I have never eaten here but the first chance I get, I will. Why am I giving this restaurant 5 stars? We are from Austin and I took my wife to see Elton John at the Alamodome on Saturday night. It was the last time Elton John would play in Texas, ever, and the first time my wife would see her favorite performer. Unbeknownst to us, the Alamodome does not have enough parking for people who attend the events there. We arrived 45 minutes before and the entire area was packed full. If you go, you have to get there hours earlier or find parking around the event. The concert started at 8 and we found parking at 8:35, next to Mark's Outing. It would have taken us about 15-20 minutes to walk to the event meaning we would miss about an hour from start. Mark, the owner, said, " Jump in my truck, and I will take you". That was really a nice thing he did. We were able to attend the majority of the concert because Mark, the owner of Mark's Outing, gave two strangers a lift. It meant the world to my wife who got to see Elton John for the first and last time. We will make sure we get a burger at Mark's Outing the next time we are in San Antonio and I am confident it will be great. read more

This is a great burger that met my standards! Meat was juicy and the bun was awesome. My ONLY issue, for the price..the double wasn't big at all. The portion size was smaller than I expected and we didn't get much fries, tots or rings on the side. When it comes to taste it is definitely worth it..I'm just disappointed that it didn't fill me up the way a double normally does! My sister and kids approved as well! read more

Waited about an hour and a half for food. Service was sub par. Some workers had a terrible attitude. Folks waiting at the same time as us waiting about 1 hour and 15 minutes for a single burger. I tried place place a while back but never got to leave my review. Now don't let the 4 stars fool you, it is probably NOW a 5 star place, but when I tried it that's where it was at. Right off the bat, the reason why it's only 4 stars is because of the prices at the time and there was no seasoning on the burger at the time. The food was hot and fresh but because of those things it threw me off, I didn't feel it was ready for 5 stars. I need to try again now so I can see if it's at that level as other places are. They have a really good menu as you can see and are very appealing. You should try it yourself and see if it's better now! I'll probably be seeing you there. read more

Ehh, food is okay. Going from cheese fries to chili cheese fries is 3 dollars more for tiny chunks of meat despite the menu saying 1 dollar difference. Happens its cool, but still Overpriced for the amount of chili and fries received. 25 for a 2 ib burger is completely reasonable and all the other burgers are priced id say about what you would expect. Had to ask for sweet tea multiple times for the family. They finally replaced it when we were ready to leave 35-45 minutes later. Meanwhile I had to watch the staff mope around like they already put in their two weeks notice. The teenager that picks up the tables looks miserable working there, that doesn't help either. 12/24/19 I'm an over the road delivery specialist. I was coming from Laredo Texas headed to New Orleans. I was pretty sad I wasn't able to make it home for the Holidays and it seems the only thing that makes me feel better is great food, so I started looking up burger joints along my route. Being that it was a holiday I gave these guys a call to see what time they'd close, guy answered the phone and answered all my questions very politely. The only reason I'm mentioning this is because when people are ready to go home they can be a bit rude. From A View/Atmosphere - Not much to see from the outside. The inside is not as spacious but not super tight either. I also believe they have a " Large Party Section ". Nice tunes playing and a clean bathroom. Didn't get the guy name who took my order but he was very patient with me as I didn't know what I wanted to order. Recommend the Breakfast Burger Breakfast Burger - Displayed nicely got a burger. Meat was cooked to purrfection, not sure what the " Secret Spread " was but it did have a tiny tiny kick. One of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Located on the corner of East commerce and N Pine St right outside of downtown San Antonio, Mark's outing is definitely the place to come if you want a good homestyle burger. The food is hot and fresh and made to order. They have a soft drink machine with Dr. Pepper, big red, crush, twist, regular and diet Pepsi. They also have sweet and unsweet tea as well as lemonade. They also have complementary "world famous" bean soup and I hate to say it they are better than mine. They also have a cold case of drinks by the register if you want a bottled soft drink or iced coffee. We will definitely be back. read more

