Disappointing and costly experience at Markham Honda - buyers be cautious I purchased a used 2019 Honda Civic Si from Markham Honda in March 2023. As a first-time car buyer, I chose this dealership because it was a certified Honda store, expecting professionalism and transparency. Unfortunately, my experience was anything but that. The finance manager I dealt with, Fiona Liu, seemed helpful and efficient during the process, but later I discovered two major issues: 1. I gave her $4,000 in cash as a down payment -- a decision I regret. It was never reflected in my financing, and no receipt was issued. 2. Without my knowledge, several costly protection packages were added to my loan. These included tire and rim coverage, rust proofing, and cosmetic damage protection -- totaling over $4,000. None of these were explained or offered to me explicitly. These hidden add-ons were only uncovered more than a year later when I reviewed my loan breakdown. When I returned to the dealership, I spoke to a senior sales manager, Wilson Chan, who admitted the finance manager had since been let go, and I was not the only customer affected. He said, "I believe what you're saying - and that's why she's no longer here." But the dealership declined any compensation, saying there was no documentation to act on. I'm sharing this not out of anger, but in hopes that it protects future buyers from blindly trusting the process, even at large brand-name dealers. I bought a Toyota from this location as the specific model was not available anywhere else. They offered a free service from the dealership, so I availed it for an oil-change. First of all, the dealership is 40 minutes drive from my home, so I booked the appointment online beforehand and they accepted it. I went there on the appointment time after driving for 40 minutes only to hear that my car is a Toyota, so they need to order the filter for it and it won't be delivered that day! Couldn't it be done when the appointment was made? On top of that, the service advisor said they won't be able to work on the car even if the filter is delivered that day as they are fully booked! Then why did they book my appointment on that day? So another 40 minute drive back home was the only way and booking another appointment with them. On the day of the 2nd appointment (another 40 minute drive one-way), I called their customer service department to make sure the filter was there. The support guy put me on hold for 10 minutes and just hung up the phone! How ridiculous! I had go through another 10 minutes call just to make sure it's gonna be there. The day after the oil-change I started seeing some oil marks at my parking place. But I didn't take it too seriously thinking it might be some spilled oil from the oil-change. But as the time passed by the drip didn't stop. I suspected they didn't screw in the drain plug properly and it kept getting loose with the vibration of the car. I called them to talk about an appointment and SUPRISE! They are fully booked! Great! But in addition to that, they are going to charge me $156 + tax to just take a look at it. A usual service department with a minimum level of decency would at least say that they'll take a look and cover it if it's their fault. Nope, not from this location. I have an immediate long drive this week and I had to fix it ASAP. So I took my car to the place I usually do all my services and they found out Markham Honda pushed 2 washer together and tightened the drain plug so hard that one of them bent and started leaking. How unprofessional can a service center for a renowned brand be that their mechanic can't do a very simple oil change properly? I usually change my car frequently and I told the salesperson that I might come back this year looking for another car. NEVER after this kind of service experience. read more

Really bad experience with William (one of the sales representatives). This happened a few months ago. He made us feel that we were inconveniencing him. Took us for a test drive in a Honda CRV in the manager's car, which smelled heavily of smoke. One of my family members had to leave the car. When we asked him, what to do if we had a flat tire, he said to call a tow truck! Didn't even know that the car had a tire inflation kit. The Honda CRV was #1 on my list, but the sales experience was so bad. We went to Don Valley North Hyundai and they treated us kindly and respectfully. Bought a Hyundai instead. We sold our 2021 Acura TLX Tech to this dealer and agreed to get the cheque on the day we dropped off the car. Car was fully appraised by them that day as well as a few weeks prior by their appraisal specialist. All paperwork was completed etc. and there is no dispute with the car itself. But now they are playing games with sending us the cheque, including threatening to "put it in the mail" just 48 hours prior to the mail strike. I have contacted Ali Naqvi countless times and each time there is a new excuse. There is no reason for any of this except that Ali just likes playing games and doesn't like to follow through on any promises he makes. I said they should courier to me and they invented a new fee for sending me a cheque that they promised me 2 weeks ago. I have no choice but to place a lien on the car. If you are looking at purchasing a blue 2021 Acura TLX from Markham Honda (they car they bought from us), you should be aware that there will likely be a lien (claim) put on it