Fresh Start The Moving Crew proved prompt, polite, strong and capable; they are reliable movers who provided very good service. Details: Before the move, Fresh Start's staff Jean and Holly went over every detail with us. James came to the house to help us with inventory and later returned with Dennis to wrap special artwork--they were careful and professional. Our team over the two-day move consisted of Korey, Bryan, Wayne, Jay & Ryan, all of whom are hard workers, skilled professionals and nice people. The Fresh Start team members functioned well together. They made a chain to get boxes out of storage and it went really fast. They communicated well with each other and with our family, and repeatedly checked in to see if they could be of help to each other. They paused their work, briefly, to answer all our questions, so we didn't feel we were being pests when we went over details with them. Ryan took the broom out of my hand to finish sweeping up; he also set up a new bed for us after dismantling and moving the main bed to the truck. Wayne and Bryan moved loads of stuff steadily and capably, and Wayne also packed the china and small items carefully--nothing broke; Jay had the challenging task of packing a room in which only some of the items were being moved--he was careful to check in with us as he went along to ensure he packed the right things; he also packed the wardrobe box and it came through well. Bryan lent a hand with everything that needed doing, including moving boxes aside to lay rugs and making small adjustments to furniture placement, area rugs etc., that sometimes took a few minutes to get right. Korey did this patiently, as well, and kept the move on track by managing the flow of packing, loading and unloading. I was pleased the crew was willing to collaborate with me on some shelving we had planned--Korey had good ideas about the placement; Korey, Brian and Wayne were concerned about the shelving's stability so did a quick redesign. Overall they made it work and look great. The only damage we sustained was one coffee table leg. Korey arranged to have it fixed at no cost to us. Two additional bits of damage that were done by a prior mover were pointed out to us, with advice on how to repair. The only surprise was that some bureaus and a sideboard were packed & loaded with the drawer contents still in them, rather than being boxed separately as we had requested. Amazingly, we didn't incur any damage and in the end, "unpacking" was easier, but clothes and items were jumbled in two bureaus and a sideboard. The Fresh Start team members were polite and considerate, and did the job well. The manager of the destination facility, who has worked with many movers, named them "The Dream Team." The move came in under bid, met our schedule and was completed with time to spare at the destination, which won us points with the facility manager. We highly recommend Fresh Start - The Moving Crew to anyone who needs special care, has a complicated move, or just wants reliable professionals.

This housing is temporary until we can move to our final destination in 3 months! I will definitely call them back, also the pricing came in very close to what I was quoted. We moved out of our family house 2 years ago and the service was terrible, you had to pay them in full (cash) in order for them to unload truck, I was also charged for tape and supplies that weren't needed and was charged 2x the quote. Again, this was a very refreshing to have good help.

On May 2nd 2022, I started the process to reserve a U Pack Pod. Delivery set for 08/12/22, pick up…read moreset for 08/17/22. Delivery at destination scheduled 08/26/22. U Pack / ABF did not bring the appropriate equipment (a forklift) for drop off of a pod on 08/12/22. I provided (per clause 7 in the contract) an appropriate space for the pod -- a space to park the truck and a paved area sufficient for the pod itself. ABF/UPack refused to retrieve a forklift from the neighboring town for an additional $500 cost to them. The company did NOT offer viable alternatives. The alternatives were: 1) I could find another space for the pod to be parked (ex. permitted street parking: not feasible in the circumstance), 2) I could delay the pod arrival to Monday, 08/15/22, or 3) I could load the pod over the weekend at the moving facility (I would not have reserved a pod if I knew I'd also need to reserve a moving truck). I reluctantly opted to delay the pod's arrival to Monday, as this was the only feasible option -- including working with another company given the total lack of notice ahead of time regarding the forklift situation & time sensitive nature of the move. No discount was offered for the extreme inconvenience. I was also hung up on multiple times on 8/12/22 when trying to figure out a solution with dispatch. I was treated as a chore rather than a person in a stressful situation (because of U-Pack) trying to receive service on the reservation/guarantee that U-Pack assured me (since May!). I was also informed that the company did not assess the location prior to delivery, which is a discrepancy from typical protocol. Had this happened, perhaps the company might have thought of alternative solutions ahead of 08/12/22 and reached out to me. The pod was dropped off that Monday and picked up on Wednesday. The pick up could not be delayed or else delivery by the 26th would not be guaranteed. I was told that the company would call prior to picking up the pod; They did not. A result from the delay and lack of promised communication regarding pick up: I had no time to finish packing -- half of my belongings were left out of the pod as a direct result of the negligence of U Pack. This was totally unacceptable. The onus of problem-solving was on me and the company took no responsibility for their lack of appropriate equipment and poor customer service. I have pictures of the truck, pod, contract, furniture left out, etc. I also have written records of phone and in-person conversations with date & time marked. I have included a portion of these below. This company cost me hundred to thousands of dollars in furniture replacement with no remorse or compassion. Their guarantees are meaningless, and they made a very stressful time 100x more stressful.

