Purchased two packages of chicken sausage on clearance, which were reduced as they were set to expire two days later. Put them in the freezer immediately upon returning home. A week later, thawed them and opened one to make supper-- they were RANCID. Repacked them with plastic wrap to seal in the odor and my father attempted to return to the store the next day. The manager, Kevin, denied a refund stating it had been too long. My father left the store with no refund, so I called to verify what had transpired. Kevin then accused us of seeking a refund after we 'ate half the package'. This is patently untrue as, once again, it was dangerously rancid. He then stated, "Well, I have a picture." I told him to check the picture and, sure enough, everything was there. He refused to apologize for his accusations and again denied a refund. Now we are out $12 for a product that should have never been sold. Given the shoddy products, non-competitive prices, and POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE by KEVIN, we will never return to another Market Basket. the place is always busy, and that fine But they never open more registers , it like they start closing them. the old woman at registers always have an attitude, twice I went to put my food on the belt and the lady said Jesus Christ! or Oh No, because we had a full cart. Workinh iss just hell, I've been here for almost 3 years and no one respects me, people who have been here less them me work more hours, have more respect, I hate it. I suffer from an Eating disorder, depression, anxiety and Insomnia, this job has had me closing for the past 6 months, due to this I barkey sleep at night and I only sleep during the day, I have a hard time finding time to eat because of this, I've been framed by a manager after leaving sick, I got suspended and no apology from either director. Things sure have changed at Market Basket. Lot of new faces where I shop. Plenty of products missing from shelves. Produce worse than ever. Fewer registers open. Prices go up weekly. Bad week at MB in Lee NH. First trip - opened a new head of iceberg lettuce to find it all rotted inside. Returned it and got another. Bought a container of Mailhots Cretons Pork Spread. Opened it that evening and discovered the plastic container had been slit open, apparently by a box cutter. Returned it. Purchased a 16 oz brick of Cabot's 5 year old cheddar clearly labeled as $10.99. Got to the register and it rang up as $12.99. Picked up a couple of Bosc pears that were labeled $1.49/lb. Rang up at $1.99. Another trip to the service desk to get my $2.50 back because the cashier had totaled the order before I caught the errors. read more

On 5/25/22 at 1:38 pm I visited this market basket in Lee NH, as I have for 6 years... Very clean and well stocked store... As I checked out I encountered Cheryl D 0510135 who had worked there for 1 year tag... Elderly lady, neat, clean and seemed pleasant, at first. There was a change plate and I started to finger the pennies.. Well Cheryl D 0510135 got very upset, removed the change plate and started to be rude to me... What business she said did I have looking at the coins in the plate.. I said she was rude , discourteous and she gave me a very dirty look! I said I can't believe you spoke to me this way and you are a bitch! Terrible customer service. I had been in customer service at a Post office for 38 years and would "NEVER EVER" have spoken to a customer like that no matter how rude they were! I intent to return to this store only because of all those who were very helpful and courteous over these past 6 years. read more

Nothing too fancy, just good buys on good quality. The Demoula's Market Basket in Lee is my regular 'stock up' grocery store. It is not fancy, nor does it carry a lot of the gourmet items other grocery chains in the area carry, but if you want to stretch your dollar, Market Basket is the place. This Market Basket has the same retro, Brady Bunch vibe as the others, but since it's newer, it feels old-school rather than run-down. The cashiers are efficient and the counter staff and stockers friendly. Their products definitely reflect their Massachusetts roots. You'll find a whole aisle of pasta and pasta sauces, as well as Italian deli meats, cheeses, and canned goods. Their seafood, while limited to the usual staples, is fresh--I've bought their lobsters several times, in fact, since they usually have the best prices anywhere. The meets are good quality and a great value, though you won't find prime cuts. The produce, too, is usually good quality--and in the summer you can get under-sized peaches and plums and nectarines for $.69 a pound! The Lee Market Basket also has a bakery, which features Alden Merrill cheesecakes. You won't find a thousand different types of store-baked bread, but ,like everything else in Demoula's, what you will find will be as good quality as you could get in any of the other grocery chains for much less money. One of the best things about Market Basket is their store brand items. Their 'top shelf' whole wheat bread sells for a little more than $3 a loaf, but is one of those rare brands that don't have added corn syrup. Their whole wheat English muffins are as good as Thomas's, but at less than 1/2 the price. Demoula's also has a nice selection of wine and beer, again at reasonable prices. Demoula's Market Basket doesn't have snob appeal and it doesn't have the mind-boggling (and wallet-emptying) selections other chains may feature. But when you need a bad of potatoes, or a chuck steak, or some canned goods, Market Basket is the place to shop. read more

I was vacationing in the area and came into the store for a large weekend food shopping trip. The store was super clean and organized... lobster roll was a great pick up snack to eat on the car ride back to camp!! I realized upon looking at receipt after traveling home to VT that I had been charged twice for a 30+$ item and called the store. Within two days I received a money order in the mail to compensate me for the item!!!! Was so pleased with the prompt service and the staff was so helpful!!! This is a great store with two exceptions, they don't have enough dairy free products on a regular basis, especially ice cream like items. If they do have 1 or 2, it is usually plain vanilla- boring! There so many great flavors and just wish they would stock multiple flavors and more dairy free products. My other complaint has to do with the piped in music. It usually too loud and terrible. I wish they would play either instrumental or nothing. They can forget the rap! read more

The fish department always smells so bad that I will not buy any fish products or deli meat because it is located right beside it. The product in frozen case were overstock above the freezing line. read more