as a way to safeguard my interest. If you buy it, you will have to pay it out. So be very very careful. Furthermore, these despicable people tried to keep lowering the price we fully agreed to - until the bitter end. Luckily, none of them worked. But if you are thinking of them buying out your car, make sure that your last payment doesn't go through. They know when your payments are due and are hoping that you make it and then they will arrange for you to give up your car the next day. That payment you made is pure bonus money for them. You also don't have to pay for certification or brakes or anything else AFTER they have already inspected your car and provided you with a value. These despicable people try every trick to unfairly profit from unsuspecting good people. You should proceed with a great deal of caution when dealing with Markham Honda or any Dilawri circus. They are truly the bottom of the barrel and operate without integrity or ethics. My dealings with Ali Naqvi are the truly horrible. In April, I went to the dealership to test drive a used Kia Soul Turbo and trade-in my older Soul. I signed the agreement but feeling pressure, I asked for the weekend to think about it before signing the bill of sale. It never came but we proceeded. During the test drive, I was told there was "likely" nothing on the Carfax but then later, I saw a $2000 damage claim that the sales rep, Daniel, told me wasn't necessary to report anything under 3k to the buyer. I decided to go ahead with the purchase anyway because I had already put in time. Even when the car was erroneously registered in my name, despite requesting it in my business name, I changed my auto insurance from business to personal. Fast forward many weeks later, partly due to delays on my end with clearing licensing and getting insurance in place, which they stated was needed for the sale. Even when I asked for a list of everything that would be needed to complete the sale, surprises kept popping up and delaying the process (i.e. licensing not checked for months and then the amount suddenly sprung on me or a couple days before, telling me co-signer had to be there at pickup as well when he was out of town, or delaying 5 days after his return because service wasn't ready). Then, finally everything has been put in place, i.e. car insurance, pickup date arranged (almost a month in advance as Financial Services Manager, Ian, was on vacation). THE DAY OF PICKUP, months after signing the agreement, downpayment still with Honda Markham and despite frequent communication, I was notified that the car had been sold to an auction the month before and I'd have to do a new credit application to proceed...No apologies, empathy, remorse. Mind you, I was told not to repair my trade-in because it could affect the deal so I had been paying for rental cars), I've lost time, money, and a rare Kia Soul model because of Honda Markham. I turned down other deals thinking this was done. I'm partly glad the deal fell through because now I can go to an honest dealership that's willing to stand by the deals they made. Even when the online trade-in appraisal said guaranteed if in the same condition, they made repeatedly clear that the offer was subject to change and I had a feeling that when I brought my car in, they'd find every excuse to lowball me. Ian and Daniel are nice enough but this experience soured me and I suggest going elsewhere if you value transparency and reliability. TL;DR: Rang the gong, signed the agreement, made a downpayment, did a credit check application, car registered wrong, jumped through hoops for WEEKS to get deal ready, prepared for pickup, and then PICKUP DAY, I was told the car that I had a downpayment on had been sold to an auction. My experience as a first-time buyer here was nothing short of a nightmare, filled with stress, pressure, and unfair treatment. As I was on a Work Permit for five years, I purchased a new vehicle while my residency status was still under review with IRCC. Instead of receiving guidance or understanding, I was met with a complete lack of empathy from the sales team, particularly Pervaiz Gauhar, and the account manager, Danish Paracha. As a first-time buyer, I was coerced into purchasing a range of unnecessary third-party products, including Upper Body Rust Protection, Paint Protection, Undercoat, Interior Coverage, GAP Millennium, and an additional option that was never fully explained to me. They insisted that without agreeing to these extras, no bank would approve my financing, and only Honda Finance would, provided I bought into all these add-ons. The situation escalated into an absolute disaster when my residency application was denied, forcing me to leave the country on short notice. Despite all the third-party products I had been forced to buy, none--including GAP insurance--provided any assistance during my crisis. When I turned to the sales and account managers for help in either selling or transferring the vehicle, I was met with cold indifference. Instead of support, they demanded that I pay the entire amount for the car before leaving Canada, threatening to blacklist me and report me if I didn't comply. The pressure and threats left me in an impossible position. I had to scrape together the full amount for a six-month-old SUV and obtain a compliance letter before moving to the USA, all while feeling abandoned and deceived by the very team that sold me the vehicle. None