Everything we purchased was fresh and high-quality. One of the days of our trip happened to be my dad's 80th birthday. He had already selected a pie and put it in the cart when we came across Cheryl putting together these beautiful fruit tarts in the bakery behind the window. I commented about the giant tub of whipped cream and she smiled and told us about what she was making. Dad put the pie back where he found it, and we purchased the tart Cheryl was making. She was so engaging and helpful. The tart was as beautiful as it was delicious! I was working from a shopping list my sister gave me, and when I got to the register, I realized I didn't have brioche bread. I high-tailed it back to the bakery, and Sara helped me. They only had brioche rolls in the bakery, so Sara came out to the bread aisle to help me. She found brioche bread. Seriously, rock-star level service. Even the cashiers were friendly and helpful. We would definitely shop here again. They're part of the Kroger family of brands, so we got to earn points that work at our local Fred Meyer.

When I opened the back of my SUV to put my groceries inside, the gallon can of paint that my hubby had just picked up rolled out, sprang open, and dumped about 1/2 gallon of bright blue paint onto the parking lot in front of the store. While I was almost in tears seeing the mess and the damage done to my favorite shoes and black pants, several TJ folks came out to help us in any way they could. I don't know how they will be able to get the parking lot back to normal, but the way they handled the situation was beyond excellent! They even handed me a bouquet of flowers as we left. Sometimes I will avoid the store altogether because of their unusually narrow stalls, as I drive a large van. I don't know why the clientele here are so inept when it comes to others. It's very dissuading, not just to shop, but to see society slumping in this fashion. Is it just Silverdale? If I try another Trader Joes in another demographic, I'll report back. And in a move to save the jar I quickly moved my basket under the falling jar to catch it to stop it from breaking in the floor. Unfortunately, the quick motion of my basket caused a bottle of banana ketchup to be knocked off a lower shelf and break in the floor. Upon, checkout I was made to pay for the bottle that broke. Okay, I get it you're a small business and every penny counts, and I average over $100 of my grocery budget there every month. But from a customer service standpoint to make me pay for accidentally knocking a bottle to the floor? Sure you saved $2.69. But once again from a customer service pov, did you save $2.69 OR did you LOSE over $1200 a year in patronage, because I'm never coming back. There's other Asian groceries in the area that I can get all the same things I get at your store.