Where do I start...... The beans! The have complimentary beans next to the Soda machine and they are the B O M B ! I had the Fattys double meat and Tater totts. The burger was awesome! Nicely grilled with cheese, onions, tomato and lettuce. The bun however was the star of this musical and it stoke the Show! It tasted similar to a Hawaiian sweet roll. Also the same softness. Nothing special from the outside. However, when you walk-in you are greeted immediately. Service was great. I had the half-pound burger and onion rings. I saw Mark's Outing featured on Texas Eats and on News 4 where they had won a blue plate award and my mother and I decided to give them a try. It is not at all depicted on the blue plate award feature and on Texas Eats. Or even the pictures that are shown here and on their website. My mother and I were very disappointed. What you receive is not worth the price. I placed two orders, a bacon burger with mayonnaise on the bottom and mustard on the top, chili fries, seasoned fries, and a cheeseburger with extra cheese. The burgers were so small that we almost mistook them for sliders. The patties were smaller than the buns. They messed up both orders and I received the cheeseburger without any cheese and the bacon burger had the mustard and mayonnaise mixture. They put cheese on the burger after bringing it to their attention but only placed one slice after I had requested extra cheese. We received a handful of fries for both the seasoned and the chili fries. The fries were just regular frozen crinkle fries from the store. The seasoned fries just had old bay seasoning saturated on top of them after they had finished frying them. Neither my mother nor I could finish our food. Almost 30 dollars down the drain! Yesterday I got to try this food truck at the Leon Valley 4th of July festival. I remembered seeing Marks Outing on tv and was raving to everyone around me in the line about how I couldn't wait to try this place, it had such great reviews, and the burgers looked so freaking yummy! I was eating my words almost immediately after. I stood around waiting for my name to be called to grab my food. All of a sudden people who ordered after me started receiving lots and lots of boxes of food. I waited in line again hoping to hear my ticket was next to be called. When I got up to the front, they started looking for my ticket. And they couldn't find it. they lost the ticket. What really pissed me off more than anything was the dude in the truck was basically calling me a liar saying I didn't order and he didn't have a ticket in my name. No apologies, NADA.... They need a better ordering system. I didn't receive a receipt nor was I offered one at all. But I didn't have any proof I paid. It felt weird knowing I had paid for 3 boxes of burgers and fries and the dude in the truck was telling me there was no ticket. Thankfully they got my order ready fast once I complained since I had been waiting nearly an hour on this food. (by this point my entire family had eaten and were laughing at me still standing at this food truck waiting and waiting and waiting). And even when we got the food, the burgers were tasteless and cold. And the fries were awful. The fries were fantastic also! If you want McDonald's prices, then go to McDonald's. Their prices are not cheap, but at least sometimes, you must be willing to pay for quality. This place is awesome! Josh, my order taker and server, knows how to treat customers well. He is joyful, upbeat, knowledgeable regarding his product and just in general, a guy that makes the trip worth taking. His dad, Mark, should be proud :-) Honestly, the menu touts plenty of hamburger and sandwich options and the drinks are refillable for free. They even offer kool-aid and lemonade. The lemonade is outstanding and yes, I am an expert on lemonade. The burgers and onion rings were delicious, the bread is remarkably delicious on it's own. The rings are homemade. Not pulling those monsters out of a frozen package. One thing I must mention about the atmosphere, specifically, is the music. While it is present, it is not obnoxious and over powering so as to interfere with conversations. This restaurant is casual and laid back. It is in a historical area of the East side of San Antonio, which I now want to know more about. The prices of the entrees and drinks are comparable to other places and maybe a little less. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great burger, in a great location, in a comfortable atmosphere, where you will feel loved and welcomed. You're awesome JOSH! read more

Wife and I stopped in this evening for our first time here. Very casual, "order at the counter"-style restaurant. The staff here was very friendly and welcoming. It felt like we'd just come home for a quick bite. I ordered the 1/2 lb jalapeño cheeseburger and my better half got the 1/4 bacon cheeseburger. We also split a basket of fries. The service was prompt and the food was hot and fresh. Quite possibly one the tastiest burgers I've ever had (and I've had a lot). There were at least 8 other burgers on the menu that I want to try. Well, for starters, the service is VERY SLOW, even with limited seating. Ordered at 3:30pm, food arrived at 4:15pm and that's after my wife had to ask about our order. Food finally arrived, hot and sloppy!! Burger cooked perfectly, seasoned nice, delish. Covid safety measures are in place, even though the hand sanitizer has nothing in it, as it sit by the front door...Not too sure if we will return, but this visit was quite an experience.