of the insurance products I bought from them proved helpful in my time of need, The response from both sales and Finance team was not at all helpful who I worked with while buying car and I was left to deal with the financial burden on my own. In short, this was one of the most stressful and unfair experiences of my life. If you're considering buying from Markham Honda, please shop around and don't put blind trust in their sales staff--especially those I dealt with. My experience was beyond awful, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Local long time Honda owner (four Hondas since 1991 ends here. Took my 2008 Honda Pilot in for servicing requesting a valve adjustment. Honda service took apart the engine to access the valves, then called me to say they did not recommend adjusting the valves due to a scored cam shaft, put back together without any adjustment and billed me $571.78. Then gave me a quote for $3,892.00 for labour only to replace with a used engine (not including the cost of the used engine). I took the car to another mechanic, Triple A (O'K Auto) in Scarborough who highly recommended proceeding with a valve replacement (their mechanic John owned four Hondas), O'K Auto performed the valve adjustment work and charged less than Honda did simply to look at it. John could not understand why Markham Honda would not have proceeded with the valve adjustment when they had the engine open. Honda will not get another dollar from me. The sales advisor agreed to give include winter mats but forgot to write it on the agreement therefore the dealership refused to honour it even though the advisor acknowledged their mistake. 2. Have followed up for over a year and a half regarding a warranty claim on a headlight seal Still no resolution. I believe they purposefully dragged it out past the warranty claim period to avoid having to do anything. 3. Was offered a discount on an oil change by phone. I then later called back to book said oil change and had the discount confirmed by phone. I arrive to drop off the car they ask me for an email I never received to confirm the discount. Spoke to Robert through chat and booked me for a Saturday appointment at 2:30pm. Gave me the address and referred to Muhammad when I arrive. Saturday came in and showed up 30 minutes early for my appointment. Didn't went inside right away and waited for about 10 minutes before the appointment time. I saw the car that I wanted (Subaru Crosstrek) at the lot and checked out the car for a few minutes before coming in. Apparently Muhammad wasn't the one that I spoke with when I came in, they referred me to another guy (forgot his name but it was a younger Asian man) and ultimately said that the car was already sold to somebody else. IT WOULD BE NICE IF SOMEONE FROM THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOTIFY ANY POTENTIAL CUSTOMER BY TEXT, EMAIL OR PHONE SAYING THE CAR HAD ALREADY BEEN SOLD. Wasted my time. Came all the way from Hamilton for nothing. To add fuel to the fire, Robert did gave a follow up text how the test drive went. Gave a quick reply explaining how the car was already sold to someone when I showed up for my appointment time and THIS DUDE HAVE ZERO EMPATHY ON MY CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE. I've been in search of a replacement vehicle since March 2021 and am in no hurry since I have 3 brands in mind, a price point I'm willing to spend for a list of basics + wish list options, and finally a trade-in expectation. The basics are AWD, 4-Dr, 5 Pass, Auto, no more than 5 years old, good vehicle history (aka CarFax Report), reasonable mileage, good vehicle track record of repairs, crash survival and fair market price. Not too much as a base. Pile on the wish list extras like blind spot monitor, lane departure warning, Bluetooth, heated seats, leather seats, etc. You get the drift...Dear Santa! Sales & Leasing Consultant Nish Balasingam was given the assignment to find out my wants (...one specific vehicle on the lot of which I already did all the homework a few days ago and then I completed my own vehicle inspection of 10 known issues to look for onsite), the test drive (which ticked off all my expectation checkboxes), and then what I wanted for my trade-in. I was willing to pay the dealer asking price for the replacement vehicle but would not budge on my trade-in minimum must get since there is a sales tax savings for me off the final closing cost. In closing, Nish was very professional; 5 stars. It was Will, his Sales Manager that came out of the Bullpen as the would-be closer. Gave my parents a confusing and terrible vehicle buyout experience for their CRV. My parents are old folks who don't want to create an issue, but they were lied to and mistreated. General buyers need to be wary of this Honda dealership's lack of attention and untrustworthy work. Incompetent finance personnel made a mistake on our vehicle buyout's new ownership, using an entirely new plate number. We had ourselves to go back to the dealer to report this mistake. After a few days, they gave a BS answer about the new vehicle ownership using just my fathers name and thus needing a new plate number, unable to revert their mistake. If they needed to use a new plate number, I think having our consent to change it is an important principle! Even if I were to believe their reasoning, they did not provide us any communication and did not have our consent to change our plate number used for 20+ years. We were told it is what it is, there is no remediation for their mistake. There was ZERO empathy, accountability and communication during this ordeal. How can you trust this dealership anymore when they have staff that skip steps, probably took a short cut and takes actions without customer consent and agreement? This is not how you do business, and I would warn anyone thinking of coming to Markham Honda, to consider other options with more honest and competent staff. read more

