Everything we purchased was fresh and high-quality. One of the days of our trip happened to be my dad's 80th birthday. He had already selected a pie and put it in the cart when we came across Cheryl putting together these beautiful fruit tarts in the bakery behind the window. I commented about the giant tub of whipped cream and she smiled and told us about what she was making. Dad put the pie back where he found it, and we purchased the tart Cheryl was making. She was so engaging and helpful. The tart was as beautiful as it was delicious! I was working from a shopping list my sister gave me, and when I got to the register, I realized I didn't have brioche bread. I high-tailed it back to the bakery, and Sara helped me. They only had brioche rolls in the bakery, so Sara came out to the bread aisle to help me. She found brioche bread. Seriously, rock-star level service. Even the cashiers were friendly and helpful. We would definitely shop here again. They're part of the Kroger family of brands, so we got to earn points that work at our local Fred Meyer.

Unfortunately, the quick motion of my basket caused a bottle of banana ketchup to be knocked off a lower shelf and break in the floor. Upon, checkout I was made to pay for the bottle that broke. Okay, I get it you're a small business and every penny counts, and I average over $100 of my grocery budget there every month. But from a customer service standpoint to make me pay for accidentally knocking a bottle to the floor? Sure you saved $2.69. But once again from a customer service pov, did you save $2.69 OR did you LOSE over $1200 a year in patronage, because I'm never coming back. There's other Asian groceries in the area that I can get all the same things I get at your store.

Is it because it makes me feel like an astronaut? because it's almost as good as candy? because sometimes I pick the perfect piece of fresh fruit at the farmers market and then forget it's in the fruit basket so it get's composted? Is it because one time a piece of fresh fruit broke my heart? yes, it's all of those things. Fruitabu is the Organic version of the Stratech Island Fruit Leather. They are softer and taste better than all of the other "Fruit Flats". So what exactly IS fruit leather? It's simply dried fruit in a bar. "A convenient, portable fruit, in your pocket ... without the squish!" Old-fashioned fruit leather recipes say: Find a fruit blend that you like (apple and strawberry for example). Use ripe fruits, wash them, and carefully take out stems and seeds. Puree them in a blender and spread the fruit on a tray. Let it dry naturally under the sun (or in a home dehydrator) until the texture is just right. Then cut the fruit leather into strips and store in a dry place.
