According to signage and what I received yesterday on Instacart when I got a fairly large order (that I later knew I just couldn't complete for the first-time customer), this is a Market 32 (owned by Price Chopper). But what I received inside yesterday was an interesting visit.
Although the employee in produce helped me quite a bit (although finding the one type of potato they were looking to buy turned disastrous), I couldn't get the same amount of great service here yesterday. I looked and looked and looked some more. The market's a little small (for a Price Chopper), but so were the employees serving the aisles of the market. While I later stopped shopping the large order after shopping 40 items (my order had more than 90 items) and told Instacart to remove this order from my list to have someone else complete, this order really was no pickle for me. It took me 1+1/4 hours to shop what I could, but it wrongly said would take me more than 2 hours to shop (if you knew the supermarket well).
I had trouble finding most of the items on the rest of the shelves, and aisle widths here were rather scant. (I realized I would've needed two carts to shop this order and didn't have another person to help me out, which I would've needed for this order. My contact who could've (another Instacart Shopper dealing with Postmates yesterday) was out of the area far enough away to not call for backup-help.)
About the only thing I liked about this Market32 were their grocery carts with their mobile phone pocket near the handle. Although it helped when I needed two hands in produce, it became a hindrance around the rest of the store and I was found not even putting it in there between products. Like I think I said before, it took me 1+1/4 hours to shop 40 items of a 90+ item order, and they wrongly estimated it would take me 2 hours to shop the order, but the
I think it's more a problem with Instacart's organization in the Shoppers list for this store, but this store's layout was the pits. There was no real organization here that led me well between products. You'd be best if you didn't order larger orders from Instacart from this location unless you have memorized every item in every aisle of this store. Products that you would've thought would have been bundled with other products, were in totally different aisles (I'd compare this Market 32 to my local Tops Supermarket in Rhinebeck, NY about 1+1/4 hours South)
What made this order even more terrifying was that this was my first time in this location of this store myself. I wouldn't want to be caught with problems in a first-time visit here, but at least next time I'll know what to expect; maybe, if conditions were right! But I'm sorry it had to end so abruptly in a bad way. Someone else had to try to shop this late night yesterday or early today instead. read more