To start, I want to say that I didn't end up buying a car. But here's how my experience was with test driving a car and communicating with a sales rep here. Just some background, everyone, was super friendly when coming in - especially the manager. Just a lot of warm welcomes and some nice vibes. So I'm currently shopping for a car and I've been interested in an Acura ILX. I saw that they had one in stock and initially called if they had flexibility in price. This was because I had a budget in mind and I did not want to waste anyone's time by driving 1hr there and taking up a sales reps time. I expressed this to them and after some talk they said they do. After texting, I told them that I'm really looking for $15k and they said they'll 'try' to get us there and it's 100% doable - as long as I don't request cosmetic repairs and I like the cars condition as it is. I make the appointment for 10am on a Thursday. I drive there from the west end, and as soon as it turns 10am, literally the minute, they text saying that he sold the car I came to see. This is just as I am pulling into the lot. So I'm just thinking at this point that this was just a tactic to get me to come here to see their inventory. They could have just texted earlier and have me turn around or before I left. Luckily, there was another ILX with the same specs, just a different colour. They were very nice and helpful when checking it out. I then took it out for a test drive and got back. I'm at the point where we sit down and he says that he can try to get me to the same price as the initial ILX I was interested in. So we do the formalities, they write their asking price then asks me to write my offer price. So of course I write down the $15k that I told them through text. Of course it is a pretty lowball offer on paper considering the asking price is $18k, asking -$3k is a huge long shot but my main point is that I already expressed this number. I completely understand why someone would be offended with this since the profit margin is probably already thin. So they say "that's a different offer than what you said to me, why are you pulling my leg here?" But like... I didn't make an offer, I said that I'm looking for around $15k and you said that you would try to get me there and it's 100% doable. You also didn't tell me you sold the car I was initially interested in and made me drive here for an hr. I also said that I have a budget and if it's far off from your price then I don't want to waste anyone's time. So who's pulling who's leg here? After they said that they probably won't be able to do any discounts since the car is in pretty high demand. Let's backtrack, this is the scenario I wanted to avoid LOL, the one where we wasted each other's time. That is why I expressed what number I was looking for. If there was little flexibility they should have just said that. Or say that the budget is not doable instead of acting shocked/offended when I say the exact same number I said through text. But of course, I understand they're salesmen and have to do anything to get your business. So I actually respect the hustle In short, I'll give 2/5 because a lot of blame falls on me for being pretty gullible, naive and straight up dumb LOL. In the end it's like any other business, cut throat salesmen who are trying to squeeze you. Moral of the story is you'll have to take everything they say with a pinch of salt... Or a handful. Service appointments take forever (they held my vehicle for 2 weeks to only change transmission fluid). Also, service was a scam. Complimentary charging stations that can't charge my phone. Tables at the waiting areas can use a clean up. Service advisor A.... was very friendly and kind. I waited 2.5 hr for an oil change and when I called and asked how much longer they told me 20 mins. Since it was 20 mins and I finished dinner I figured by the time I'm back at the dealership half the wait time would of been gone. Guess what my car sat there untouched when my advisor LIED to me when he told me they are working on it and it'd be 20 mins to completion. Arrived in front of the advisors desk and literally after 5 mins then my car was taken in for my oil change. Not sure if I had to wait till 8:30 to pick up my car so that's why my oil change was complimentary or if it's because it's my first oil change that's why it's a complimentary. But still I had to wait from 5:30-8:30 just for 1 oil change. Tell me if this is not ridiculous to you or not. Worst car buying experience of my life. The sales manager was very rude and not willing to share all the price breakdown unless I pay $1000 deposit. Felt undue pressure to sign the deal and the manager not wiling to negotiate on extras (over $2000 worth of items added which I did not want and sales person said that they will not sell the car without these charges). At the time of signing the deal I was promised that the car will be available within 4-6 weeks. After serval calls, I received a call from sales person that they ordered wrong car and now I have to wait for another 6 months which was not acceptable. I went to the manager office but no one was available to talk or even answering their phones. After a long wait, another sales person refunded by deposit with shallow regret. read more

