This place makes their food with LOVE. I haven't had a hamburger this good in a long time. I had the Heisman burger and it was amazing. Cooked perfectly and tons of flavor. I also had the onion rings which I am used to being disappointed by.... not here. Most of the time, it's just a flavorless breading and an onion. These are quite possibly the best onion rings I've ever had. The only downside for me is that they are on the total opposite side of town for me so I will have to make it a point to come here. Prices are very reasonable for what you are getting. You will not leave here hungry, that's for sure. read more

I saw this place on Spectrum news or something and added it to my list of food spots to try. I'm so glad I did! I ordered a 1/4 lb fatty and my hunny got a 1/2 lb fatty. DELISH Fresh tasting beef. Seasoned perfectly. The Patties were a great size, not just a slither of meat like some other spots. This was like a homemade patty ya granny make, all thick and juicy. The bun was big enough to cover everything and it was SO GOOD! It reminded me of a Hawaiian roll. Super chill ambiance, walk up to the counter order and take a seat. Had their famous Fatty Burger with cheese. It was amazing. Probably the best burger bun thus far as well. Their seasoned fries were also amazing. We had large and were happy we did. We tried their fried ice cream. Its crunchy waffle(?) batter was made with corn flakes I believe. Not really outstanding as it is but will try it next time with their burger offering topped with fried ice cream. Icing on the cake was free spicy beans sort of like cooked ala gumbo. You can take as many servings as you want from a hot pot. Ambience was great. Parking was great. Overall a great restaurant to frequent. read more

Mark's outing is in a strange position. Let's start off with the marketing. It's downtown, which I've come to learn has satellite locations both inside the mall and outside downtown East commerce. The picture with the 2 lb. Burger challenge is actually really cool and encourages me to try it. It's affordable to say the least, and people are generally welcoming to talk to. It seems as though this is an African American own restaurant as there are definitely small influences such as the business cards of other local services, which is really refreshing to see. Today, it seemed that it was the main attraction as large groups of people were walking from the Rivercenter area down to their main building! Wow, what an impressive feat. I tried a simple burger and onion ring combo today. I feel that 5 onion rings should not be $3.99 but the burger was perfectly priced for its scrumptious taste. I would enhance the ordering online and continue marketing, as Mark's Outing has outstanding potential. read more

I was in town for business. I drove past Mark's Outing when I came into town and from the name I thought it was a gay bar. But I was told it was actually one of the better local hamburger stands. I love hamburgers so I figured I'd give it a shot. I went before lunch on a Wednesday. The place wasn't busy. There were two girls at the registers, one white, one black. The white girl greeted me, but she was busy and said the other girl would take my order. The black girl barely acknowledged me, then without making eye contact began asking me questions in a ridiculously quiet, affected, bored voice, so I had to lean over the counter and keep asking her to repeat herself. Just disinterested and too cool for school, chewing gum and rocking to the music, staring off into the distance. After struggling through placing and paying for a simple order I realized she either hadn't asked if I wanted it to go or I hadn't heard her. So I went back up to the counter and the black girl again ignored me, just staring off into space. But now the white girl was available. She asked what I needed, checked to make sure my order was to go, actually paid attention and helped me. I went to a table to sit and wait. And wait. And wait. Nobody had ordered before me, nobody ordered after me. There weren't a lot of customers. But I was just sitting and waiting, 10-15 minutes for a couple burgers. Finally I saw the cook come out, place a bag with two containers on the stand, then go back into the kitchen. The white girl was away from the counter again doing actual work, the black girl was standing at her register, staring straight ahead, vibing to the music. Nobody called out the order. Nobody checked the name on the order. It just sat there on the counter getting cold. So I got up and walked to the counter. The cook came out of the kitchen and looked at me like I was going to rob the place or something, just stood there staring at me. The black girl was still in her own world. After a few seconds of awkward silence I asked, is that order for me? The cook looked to the black girl and asked if it was mine. She glanced over and nodded, then went back to letting everyone know how cool and disinterested she was. The cook asked my name. I gave it. He checked the receipt and my name was on it. But apparently that wasn't good enough. He asked me what I had ordered and I described the order. He still looked unconvinced but started to hand me the food, then pulled it back and looked around for the white girl so he could ask her if it was my order. After the third person confirmed that I had placed and paid for the order he was holding, he reluctantly handed it to me. It was honestly one of the weirdest experiences of my life. I'm a businessman. I was dressed well, driving a new car. I paid with a contactless credit card. Yet they treated me like a homeless person trying to steal food, which is partially understandable given the terrible neighborhood in which they operate. But it was extremely offensive. The food itself was disappointing. The total was over $30 for two of their most basic combo. The burgers just tasted of salt. The fries were Costco fries, and for two orders they gave me exactly two packets of ketchup. Their lemonade was from concentrate, looked like urine, and was served warm. read more

I don't leave a lot reviews but I do feel like something has to be said. I have a child with dietary restrictions (just doesn't eat read meat) so we always check the menu before we go anywhere. We looked and saw that there were vegan and veg options plus chicken. So we were jazzed and decided to give this spot a try. We ordered 4 burgers, fries, drinks and a fried chicken sandwich. The person taking the order was very friendly and the food came out pretty quickly. The burgers were fine. Not amazing but fine but that chicken sandwich threw us all for a loop. They brought out a frozen circle chicken patty like from the frozen section of the grocery store. The patty was On a huge bun. The patty didn't even come close to the size of the bun, but also, what?
