There is a DJ booth and a sort of stage area with screens showing the lyrics. You put your name and song choice on paper slips and hand them to the DJ. The screens show the next 3 songs coming up. Also there's a white board where the DJ puts the next 15-20 names on the list so you know when you're going to sing. Our group got to sing about a half hour in which wasn't bad at all. The sound system is loud enough to be heard over the noise and sounds of the place itself so that is good. There is a pool table area in the back as well. Overall was a fun time singing here!

Here in Waltham, there is a new entry into the category: Burnt Edges. Located in the local Moose Lodge, Burnt Edges differentiates on its very unique product mix that features a range of sauces including Bacon Cheddar, Mango Habenero, Garlic, EVO, Buttermilk Ranch, Duffalo, Big Mac, Taco, Pterodactyl (!!??), and even Tomato. We usually try to order different entrees but we were both intrigued by the "Angry Sicilian" which is topped with hot capicola, pepperoni, prosciutto and a black garlic and whipped ricotta swirl. It is finished with a drizzle of hot honey that adds a unique twist to an already fabulous pizza. The pie is the perfect size and generously topped to the edges which results in a magnificent corona of burnt goodness. We have to stress that the white dots of black garlic and whipped ricotta is an incredible topping - a great counter punch to the spicy meats. Burnt Edges is a separate business located in the Waltham Moose Lodge. If you want a beverage you have to register as a "Lodge Guest" which is as simple as signing a "Guest Register." The Moose Lodge has a full bar and we sampled several of their bottled beers (no draft) as well as a Tanqueray and Tonic. Be aware that the bar is cash only so come prepared if you want a beverage. The owners of Burnt Edges are young and ambitious and they know how to serve a wonderful South Shore Bar Pizza. The menu is unique and dynamic as they push the outer edges of SSBP excellence. Not a bad place for a sub or pizza. Everything is just mediocre, nothing too special. Flavors in the pizza are a bit weak, i would like a richer flavor in their pizza sauce. Check it out if you're in the area, but like others have said, its a bit hard to find (hiding behind Paparazzi). read more

They don't occupy a particularly large space -it's dominated by an ordering station with a big menu board over it, and a small showcase for their highly rated pizzas. Why "highly rated"? Well, they scored a 7.9 rating on Barstool sports, just a scant .1 of a point from their 8.0's description of "exceptional and rare". But we weren't there for pizza, we wanted to pick up some subs for a few lunches on our weekend trip. They have 14 "cold" and 10 "hot" sandwiches, and the pricing structure really makes you a fool if you don't go big. Our Italian and Ham and Cheese subs were prices at $11.99 for small and $12.99 for a large, so you tell me what choice you would make? My large Italian sub easily provided a satisfying half for Friday lunch and a second half for Saturday lunch. It was an excellent sandwich with plenty of meat on a pillowy soft sesame breaded sub roll with lettuce, tomato, onions and vinegar, Have I had subs with more meat? Of course I have. But have I paid around $20 for comparably sized subs? Of course I have. So, was I happy for Gianni's value, considering quality, quantity, and price? One thousand percent YES. Service was friendly and we enjoyed our visit very much. Of Note Their parking lot is tiny, so it would be challenging to negotiate on a perfect weather day. It was a snowy mess when we visited, and the mounds of snow and sardine-like jam-up of cars made the lot a hard pass for us. We ended up parking in the big lot across the street, behind Blue On Highland and walked over.