My BOS said 49,000 in 7 years at 6.99%. Ridiculous. If you're a young woman like me they will try to take advantage of you because they think you're stupid. Do not share all your income with them. The AC was a known problem to the Honda brand. And Honda had the AC waranty extended. My 2018 civic had the impaired AC for 2 years and had changed the compressor and condenser multiples times and the AC was still leaking. Not until recently, Honda had found some leak and the tubing and the clutch behind the compressor. They said they will talk to Honda to see whether Honda will offer to cover the expensive clutch in order to have a Honda good will. I had waited for more than a week. The advisor promised to call me back on the situation and He never did even I left him messages and called him every day. Real bad service. read more

AND this is not the first time i wasted my time here. I tried to ordered a new car this summer and had all options decided. I told them i had an hour for them to do all the paperwork. I have been a Markham Honda customer for over 4 years, purchasing and servicing two personal vehicles here and referred two purchases by family members. In May 2019, I brought in my Honda Accord to put in my seasonal tires for the summer and was told an hour into the servicing appointment that they had crashed my car in their parking lot. I was told that the collision involved two of their service workers and I requested a copy of the video footage which clearly shows that one service worker was speeding through the parking lot and the service worker driving my vehicle was coming out of the parking spot too quickly/carelessly. Markham Honda repaired my vehicle by replacing my front bumper and some other parts. They provided a rental car but a repair process which we were initially told would be a couple of days ended up being a whole week. It was frustrating because they were aware that we were about to leave for a two week vacation and did not want to have our car left at the dealership while we were overseas. They failed to communicate any updates - we had to call them on multiple occasions during that week. This was issue #1 for us. We went to pick up the car a day before leaving for our vacation and basically were just given our keys with no further explanation. I asked to speak to a manager about the whole situation. I told Jerry, the Service Department manager, that we did not feel that Markham Honda was adequately addressing the customer service issues, inconvenience and depreciation in value in our vehicle. Jerry told us there was no depreciation in value in our vehicle because it was repaired with Honda parts. I told him the history of a collision on my vehicle would cause a depreciation. He told me there would be no record of it so it would not depreciate in value if I sold my car - implying that I should not advise any future buyer of the history of the collision. This was issue #2. Jerry spoke to us in a condescending manner and told us we should know what we wanted to ask for in compensation if we were going to raise these issues. I advised Jerry that we were not here to seek a jackpot - we were here to see if Markham Honda has even turned their minds to addressing the concerns we had. Clearly, Markham Honda did not care because we kept being told there was no depreciation in value in our vehicle. Jerry did acknowledge that his team could have done a better job communicating to us about the repairs. Jerry offered $300 in servicing credit and a car polish (why would we trust them to service our vehicle again...?). Jerry said there was no depreciation in value yet he refused to bring in his Sales Manager to corroborate that a history of a collision would not affect the value of a vehicle. This discussion was the day prior to our vacation and I had enough of Jerry's condescending and dismissive tone, so we left. Since the repairs, I noticed a blemished area on the "new" bumper they put on my car. I have left a voicemail for the dealership manager who has not responded. Honda Canada says they have no control over the actions of their dealerships, which I find unreasonable. This experience has left us with a very poor view of this dealership and of Honda in general. Honda Canada left their customer to fend for themselves against a dealership who clearly did not care. Not only did Markham Honda encourage us to not report the collision when we eventually sell our car, but they failed to address our concerns. I ordered a Honda Civic back February of 2022, with a plan to pay fully in cash with a certified cheque. At the time of order, I also placed an order for a set of winter tires. The salesperson who I had to deal with's name is Pervais. On the contract, the car delivery MAXIMUM date was set at sometime in May (they told me at the time it would be certainly earlier than that). I received no communication whatsoever from this dealership and my calls were ignored until they FINALLY had enough of my calls and agreed to give me the car IN JULY. At the time, I didn't think too much of it as I understood