of pocket. She said, 'I can deduct this cost for you, but you've already brought the bank draft today.' I replied, 'No problem, I can go back to the bank and get a new one.'Then, as she was rewriting the price for me, she said, 'In that case, you have to pay a $30 ownership fee.' I said, 'Didn't you forget that you already told me this fee was included earlier?' They really try to scam you out of every penny they can. Where is the professional ethics of a reputable dealership?"

At pickup, the hood wouldn't open, despite their earlier promise to fix it. They charged a certification fee. Within a week, a "drive train malfunction" warning appeared. They kept the car for repairs from September 15th to the 19th. Though claimed they fixed the hood, they wouldn't specify what caused the drivetrain issue but assured its resolution. Four days later, the malfunction warning returned. Despite my concerns, the staff redirected me to their mechanic and hinted at retaliation when I expressed doubts about his honesty. All I want is a proper repair before my warranty ends and an independent inspection The Mechanic informed me that Mortoland never fixed the Hood because the cable they claimed to have replaced was not. Be careful with this place.

Good for car purchases, bad for car service…read more Summer 2024 I was looking for a 2024 RAV4 LE AWD, and since I live close to this dealership it was actually my first stop, but they had did not have any, actually to purchase a NEW RAV4 it would be a wait period of 6+ months. After going to all nearby car Toyota's it was the same. Thus I started looking for used RAV4s, but most were really old or had alot of mileage I ended up back here and the stars aligned for a single 2024 RAV4 being in stock, less than 10,000km btw which I was able to secure by immediately showing up and putting down a deposit. Apparently 9+ people had booked appointments to view it later that day but since I was first and was willing to pay the deposit/hold, it was mine! Within a few days after clearing things with the ownership, pink slips, insurance etc I paid the full amount and the nicely newly detailed car was mine! So as for the actual purchase, Markville did a great job. Here's where they get dinged for service. I specifically asked (purchase completed July 2024) if they had any deals for winter tires as in a few months I would need them. I was told, to just come back in a few months, find any set of tires and get a cost sheet, and Markville would match that price. Additionally, as this was a used car, there was a profile on Apple Carplay of the previous owner's iPhone setup. This is a huge issue for used Toyota owners - you cannot delete the previous user's profile and additionally you can't add/create your own profile until this is done. I saw online a very easy fix and even emailed it to the selling agent, basically only Toyota employees have access to their internal Toyota system where by inputting the VIN, they can remove the profile of the previous owner. I showed up in person, emailed, and called countless times over THREE MONTHS and no one at Markville Toyota would help with the Apple CarPlay previous owner profile situation. I couldn't even configure my new settings until this was done. This included not just the selling agent, but showing up at the front desk asking any agent for help, and the owner of Markville Toyota Jack Varisco emailing me after the purchase saying something along the lines of 'congrats on your car purchase. if you have any issues please let me know.' I even emailed him with the issue a few times and zero response. I also tried contacting the person who upsold me on additional bells/whistles, but no help there either. Then when October rolls around and I need new tires, and they're able to get more money in their pockets suddenly they can help with the carplay issue. Note - I specifically explained I was willing to buy 4 new winter tires but wouldn't spend a dime until the previous user profile was deleted. Suddenly, in less than 24 hours it was deleted. Then, as per instructed when I bought the car, I brought an invoice from a tire shop for 4 new winter tires. It as basically as follows: 4 new tires (exact brand and model as Markville toyota sold) 4 new rims (can't match as Toyota sells Toyota brand rims no other shop can sell) Installation (free if purchased from the tire shop). Despite advertisements that they price match winter tires, and the tire shop was willing to accept email and calls confirming their offer, Markville refused to price match. Fortunately, a nearby Toyota dealership was more than willing to pricematch the offer. With anyone who purchases winter tires, you know that between 50-100km after installation you should get the tires retorqued. The other Toyota dealership said I could go back to any Toyota and they'd retorque the tires for free. As Markville was the closest, I went here to get the tires retorqued (this is literally just tightening the lug nuts and takes less than 5 minutes). Markville, despite confirming I was an existing customer wanted to charge me ~$100 so I drove to the next Toyota dealership that did this for free.

In late December 2025, I went to DVN Hyundai to get a new car. During the initial sales meeting…read morewith my sales advisor, Hanan Laccheb, everything was pretty normal, and we closed the deal. So far so good. My wife and I asked her whether the tires from my previous car would fit the Hyundai. She said yes. We wanted to make sure that it's a firm yes, and not a "I'll say anything to close the sale, even if it's not true." So she called one of her colleagues from the service department, to make sure, and he confirmed that the tires will indeed fit. Perfect. A few days later, she calls and says that the tires will fit, but the rims won't. A bit deceptive, but I can give her the benefit of the doubt. She then dropped a giant pile of work for me: 1. Go to my previous dealer to get my all-season tires. 2. Take those tires to Canadian Tire to get new rims 3. Take the all-season tires back to my previous dealer for storage, since I couldn't drive on them, as it was still winter. 4. In the spring, drive back to my previous dealer, to pick up the all-season tires. 5. Bring those all-season tires to Hyundai for replacement. I wasn't exactly amused to have this giant project, driving all over the city, and spending additional money that I wasn't planning on. A few days later, she messages me again, now saying that the tires won't fit, either - after telling me repeatedly that they will, and even checking with the service department. And I have it all in text. I reached out to the service manager to get this rectified, and he "kindly" told me that he'd get me additional winter tires and rims that fit for $825. But that would be added to my lease. So the original deal that I got with Hanan was a lot less sweet after that addition. Was it pure incompetence on Hanan's part, or deliberate deception? I don't know, but neither one is good. After this experience, I'm not opposed to getting another Hyundai in the future, but I will never work with Hanan Laccheb as my salesperson again. UPDATE: After I originally posted this review, I got a response from DVN Hyundai, basically apologizing, and giving me an email to reach out to, to make things right. So I wondered - did they really mean it, or was it just a corporate PR strategy of "we'll respond to our negative reviews, so that other people looking at them can see. But we don't plan to actually follow through on anything. It's just optics." To test it, I actually emailed them. No response. I emailed them a second time, and got a response. It turns out that the company responding to these isn't DVN Hyundai, but Weins. They told me to email DVN Hyundai. I did. I didn't hear back. I followed up a week later, and still didn't hear back. So the conclusion is pretty clear: any response to negative reviews is really just a corporate PR strategy, without any substance behind it. I was already displeased with DVN Hyundai to begin with, and gave it a 1-star review. With this new experience, if I could give a minus 5-star review, I would.