I booked my appointment vía Yelp and received a confirmation within 24 hours. About 10 days later, when it became apparent that we weren't going to be ready on our original moving day, I called and asked to reschedule. Ethan accommodated me immediately and sent me a second confirmation without any hesitation. On the day of our move the gigantic truck rolled up 15 minutes ahead of schedule and the guys got to work! And damn, did they work HARD! I was only 95% ready for them so I kept packing up the last minute things while they hauled ass up and down the flight of stairs to our second floor apartment. They took one 15 minute break (No complaints from me! They deserved that, and more!) and then went back to work. At the end of FOUR HOURS the truck was packed and we were off to the new location. The guys grabbed an incredibly fast lunch in between places and were back on the job in less time than it took for Ethan to park the truck where he wanted it and have a look around. They worked for THREE MORE HOURS - again, up and down the stairs - and even took the time to make sure our boxes got to the right rooms. The whole time they worked I didn't hear a single complaint; not even an annoyed look or tone of voice. If they complained behind our backs...WHO CARES?! They kept every interaction professional and pleasant. (If our positions had been reversed I'd have been crying the whole day because I'm weak and old! ) The whole experience was great, from beginning to end. When it was done I felt like my "thank you so much" didn't even begin to express the extent of our gratitude for the amazing job they did. The final price was reasonable and we chose to tip each guy $30 for their exceptional work. In talking to someone later, I discovered that it's not typical to tip movers and all I can say is WHY NOT?! They're working their butts off and I could never have done the move without them! Definitely recommend!

Moving day can be stressful and not having a well planned estimate will cause issues…read more We were quoted $1,300 - $1500 for two men and a half day. We were asked to send pictures of all our items so they can fine-tune the estimate and make sure they are properly prepared to meet the customers' needs. We followed their request and sent pictures of EVERY item to be moved. Subsequent to sending the pictures the estimator said that after reviewing the photos he would like to add an additional man and increase the time based on his review of the photos. Their proposal was increased slightly ($1,500 - $1,700) (we had no issues with the request), and we awaited their arrival on moving day. Moving day came the workers on the truck were very nice. However mid-way through moving things went south fast. The workers broke an expensive glass bar cart and called to inform their home office. The original estimator then called to say we had more stuff than anticipated and the truck was full. The stuff was exactly what was in the one dozen photos sent two weeks prior to the move. These photos contained all the furniture and all of boxes that we had packed for the move. He then proceeded to state that we "didn't inform them there were boxes to move" (a complete lie). We calmly said two of the pictures sent to you (which the workers on site actually had on their cell phones) have a stack of boxes in the family room and another from the garage. He said well, "people move their boxes themselves sometimes'". Our response was simply questioning why we would have sent the pictures, at their request, if we intended to move them on our own. After arriving at 11:05 and deciding they were done at 5:30 sharp, the movers left over 20% of the remaining contents. They said they needed to move what they have in the truck and "they would come back the next day", but we would be getting another quote for the remaining move. When I questioned the additional quote the gentleman from the home office then revised it talk track to say he would not be able to insure he could come back tomorrow (Saturday, knowing the house was being sold) and stated and he would do it in 3 days (past the date of the house being sold) but the quote had to be signed to get on a possible schedule. He carried on saying "couldn't disrupt his clients already on tomorrows schedule". I guess its OK to disrupt a client by leaving 20% of the job behind. His quote for completing the move arrived the next day and the move would now be almost double the original price! Needless to say we quickly found an honest and reputable company for less than 1/2 of the additional quote from Two Movers. Two days later they sent a final bill for $800.00 more than his revised estimate, bringing the total moving cost to more than twice their original estimated when added to the additional mover we had to hire. We informed them of their error in number of hours billed, and reminded them they didn't complete the job, and that they broke the bar cart. Their response was that the bar cart isn't covered as they were not specifically informed of it in the move list, but they would give me $50.00 for it even though it was included in the pictures we had sent which prompted them to increase the original estimate. They said any items not specifically "written" on the contact were not their liability! The reality is they received pictures of all the items being moved, they double checked those photos well enough to increase the estimate to include an additional man. While we hope for a fair resolution that accurately accounts for actual hours worked and the damage to the property they caused, we have so far not heard back from them revising their billing or received any apology for the distasteful experience Update : The owner called apologized for the stress and miscommunications and we settled on a fair amount for the work they did The owner was very nice and concerned about our experience and perception of his office staff because it's not what the majority of his customers experience according to him My advice ask a lot of questions and list as many of your bigger or more expensive/delicate items upfront so you can openly discuss how they will be handled. Ask about travel timing billing and supplemental insurance for your property