there were shortages all around the world. However, I had already moved 6 hours away from Toronto, so getting the car was inconvenient at best. To make matters worse, the tires I ALREADY PAID FOR were not available when I got there. They told me I would have to come back "later" to pick them up. After some back and forth, they agreed to deliver the tires to a dealership in Quebec as they are under the same management. Well, fast forward many months, now we are in the midst of snow storms AND I HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY TIRES. The salesperson Pervais has blocked me and has not answered nor returned my calls in months. The dealership picks up the phone and hangs up on me when as soon as they pick up, or will tell me a manager will call back who never does. Even Honda head office has now opened an investigation into this dealership. YOU NEED TO AVOID GIVING THE PEOPLE HERE YOUR MONEY AT ALL COSTS. I am having to drive under dangerous winter conditions. I have asked for a refund over and over again so that I could just buy winter tires elsewhere, however they are refusing to refund me. The only way I can describe the people I have dealt with her (especially Pervais and Danish) are that they are conmen and THIEVES. They WILL steal your money and will block you from getting it back. I have now had to resort to getting a lawyer in order to try and resolve this issue. I will try my best to warn people about this dealership as best I can. Please, at least make very careful consideration when deciding to do any sort of business with the criminals here. read more

Took my truck in for service and was paying the bill. Handed the cashier $100 cash and said to put the balance on debit. SHE HANDS ME BACK A $20!! I had given her 120 by mistake. I recently had my car camera replacement service done for my honda accord at this Honda location and the service was implacable. My main point of contact was Syed Abidi, a very nice and humble gentleman who helped me alot during the entire process. His work ethics and customer service is truly appreciated. Worse service ever my husband unfortunately purchased from Markham he should of stayed with my parkway dealership. do not go to honda in Markham choose another dealership. The service with recalled parts was deplorable. We had to fight to get a rental when they did not have parts. This vehicle was not fixed for over a month. in The meantime my husband was hospitalised with COVID-19 very sick. When I went to drop off Rental and asked to pay bill I had to wait for over an hour. Just day before they were demanding I bring in the rental as repairs were done however on giving over keys they had none of the bill for repairs done or the rental paperwork. read more

BUYER BEWARE. If you choose to lease your vehicle at markham honda, expect no transparency in terms of the numbers they present to you from their sales team. When they have drawn up the lease contract, double check to ENSURE that it is exactly what you discussed. They WILL lie to you, and they will play it off like it was no big deal if you catch them. They are well aware of what they are doing and the worst part is that you still have to pretend as if they didn't just try to screw you over. Remember it's not personal, it's just business. This Honda can't keep their words. Service way too slow, pass the time they tell you and they don't even notice you, keep you waiting, when you ask, they say wait for more time, recommend "extra service", they say they wash your car and then come out the car unwash. This is the worst one and I have been with total three Honda dealers, one is Ready Honda in Mississauga and the other is Roadsport Honda in Scarborough. Both the other two dealers have done their job in time, sometimes even earlier. I would never come back nor recommend anybody, never. read more

I called in Saturday morning and made an appointment for my first oil change. I was pleasantly surprised that they had any availability at all and I stopped by later that morning. The woman on the other line told me it'd take approx 1.5 hours and cost around $45. When I got to the dealership, I walked up to the service desk - they took my keys and invited me to the service waiting area which is stocked with coffee, donuts and muffins from Timmies and free WiFi. The service rep came up to me a little over an hour later and gave me a discount ($28 + tax) for a non-synthetic oil change, a tire inspection and a quick wash. Maybe it was because it was my first time there? The location is more convenient than our usual mechanic so I would consider coming here again. Can't speak to the quality of the oil change at all but the service was decent and there weren't any surprises! read more

Absolute worst experience year over year. Sadly management there has done nothing to address the situation after repeated feedback in writing. Would highly recommend steering away. They are never prepared for your service - every time we go they send us back and tell us they will rebook the appointment, tires or parts not in stock after repeated calls to confirm beforehand. Do not expect a shred of honesty from this Honda dealership. - They lied about not having the color of the car I wanted, and asked I pay extra for it - They lied about the payments, conflating monthly payments with bi-weekly payments - They will attempt to confuse you with numbers on the contract, hoping you do not catch it, so they can eat your deposit in any way possible - They will of course be as cryptic as possible about the actual cost of the lease guard and what kind of coverage it can provide Obviously buyer beware. In the end it's a business and it's trying to maximize, what can you really expect. But anyone who realizes they got done in is never coming back. I cannot recommend this dealership to any new/inexperienced buyers, you will 100% get shafted and the sales people are obviously skilled enough to know when they can do it without repercussion. Yes, customers don't understand what your bottom line is or what the margins are - but people shouldn't leave your dealership wondering if they should boycott or burn it down. read more

Very dishonest sales and financial advisors. Lacks transparency and therefor lacks customer service, satisfaction and trust. Watch for hidden fees that are not supposed to be there, that they remove to make you think they are giving you a good deal. Financial service manager, try's to get you into buying extras by lying about what you are really getting. And then does not explain anything you are signing. Go to Toyota. They explain everything you are getting, and signing and what to expect. Happy customers are customers who trust you and then recommended you based on that experience. I can see the 1.4 star rating here as accurate. Can not get ahold of anyone by phone. No one picks up. You have to go in to reach anyone :( read more

I posted this review on google but I will copy and paste it here as well since I really want people to know how bad my experience was with markham honda. Had the worst experience ever! So my fiancee and I booked a service appointment with them several months ago (it's been a long time and yes it's still a problem) to see what's wrong with my honda crv since the alarm was going on for no apparent reason. So we dropped off the car and the guy who took us (Jericho) said it would take the whole day. I was ok with that but we needed a car to run some errands. So, since they dont lend a car, we have to go to their collaborators Discount markham and rent a Mazda for the whole day. I paid about 57 dollars which was a choke deal since I was basically forced to buy the insurance they require. So whatever, at least we going to come back with a fixed car..at least that's what I was hoping for. So after around 6 hours and in mid afternoon, I got a call from them saying they couldn't do any work cause their work was "backed up". We are extremely angry at this! If you cant do work, then tell us so instead of having us go around renting an overpriced rate car with bogus insurance addons. So to this day, yes to even this day after well over maybe 3 months, I still haven't got my refund from them for the trouble of renting the car. Who's them? Yeah that's also a problem. I called markham honda And discount so many times now and they keep promising things that were lies i.e. you will get the refund within the week. Or the "operation manager" is on vacation, he only has the power to give refunds (this is discount), and I still havent gotten my 57 dollars for the rental. O wait, I called discount a week ago from today and they said they only can refund the car rental only and not the insurance that I was pressured to buy. Expect Horrible service if you're not Asian. Way over priced, especially used vehicles ($3-5000k above market). A lot of better Honda dealers in driving distance from this one (formula, roadsport, Whitby) A friend bought what they told him was a clean car, only to find out it had been in a bad accident after purchase. Never returning. The sales people here are the very slimy, sleaze ball type. Talk really fast, make empty promises and just want your signature on paper as fast as possible. Honda vehicles are good. However, you have to be very careful about the sales and the Financial Advisor here in this location! On July 27th, I came here to lease a CRV, Sales William Huang helped me. After the negotiation and I got a very good deal, so I paid a deposit of $500 to lease CRV, but it took a Financial Advisor 2 weeks to tell me how difficult it is to get the loan approved! Then I tried to lease Civic since it's much cheaper and it may help me to get the loan approved. I find another Financial Advisor Fiona Liu, but she strongly "suggested" that I should buy a $1800 Advance Lease Guard to lease a basic Civic! I said this is too much and I just need a basic lease guard, she said, "I don't have any profit this way, then your loan will not be approved." I didn't want to waste any more time so I signed the contract. On the next day, she called me, said "The loan is approved, , but an extra co-signer is needed, so you need to add more money." I was very angry and sense something fishy, so I said I need more time. After several days of consideration, I decided not to lease the vehicle here, but sales William Huang refused to refund my $500 deposit, saying "They are very angry". I find it really ridiculous. First, if there is a profit, the loan will be approved the next day, and if there is no profit, then it took them 2 weeks to tell you the loan would not be approved. Secondly, they ask the deposit first, then increase the price right after, If you are not happy with the price, you will lose your deposit. Being extremely despicable and unfair, is this how you treat your customer, Markham Honda? Shamed on you!
